Today is the day, the wedding. The day we have all been waiting for. The venue is beautiful, a vineyard in Malibu. It was Sarah's choice of course. My hair was curled and in a high ponytail. I look down at the small bundle of flowers that I was holding. So we're the other two bridesmaids. Our black dresses flow in the light spring breeze. I look over at the groom, Brendon.
I watch as he nervously closes his eyes, trying to stay calm. Sarah is going to be walking out soon, any minute. I look out at the chairs surrounding the isle. I see Sarah's mom, dad, and brother too. I wasn't too surprised when I saw Brendon's parents and siblings. Patrick Stump came even though it is his birthday.
Then, the moment came. Sarah appeared at the end of the aisle. Brendon's face lights up and I smile at her. Her baby bump was very noticeable. She keeps her eyes on Brendon the whole time with a huge smile. He looked like he was about to cry.
This is beautiful, perfect.
Before I knew it, they were kissing. Everyone was cheering and clapping. At that very moment, Sarah was no longer just Sarah to me. At this very moment, Sarah was my mother. From now on, she is my mother who will care for me and support me, be there for me. I all of a sudden feel happiness, the happiest I've felt in a very long time. I watch as they interlock hands and run down the aisle. Brendon looks back and smiles at me. I can't seem to wipe the smile off my own face.
Fast forward to a little later, the sun was no longer in the sky and the sky was black, full of stars. The fairy lights on the canopy lit the floor along with some other small lights. I watch as Brendon gently guides Sarah to the floor, it was their first dance. I watch from my table with Charlie and Karen. Charlie had his hand intertwined with mine. My Funny Valentine by Frank Sinatra plays as they dance. I feel tears leak from my eyes. They are so in love, you could see it in their eyes.
After their little dance, Charlie pulled my to my feet and pulled me to the floor. Some other slow song was playing. He puts his hands on my hips and smiles and I wrap my arms around his neck.
"You look beautiful Syd." He whispers, we away back and forth. He leans down and kisses me softly. I blush and look over at Brendon and Sarah who where sitting, watching us. Brendon watched proudly but carefully.
(A/N oh my lord. I'm trying not to cry.)
After a while, Charlie gently pulled away and Brendon took his place. He put his arms around my waist and I put my arms around his neck. He smiles down at me and I smile up at him. Even with my heels on, he was still taller than me. I put my head on his chest and let out a content sigh.
"Look at us Syd, we're a family now." He says quietly in a calm, soft voice as if I was a child. "A mom, a dad, a daughter, and a baby on the way." He says. I feel tears start to weld up in my eyes. He sees that and brings a hand to my face, wiping them away.
"Sydney, look at us. We're happy." He says. "I remember when I first adopted you, I would of never thought that just a year later I would be married and having a kid." He says, pulling me closer as we rocked back and forth.
"Look at you now." He says. "You have a future. You're going on warped tour in just a few months, your life is pretty planned out." He says, smiling. I feel more tears and I let them run down my face. I'm happy and I'm not going to try to hide it.
My story started as a girl who was scared, alone, afraid of the future. I got a letter in the mail in a blue envelope that changed my life. Here I am now, a musician with a long career ahead of me. I even have a baby sister on the way. That was my story, and this is where I'm going to end it. I'm ending my story in the arms of my love my loving father.
My name is Sydney Urie. I'm currently sixteen and I lived in a foster home with two little girls named Riley and Misty and their mom. My real mom and dad died in a car crash when I was only three, I was the only survivor. My life was pretty good until one day, I got a letter in the mail. Then, my life how I knew it changed.
That's my story, and this is where it ends.
A/N Oh my god, the story is over. I've spent so much time on this project, over a year. This whole story started as a joke but it turned into something more. I have a few people I want to thank. Lol.
First of all, I would like to thank ARiotofRoses for always leaving the coolest comments. Thanks!
Then I would like to thank 21pilotspanicing (who is currently sleeping on my floor) for letting me force her to write fanfic. She is my best friend and an amazing writer.
Well, that's the end. (Lol, stay tuned for another sequel.)
