•A FEW DAYS LATER•

I haven't talked to Charlie since the kiss. Not a single call, not a single text. I haven't told anyone about it either. Since Brendon's kind of mad at me right now, I don't think it's a good idea to tell him yet. He also hasn't left the house for three days. He is barely talking to me either. He thinks I'm selling drugs. This fucking sucks.

Here I lie in my bed, staring up at my glow in the dark stars that don't actually work. I sigh and reach for my phone, there's a text from Charlie. I feel my heart drop a little.

Charlie: "Hey, Karen and I are going to the mall later. Do you want to come with us?"

I sigh, I can't. Brendon won't even let me go see my friends. Maybe I should of just told him about Ryan. I wouldn't be in this mess right now.  I start typing a message back to him.

Me: "I wish, but Brendon's not really letting me leave the house."

Charlie: "What? Why?"

Me: "So I keep all the money Ryan pays me in a box under my bed. Well a few days ago, I accidentally left the box sitting on my bed. He found it and tried to make me say what it was from. I didn't and now he thinks I'm selling drugs or some shit like that."

Charlie: "What?! Oh my god! So you can't leave the house? That's stupid. Well, I'll get something for you.

I smile down at my phone before setting it on my nightstand. I guess I should get up. I slip out of bed and let my body carry itself to the door. I open it slowly and I hear faint talking downstairs. I quietly poke my head out the door to listen.

"Brendon, I think you are overreacting." I hear Sarah say. Sarah?

"I don't know Sarah, I don't know anymore. This doesn't seem like her. And I'm not going to be the dad that goes through her phone, that's her private property." He sighs. "But what if she is dealing drugs Sarah?"

"She wouldn't Brendon, she's not like that. She's a smart girl, not stupid." She says.

"Agh I know it's just hard to trust her when she said that she couldn't tell me. I just love her so much, I don't want her to get into anything bad." I bite my lip, he's just trying to be a good parent. I sigh and walk over to my mirror. I slip a panic! crew shirt that Zack gave me over my sports bra which I slept in. I had made it into a tank top that shows a little bit of my sides. I slip on a pair of black athletic shorts before opening my door loudly, letting them know that I'm up. Their talking stops and I walk down the stairs.

"Morning Syd." Brendon says, wrapping an arm around me. I yawn and nuzzle into his side. Sarah smiles at me.

"Sarah here is going to watch you while I go." I nod, not saying a word to him. Brendon grabs his computer bag and leaves. Sarah looks at me and sighs.

"Sydney." She walks over to me. "Look what you got yourself into." She hugs me and I sigh.

"I know, I fucked up big time. I should of just said I got a job or something." She rubs the back of my head and pulls away.

"You are so lucky that he chose me to watch you." She chuckles. I nod and do the same.

"Yeah." I chuckle and look around.

"So what do you wanna do?" She asks me. I shrug and sigh. Then it hits me, she's a woman, she's probably had a lot of experience with guys.

"Actually, can I talk to you about something?" I ask her, leaning against that wall.

"Fire away girlie." She says. I sigh and look down.

"Charlie kissed me, twice." I say, her eyes get wide.

"Oh my god! Sydney you had your first kiss!" She says walking over and squeezing me in a hug. I giggle as she takes my hand and pulls me to the couch. As soon as we sit down, she starts questioning me. "Tell me how it happened, everything." She says, taking both my hands. I chuckle and look back at her.

"Well he was having trouble babysitting his niece so I came over to help. After she went to sleep, we decided to watch a movie. After a while he put his arm around my shoulders. Then after a while, he put his arm around my waist. And then he...he kissed me." I say. She flips out.

"Oh my god! Did you kiss him back?!" She says happily. I nod and smile.

"I think so! I'm new to this stuff." I say. She laughs and smiles at me. "But I need to ask you something." She nods and stares at me. "How do I know if I like him or not?" I ask her.

"Oh honey let me tell you, you'll feel it." She looks away. "You'll feel you heart drop when you see them. You'll get butterflies in your stomach whenever they smile at you." She then frowns a little.

"What?" I ask her. "What's wrong Sarah?" She looks at me.

"Sadly, the man I have feelings towards is taken." She smiles sadly at me. I sigh and look down.

"I think that I have feelings for him Sarah." I say, looking back at her.

"Then what are you waiting for, go get him!" She whispers.

"But I can't leave the house." I whisper back. I don't know why we are whispering but I'm going along with it. She pats my leg.

"I've got your back girlie." She says. "Now go get him." She says, pushing me up and patting my back. I giggle and run upstairs, quickly changing into a striped black and white tank top and black high waisted skinny jeans. I walk to the bathroom and taking my time curling my hair and doing my makeup. I carefully put my hair in a high pony tail, making sure all the curls stayed. I sprayed some hair spray on and grab my sun glasses. I hook them on my shirt and then head downstairs right as I'm about to leave. Sarah grabs my arm.

"Wait not yet. I have something for you." She unclips a thin gold chain from around her neck and brings it to my neck, clasping it behind my neck. I bring my hand to the little S that hung from it. It hangs about two inches above the necklace I got for my birthday a few months ago. That other necklace is tucked in my shirt.

"Sarah...no this is yours." I say, reaching for the necklace. She swats at my hands and points at me.

"Yeah but I want you to have it. It looks beautiful on you." She says, smiling. "Now go get that boy!" She says. I giggle and smile.

"Thanks Sarah." I say before grabbing my purse and heading out the door. I put my sunglasses on to block out the brightness.

About fifteen minutes later, I'm at the mall. I take a deep breath before walking inside. I first head to the fountain in the middle of the mall, that's were we usually hang out. I look around until I find two familiar heads facing the opposite direction. I smirk and walk up behind Charlie and spin him around, going on my tippy toes and planting a kiss on his lips. He puts his arms around my waist, pulling me in even more. We pull away and I look up at him happily.

"Hello there." He's says, his hands remaining on my waist. I turn to Karen who is looking at us like we are insane.

"Did I miss something?" She asks really really confused. I look at Charlie and smirk.

"We should really try this out." I say. He nods and smiles.

"I was thinking the same thing. You should totally be my girlfriend." He says casually. I hum and look up at him.

"I totally should." I say. He leans in again kissing me softly. Karen clears her throat.

"Can someone please explain to me what is happening?!" She says, slapping her hand on her sides. I giggle and look up at him. I guess I have a boyfriend now.
