"I cannot believe you adopted a child!" Brendon's dad says loudly. I shift awake and snap my eyes open. "A child Brendon!" I wait for Brendon to say something but he doesn't. "Did you even think this through!" I jump out of bed and walk to my door, carefully opening it a crack so I can hear what's going on downs stairs. Brendon's dad continues to go at it.

"What about college Brendon? How are you going to send her to college?" Then Brendon jumps into the fight.

"If she wants to go to college, she can go! And dad, I think you're forgetting something, I'm a millionaire." He shoots back. "Dad, you have only known her for like a day. You don't even know if she wants to go." He says. It's true, he doesn't know that I don't want to go to college. I just want to do music.

"She would make a great doctor." Brendon's dad says out or nowhere. Oh god no, I could never be a doctor. My dad was a doctor if I'm remembering correctly.

"She wouldn't want to be a doctor, dad." Brendon says truthfully back. True Brendon, true. "She wants to be a musician."

"A musician?! What about college!" He asks, agitated. Oh god, his isn't going to like Brendon's answer.

"She doesn't want to go." Brendon says. "And she doesn't have to, it's her choice anyways. It's her life to live, that's her decision." Brendon's dad flips out.

"She's going to be just like you! She's going to do drugs and become just as messed up as you!" He shouts at Brendon. "Why can't you just be like your siblings! You attract so much unwanted attention to this family and I'm sick of it!" Everything goes silent. Then, I hear the front door opens.

"Alrighty I'm back." I hear Brendon's mom say. She must sense that she's in the middle of something. "I...I'll just get out of your guys' way." She says in a small voice. Once I hear her walking up the stairs, I jump back into bed. Then I hear a knock on my door, I don't answer.

"I know you aren't sleeping Dear, your door was open." She whispers. I sigh and sit up as she opens the door all the way, letting herself in. She then walks over and sits on my bed. She was about to say something but Brendon and his dad dive back into their argument.

"She is my daughter, not yours! I know what's best for her." Brendon shoots. His mom looks at me with wide eyes.

"Taking her on tour must damage her grades so much. You are hurting her social life by taking her away from people her age!" His dad yells.

"She left school this year with A's and B's! Her social life is none of your business." Brendon snaps. "And maybe if you actually were a supportive father, you would have known that I adopted her and that she is a part of the band!" And then there was silence. Brendon's mom looks at me surprised. I nod and look back at the door.

"You are treating her like an adult Brendon. She is still a child, she shouldn't be making her own decisions!" Brendon groans.

"She is a teenager dad, a teenager! She deserves some freedom." Brendon says.

"Well we gave you freedom and look how you turned out!" Oh shoot. "We gave you that freedom and look at you now! You're smoking marijuana, probably doing other drugs, and you're still not married!" He shoot. "You are an embarrassment, a failure." Brendon's mom gasps. There was a long long pause.

"That's it, I want you out." Brendon hisses. "I want you out of my house right now!" Raising his voice.

"Fine! But just know we aren't coming back! Grace, get down here right now!" She looks at me with a sad look.
