(Enjoy that pic of my dog and I)
ONE WEEK LATER"So why are you so smily this morning?" Brendon says, chuckling slightly as we get into the car. I put my seat belt on before hugging my sketch book to my chest. "And whats with the notebook?" He asks, starting up the car. I smile and pat the notebook.
"You're going to have to wait and see." I said, looking at him. His sunglass covered eyes give me a funny look. "Let's just say I have an amazing idea." I say, looking back at the road. It's true, my idea is quite amazing and I can't wait to blow their minds.
"So I was thinking, after the meeting if you wanted to stop by the music store with me. They finished putting together your petal board, so you'll sound even better on stage." He says. I smile.
"Sure, I love the music store." I say, messing with the cover of my sketchbook. The rest of the ride was silent other then us screaming the lyrics to some of the songs on the radio. We arrived at the studio and get out of the car. He holds the door open for me as I walk in. We walk back to the conference room and walk in. The rest of the band, Zack, and our manager was their along with a few other people. I took a seat next to Dallon and Brendon took a seat next to me. Our manager stood up.
"Alright everyone, so we are all here to talk about the new music video. As you all know, Sydney was put in charge of the idea. Sydney? Would you like to share your idea?" He says, I nod and stand up. I walk over to the projector and stand behind it.
"Alright, so I a few sketches." I say, flipping my sketchbook open to the first drawing. It was of Brendon's face with dark gray skin and horns. I place it on the projector and get a wave of reactions from everyone. I smile and continue.
"So here's the story. So you guys know at the end of This is Gospel how Brendon ran into that cloud of smoke? Well let's say he was running to heaven but he isn't excepted in." I say. Brendon sits there staring at the drawing with wide eyes. "So he falls. Once he gets to hell, he starts transforming into this demon creature." I change the pages again. "This is what he will look like half way through the transformation." I flip to the next page. "And this is his final form." I say. There was another wave of reactions. I look around. "Any questions?" I ask. I guy raises his hand.
"So what happens after he's fully transformed." He asks.
"Well he kinda just makes scary faces and sings along." I say, crossing my arms and looking at everyone. The guy nods.
"So how are we going to end this?" He asks again. We all fall silent for a moment. It was until Dan gasped and looked at me.
"How about he meets satan!" He says causing Kenny to face palm and sigh.
"Dan, I swear to god." Dallon says. Dan looks at everyone, confused.
"What? It's a good idea right?" He says. Everyone stares at me for my opinion. All of a sudden, I one of the people I don't recognize stood up.
"Oh my god!" He says, smiling. "This could actually work." He says. Everyone looks at him with a confused look on their faces. "Sydney, we could make you like the queen of hell or something!" He says, walking over to me. "Ok, so what we can do is give her a dark, evil looking outfit." He says, a girl who was that started writing this down. "I'm thinking black contacts." He points to my eyes. "Oh! And black wings!" He says, my eyes light you. This is going to be cool.
"Ok, only if Dan, Dallon, and Kenny get to be my loyal peasants." I say, looking over at the rest of my band. "Dan, this is a great idea." I say, grabbing my sketch book and sitting back down.
We spent the rest of the meeting talking about what the set would look like. Once we finally decided, we all left. Brendon and I get into the car.
"Syd, you are so creative." He says, patting my knee as he leaves that small parking lot. I smile and flip open my sketchbook, revealing a few new sketches we planned. I was helping plan the outfits. I look down at sketch I was working on for my outfit. It's looking pretty good. All I have to do when I finish is send it to the guy working on costume and we will be all good.
Once we got to the music shop, we parked the car and walked in. "You can go look around. It might take a while, I have to make sure they did it right." He pats my head before walking to the front desk. I walk over to the guitars and look up the tall wall. I see a white Fender telecaster with a black pick guard. I pick it up off the wall and stare at it in awe. I walk over to I rotating stand with straps on it and put a black on on the guitar. I put the guitar on and strum, it's very much out of tune. Since I only have one guitar, I got pretty used to tuning by ear on stage since I didn't have a tuning pedal. I start to tune the high G string.
I was in the middle of tuning when I hear someone clear their throat. I spin around to see who it was.
"Um just because you're in a band, it doesn't mean you can just pickup whatever you want and play it." The one and only Rina said. She flips her hair and crosses her arms. I give her a confused look.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, annoyed and not putting the guitar back. She reaches to her neck and holds out a ID that was on a black lanyard, points at it.
"I work here, it's called a summer job hun." She shifts and points at the guitar. "If you want it, then buy it. You can't just play whatever you want." She says. I was just about to say something but I hear someone say my name. I look over to see two girls walking over to me.
"Hi Sydney! Could we get a picture with you?" One asks, pushing back her brunette hair. I smile at them and nod.
"Yeah sure." I turn to Rina and give her a smile. "Rina, could you please take this picture for us?" I say. One of the girls hands Rina her phone, Rina sighs and snatches the phone. I move the guitar so that its behind me and I put my arms around the girls shoulders. I put on a big smile and the camera flashes. Rina shoves the phone back into the other girls hands and storms away. The blond girl turns to me.
"What's her problem?" She asks. I chuckle slightly.
"She's a girl from my school who strongly dislikes me. Let's just say she wasn't happy to be taking that picture. We all laugh.
"So why are you here?" The brunette asks. I swing the guitar back around.
"Well, Brendon and I came to pick up my pedal board." The blond gasps.
"Brendon's here too?" She asks, I nod.
"Is it okay if we get a picture with the two of you when he comes out?" She asks.
"Sure why not, he shouldn't be too long." I say, smiling. I was right, about three minutes later Brendon walked out with a giant box his hands. "Yo beebo! Come take a picture with us." The girls start getting excited as he gets closer.
"Hi girls." He says, smiling down at them. They introduce themselves as we take a picture. we then sign some stuff for them before heading back home. I feel my phone buzz in my pocket, I reach down to see who it is.
Ryan: I have a plan.
