"My back!" I shift awake. "My back it burns!" I jump awake and prop myself up on my elbows. I look over at Sarah who was also still on her towel. It was Angie, she was freaking out. "My arms too!" I put my hand over my mouth, she looks like a lobster, no joke. Brendon climbs out of the pool and walks over to her.

"What's wrong babe?" He asks her, reaching for her shoulder. She gasps and pulls away.

"Don't you dare touch me! What happened to me!" She says, her once pale skin is now mostly lobster red. I cover my mouth and laugh into my hand. Sarah looks over and does the same. She leans over and cups her hands.

"It looks like she ran into a freshly painted fire truck." She whispers sending me into a laughing fest. She quickly covers my mouth and shushes me. "Shh, she will rip your limbs off one by one." I try to conceal my laughter but I fail. Angie whips her head to me like a hawk spotting its next meal, my eyes widen and I stop laughing.

"You." She stomps over. "You can shut up!" She snaps. Sarah stands up and slowly moves her away and Brendon looks confused. She leads her inside and Brendon walks over to me, crouching down so he was at my level on the ground.

"Sorry about that, she's angry." He says. I lean in close and try not to laugh.

"She looks like a lobster." I say and burst into laughter.

"Sydney, none of that! Now we are going to go inside and sort this out. I don't want to hear a word from you in there, okay?" He says in a fatherly tone. I snap out of my laughing fit and nod. He offers me his hand and he pulls me to my feet. We walk back to the house and he opens the door. I walk back up to my room and shut the door.

I run to my bed and stuff my face into my pillow, letting the laughter flow out. I then grab my phone and click on Ryan's contact. It rings for a while before I hear a "hello?"

"Ryan?" I say, lowering my laughter. "It's working." I say, my face now smiling.

•THE NEXT DAY•

"-and the rockets red glare!" Brendon sings as he hangs an America flag banner across the mantle. "The bombs bursting in air!" He spins around and grabs a tiny American flag off the coffee table and sticks it in the plant in the center. I giggle and watch as he runs around the living room, decorating for the forth of July which just so happens to be tomorrow. I watch from the safety of the couch as he runs around.

He grabs one of the banners and spreads it across arms like wings. "For the land of the free!" He sings, holding out free for a little to long. "And the home of the-." He pauses and looks at me, flying over with his American flag wings. He wraps the banner around me, causing me to giggle. "Brave!" He says, also holding out the last note for way to long.

"You are insane." I say through my giggles. He nods and smiles. "I was adopted by a mad man."

"I know dear." He pulls the banner off me and walks over to the wall. "Now come help me decorate child." He say. I push off the couch and grab a bundle of tiny American flags. "Now since you aren't old enough to attend the regular Urie Fourth Of July party, it's just the two of us this year." He says as I walk over to all the little house plants that we had around the house, sticking the tiny flags in the pots. Urie Fourth Of July party?

"I'm not old enough?" I say. He hums and spins around. "The last part seemed pretty chill."

"No my dear. Last year the party was way to crazy. We drank all the booze in the house, loads of drugs , and I woke up in the pool next door in my underwear. Spencer even woke up almost upside down on the roof. It was pretty heated." He says, walking back to the table to grab more decorations. I look at him with wide eyes. "And you know Jake, our producer?" I nod " Well we had a contest to see how many hotdogs we could fit in our mouths and I lost. I wore Sarah's heels for the rest of the night." He said, chuckling at the memories. "God, this house is full of memories."

"I thought parties like that were made up." I say. He shakes his head.

"Welcome to the life of a rockstar Syd." He say. "Guess what?" I look over at him after sticking the last of my flags in a cactusy looking plant. "No parties for you until your fifty." He says jokingly. I giggle and walk back to the coffee table. I pick up a table cloth to put on the dining table and find something underneath.

"Um, what are these?" I ask, holding up two small red white and blue sweaters. Brendon rushes over and gasps.

"Oh my god I forgot about these!" He says, taking them out of my hands and calling the dogs over. "Aw my little babies are going to look so beautiful." He slips on the two sweaters and sets the dogs down. Penny runs around our feet happily while Bogart sits looking confused. I let out a loud laugh and try not to fall over.

"Brendon, Bogart doesn't like it." I say, watching as he scratches at the neck of the sweater. Brendon watches him intensely.

"Well boo hoo, my boys have to look the best of the best." He picks up Bogart and cradles him like a baby. Bogart starts growling and showing his teeth. "Do you even what to be the best?!" He says, quoting his own video. I pick up Penny and hold her. She is really enjoying her little outfit.

After thirty minutes of intense decorating, Brendon grabs his phone. "Guess what? It's pizza night in the Urie house! Woot woot!" He says, pressing the phone to his ear. I giggle and walk to the now decorated living room, sitting down and opening my phone. I wait for Brendon to finish ordering the pizza we usually get. If you were wondering, it's Hawaiian. He then comes and sits down next to me, switching on the tv. A news story about the current missing people of LA was on. It wasn't that long, maybe five minute later, we heard the door bell ring. Brendons face got weird.

"That was really quick." He said, grabbing his wallet from his pocket and getting up. I continue to watch the news as he does this. He clears his throat before opening the door. "Ok how much to I-" he pauses and goes completely silent. This can't be good.

I wait to see if I hear anymore talking but the silence lasts way to long, somethings wrong. I wonder who's at the door.
