•FOUR DAYS LATER•
"I swear to god!" I say, collapsing onto my bed. We had gotten home yesterday, Karen and Charlie insisted we all hung out. Charlie is sitting on the floor using my computer and Karen is looking over his shoulder. Charlie looks over at me, confused.
"What?" He asks, noticing Karen was looking over is shoulder and pushes her face away. She looks over at me too.
"You okay?" She asks, I sigh and groan. "I'm guessing that's a no?"
"What do you do when your dad gets a girlfriend and you realllyyy really don't like her?" I ask, sitting up. They both look at me stunned.
"Brendon has a girlfriend?" They both say in unison, I nod. They then look at each other before looking back at me.
"What's she like?" Karen asks. I roll my eyes just thinking about her.
"She is mean, annoying, and fake. She's horrible." I say. Charlie gives me a sympathetic look.
"Aw bro I'm sorry." He says. I nod. "I'm guessing Brendon sees her differently?" I nod, he looks over at the window at the night sky. "I don't know what to say.
We all sit in a thick silence for a while before Karen somehow manages to break that silence by trying to get up but slipping. I can't help but laugh, she's such a wreck. "I hate my life." She says, now laying on the floor. We stare at her for a while before she gasps and sits up. "You know why we should do!" We look at her confused.
"What?" I ask. She looks between Charlie and me.
"We should have a sleepover." She says. My eyes light up.
"We should!" I reply, crossing my legs. That would be very fun. Charlie sighs. "What?" I ask.
"I think you guys are forgetting something." He says. "Parents are weird about girls having guys stay over. They usually think the worst." He sighs.
"It's worth a try." I say, getting off the bed and heading to the door. "Come on guys." They follow me. We go down stairs I look around to find Brendon sitting outside with Zack near the pool. The pool light sheds an eerie blue light on them. I slide the door open and walk out with my friends. Brendon's talking to his phone, he's periscoping.
"Are you proud of Sydney for getting nominated? Why wouldn't I be, she's my daughter." He looks over at me. "Oh here she is now, hi Syd." He points the screen at me and I wave.
"Hey can I ask you something?" I say. He looks at me. "Can Karen and Charlie stay over tonight?" I ask, he gives me a weird look.
"Sure just don't do anything stupid." He says, shooting a fatherly glare at Charlie. He points at Charlie. "You know what I mean young man." Charlie looks back at him with wide eyes. "Run along now children." He says, waving his hand at us.
"Thank you!" I tell him. I start walking back to my friends.
He looks back at the camera. "I was stupid when I was a teenager, look where it got me!" He taking a sip of beer. We all get back into the house and go up to my room.
"Told you it was worth a try." I grab my phone and swipe it open.
"You know what we should do?" Charlie say, looking at us. "Play truth or dare." I sigh.
"I suck at that game!" I complain. Charlie laughs.
"Too bad, we're playing it." He sits on the floor. "Sit people." We sit in a small triangle. "So who wants to go first." Karen waves her arms around. "Ok, truth or dare."
"Truth." She says. He thinks of a question.
"Um, which panic song represents you the most?" He asks. Karen looks over at me.
"Girls/Girls/Boys because I'm bisexual as fuck!" She says fairly loudly, staring directly at him. His eyes widen.
"Well that's one way to come out to your friends." He says with a giggle. "You are?" He asks her, she nods. "Nothing wrong with that." She spins to me.
"Sydney Urie, truth or dare." She asks me.
"Ah screw it, I'm gonna go with dare." I sigh, Karen claps excitedly. Oh god, what's she thinking of. I swear with Karen, you never know what's going on in her head.
"I dare you to jump in the pool!" She says. I look at her like she's insane.
"Excuse me? Jump in the pool?" I ask, she nods. I push myself off the floor. "I hate you."
"You have to jump off the balcony into the pool." She adds on. Charlie falls back laughing. My mouth drops open.
"Karen, that's insane!" I say. "I can't do that!" I expel. She just stares at me. You are insane!"
"It's a dare, you have to." She says, I sigh.
"Fully clothed?" I ask, Karen nods.
"Yep, fully clothed." She says. I sigh and take my phone out of my pocket. I hand it to Charlie.
"Better record this." I say. "If I die I want it documented." He giggles and takes my phone. We walked the short walk to the balcony. I lean over and see Brendon still periscoping. I slip off my jacket, I don't want to ruin it. The warm night air hits my arms. I look back at my phone which is being held my Charlie and give it a thumbs up.
I look down at the glowing greenish blue pool. I mean, it's not that far down. I take a deep breath and step up onto the edge of the balcony. Charlie walks right behind me, he points the camera at Brendon and Zack. "Jump as close to them as possible." He whispers. I nod and let go of the railing, standing up fully. I prepare to push off the railing and land in the pool, I then push off. I notice that I am very close to Brendon and Zack. I hear a loud "what the fuck?!" from Brendon before I feel my body submerge into the pool. My feet touch down on the bottom and I push up.
As soon as I get to the surface, I burst into laughter. I look back at the balcony to find my friends laughing. I look at Brendon who looks startled. "Where did you even come from!" He says, now drenched in water. I hang onto the edge as I laugh my face off.
"I flew!" I said through laughter. Zack just looks confused. Brendon's pointing the camera at me.
"Where did you come from!" He asks again. I point at the balcony.
"I jumped off the balcony!" I said. His eyes get wide.
"You what?!" I laugh harder. "Why!" He says, now laughing.
"Because truth or dare!" I said laughing too. I point up at Karen, she backs away. "She dared me to do it."
"Oh my god." He says, getting up and handing his phone to Zack. "Give me your hands." He sighs. I stick out my hands and he pulls me out of the pool. He grabs a towel and wraps it around me. "Sydney you are insane." I laugh and walk back inside, going up the stairs and meeting them on the balcony. We then go to my room where I grab a change of clothes and change in the bathroom. After walking back out, we decided to watch a movie.
We all crammed into my bed and set my laptop on our laps. We click into Netflix and attempt to find a movie. We finally settle on watching The Gallows. We pull the blankets around us as we watch the movie. Charlie being Charlie kept making jokes causing us to laugh.
"Hey, my names Charlie too!" He notices. Karen hits the side of his head and he groans. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. For all you know, I could be a demon!" She slaps him again.
"Yeah ok, shut up." She says, we continue to watch it.
About twenty minutes in, my door swings open. We all jump, Brendon sticks his head through the door. "Hello, just checking up on you guys." He then walks in and sees us all laying in my bed. He hums and walks over to us. "Whatcha watching?" He asks.
"A movie." I reply. He then walks back to the door.
"So Zack and I are heading over to Kenny's. We'll probably be back around 11." He then swings the door closed.
"He's so weird." I whisper to my friends. The giggle and we continue to watch our movie. At the end of the movie, we all fell asleep. Friend ship goals right here.
