"I'm so glad we get our break. It took so long getting here," Jung Kook collapsed on his bed as he and Tae came in from school.
Tae Hyung had been living with Jung Kook for a week now. His bruise was almost completely healed and, because he wasn't anywhere near his father, nothing new had appeared on his body.
"I didn't mind the wait," Tae Hyung climbed on the bed to hover above the younger's body.
"No, you know the drill. Take your shirt off," Jung Kook grabbed on to Tae Hyung's upper arms.
"I told you you'd beg for it," he smirked, but started to move off the younger's body.
Jung Kook sat up as Tae pulled his shirt off his arms. He moved around behind him and placed his palms on his elder's shoulders.
"It looks a lot better today," Kookie hugged him.
"A small victory," Tae sighed and laid his hands over Kookie's arms.
Jung Kook smiled at the warmth he felt. Despite Tae Hyung being half naked, it wasn't even embarrassing anymore.
"Kookie, I know you like to stay here where we can do whatever we want whenever we want, but I want to take you out."
"Out where?," Jung removed his arms from Tae's waist and crawled back around to sit in front of his hyung.
"I don't know yet. I just wanted to see if you'd agree to going before I made plans," his pretty smile splayed across his face, but it was a small one.
"I don't care where I am as long as you're there. You're what makes me happy, silly," the younger pushed on his chest, trying to be playful in order to make his smile bigger.
It didn't work though; it must just be one of his bad days.
There was a silent pause, but somehow, it wasn't awkward. Then Jung Kook found himself smiling as a....weird....thought entered his mind.
"What?," Tae raised his eyebrow and slouched over.
"Stay here," Jung hopped up from the bed and ran out of the room.
Tae just stared at the doorway, waiting for Kookie to appear once again. It never took long for his thoughts to engulf him in sadness, so he really wanted Jung Kook to come back.
With a sneaky look on his face, the younger stepped back in and closed the door once again. He held up his hand, waving a marker in the air.
"What's so special about that?," Tae tried to see if it said glow in the dark or something on it, but it was just a washable marker.
"Nothing," Jung sat back down in his spot and uncapped the marker, "but the special part is what I draw."
"Want some paper?," Tae asked.
"Nope," Jung Kook sat up on his knees, "Lay back."
"Why?," the older boy put his arms behind him and leaned back on them.
"Good enough," Kookie smiled and sat in Tae Hyung's lap after he stretched his legs out. He started to place the marker tip on the left side of Tae's chest, right where his heart is, but the older stopped him.
"What are you doing?," he laughed.
Kookie looked up, then lightly smiled, "You'll see."
His words made Tae Hyung blush, for some strange reason. Normally it wouldn't have affected him, but the way Jung Kook's eyes looked in that moment were nothing less than perfect.
The younger looked back to his hyung's chest and pressed the marker to his skin. In a matter of a couple, slow seconds, a medium-sized, perfect heart was on his chest.
Kookie looked up again and his eyes met Tae's. It fell quiet again, then the younger took a deep breath in, "This heart isn't as pretty as yours, but I guess it's the best I got."
"It's perfect," Tae gave him a sincere smile and reached forward with his left hand to place his palm on Jung's cheek.
Kookie glanced down at the heart, but quickly brought his eyes back up, "Do you wanna draw?"
The older boy sighed and pushed himself up, taking hold of the marker with his other hand, "Sure."
Kookie pouted as Tae's hand fell from his cheek, but was over it when his hyung grabbed his right arm.
Tae thought for a second, then smiled. He flipped the younger's arm over, so that his palm faced upwards, and pressed the marker to his forearm.
"I'll write since I can't draw," Tae explained after he was halfway through writing the statement.
"Okay," Jung smiled and looked at Tae Hyung's concentrated face. He was trying his best to make his hand writing neat.
In a little bit, Tae let go of his arm and put the cap back on the marker, "All done," he spoke like a child.
Kookie looked over to see what he wrote and lightly laughed at the words Property of Tae Hyung written out so neatly on his arm.
"Now you can't forget that you belong somewhere," Tae Hyung mumbled, but the short distance between them wasn't good for hiding words.
Another silence befell them. Then Jung Kook found himself leaning towards his hyung.
Tae noticed what he was doing and decided to let Kookie take the reins this time around.
Although the younger was hesitant, he still gave Tae a small, chaste kiss.
When they both had their eyes open again, Tae smirked, "Better Kookie."
"What?!," he asked, with a light blush on his cheeks. It was all he could do to keep from stuttering, "Are you like, tracking my progress or something?"
"Not really, but that was better than before," Tae Hyung reached out and grabbed Kookie's arm. He read over the words again and again, never getting tired of the statement.
"What are we?," Jung Kook suddenly asked.
"What do you mean?," Tae looked up, seeing Kookie's sad eyes.
"Are we...dating or just messing around or...what?," he suddenly couldn't breathe well.
"Well...I love you....so I want you to be my boyfriend," Tae Hyung slowly but surely expressed himself, which was shocking. He hadn't been one to talk about his feelings lately.
"Then ask me properly," Kookie smiled, making Tae lean his head back and sigh.
"Kookie, you know that's difficult for me," he pouted.
Jung acted on impulse, leaning in to place his lips against Tae Hyung's neck.
The older boy brought his head back, but tilted it to the left so that Kookie wouldn't stop. He hated to admit it, but he was always sensitive to this kind of treatment.
Jung Kook let this moment last for about a minute, getting light, breathless moans from Tae. Then he pulled away from him and laid down.
"Tell me when you're confident," Kookie smirked as he got comfortable.
"No," Tae crawled back to the top of the bed, whining, "You can't just stop," he pouted as he laid next to Jung.
"Well, I'll do it again when you ask me to be your boyfriend," he shrugged, already reaching for his phone.
"Wait," Tae caught his arm, the one he wrote on, "Just give me a second."
"Mkay," Kookie brought his hand back to lay on his stomach as he waited for Tae to gather his courage.
About twenty seconds later, he exhaled and looked Jung Kook in the eyes, "Kookie-"
"Wrong," the latter interrupted.
"What?"
"My name is Jung Kook," he started to reach for his phone again.
"Wait, give me another chance," Tae grabbed the younger's hand and interlocked their fingers.
"Okay, but only because your hand is warm," Jung agreed.
Tae rolled his eyes then composed himself, "Jung Kook, will you be my boyfriend?"
Jung gave his hyung his bunny smile then nodded, "Of course, silly. I love you."
"Then why did it matter what I called you?," Tae pouted as he played with the latter's fingers.
"It's just how things are done, Tae," Kookie moved over so that he was snuggled closer to Tae.
"Well, you're Kookie to me," Tae wrapped his arms around the younger, "You always have been."
"Okay, whatever makes you feel better."
"Oh, where'd the marker go?," Tae suddenly sat up, leaving Jung Kook by himself at the top of the bed.
"Why do you need the marker?," Jeon asked.
"I don't, you do," Tae brought the writing utensil up to the latter and handed it to him.
"What am I supposed to do?," Jung sat up.
"Write your name in the heart," he pointed to his chest, "So that you're always in my heart."
"At least until you shower," Kookie chuckled as he started to write his name.
"At least," Tae smiled as he looked down to Jung Kook.
"All done," Kookie leaned back and put the cap on the marker, "and now I'm hungry for some reason."
"C'mon," Tae slid off the bed and held his hands out, "Dinner should be ready by now."
Kookie took his hands and was pulled to his feet.
As they exited the room, Kookie kept thinking about what Tae said...and food.
