I Can't Wait

Tae tapped the envelope against his fingertips. Nothing he thought of made sense anymore. No matter how many times he began to rip a photo, he couldn't ever go through with it. All the memories came flooding back when he saw these pictures.
I can't keep them, Tae sighed to himself, Kookie needs me now, more than he ever has. I won't let him down. I'm not my father.
Tae started to rip apart a photo, but suddenly, two cold hands held his.
He looked up and saw Jung Kook. The younger still looked sick and was still wrapped up in sweatpants and a sweater, along with Tae Hyung's scarf.
"You don't have to do this," Kookie spoke softly, his voice almost gone completely.
Tae glanced at the photo again, then let it fall to the floor between his feet.
Jung Kook slowly sat down in the floor in front of his hyung, "I'm sorry for making you hurt."
Tae shook his head then placed his hand on Jung Kook's shoulder, "You never made me hurt. I've only ever wondered where all your confidence went. Before you kissed me, the very first time, you never showed any insecurities."
"Well," Kookie thought about how to phrase this, "I don't want us to have secrets between us. I've showed you my insecurities and flaws...and my tears."
Tae smiled. He knew it was a big deal for Jung Kook to cry in front of others. He still hasn't even let one tear loose in Jimin's presence.
"When I'm better, we'll put out a lot of photos," Jung kissed Tae's hand, "Of all of us."
"Even Kim hyung and Princess hyung?," Tae leaned in closer to the younger.
"Even them," Kookie smiled, "All of our friends. So, we need pictures of Hobi hyung."
"Ask Ji Min," Tae had a jokingly spiteful tone, "If you can stop staring at his butt long enough to talk to him, that is."
"Hey," Kookie lightly laughed, "I've seen you looking too."
Tae Hyung smiled and pulled Kookie up into his lap, "I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Liar," Jung flipped his love's bangs up into the air, then fixed them when they landed on his forehead again, "but you're my liar, I guess."
"No more doubts, Kookie," Tae hugged the younger, "Promise me."
Jung Kook stayed quiet. Not doubt himself? He'd been doing that for years, he wasn't sure he could stop hating his weaknesses.
"I've made so many promises to you," Tae held Kookie's cold hands in his, "So be fair and make this one giant promise to me."
Jung Kook looked down to Tae, then planted a light kiss on his forehead, "I promise."
Tae Hyung smiled then exhaled, "I love you with everything I have Kookie."
"I love you," Jung put his arms around Tae's neck, "so much more than I can show."

Things had been rough lately, but they stayed together through all of it.
Min-hyung had come back, then left again. After that, Jung Kook's insecurities started to make him think he wasn't wanted.
Tae hadn't really done anything wrong, and he felt that this statement was true.
From the moment Jung Kook first kissed him, he'd only been normal and probably more so since he didn't have to hide anything.
So now, as Tae Hyung laid in bed with Jung Kook beside him, he found himself thinking of what to do for New Years.
Special occasions, such as birthdays or holidays, were usually celebrated between the two of them with sex.
Yeah, there's a lot of holidays, and yes, Kookie doesn't want to do it all that often, but Tae couldn't think of another way to show how much he enjoyed Jung Kook's presence.
Sure he could sing a song, but Jung was a good singer too, so they went to karaoke places all the time, with Jimin beside them. It was something they all did together so it wasn't a special thing for the couple.
When they fooled around, it was, thankfully, just the two of them. It was something only they did together. An official bond between them.
Tae Hyung liked having a bond with someone. He hadn't had a real one since his mother left. Besides Jimin and Jung Kook's friendship with him of course.
"Kookie," Tae Hyung called his name in a quiet voice.
Jung Kook looked away from his phone and smiled, "Yeah?"
"Let's go to Seoul for New Years. We could look at Yoon Gi's company and if you still want to go, I'll help you get there."
"But I thought-"
"What I said was stupid. If you want to be in the same company as Nam Joon and Yoon Gi, then I'll do everything to get you there."
Kookie smiled, then rolled to his side, "Thank you."
"No problem," Tae draped his arm over the younger and pulled him closer for a light hug.
"Don't forget that Jin hyung's there too," Kookie reminded him.
"Oh right," Tae smiled, "I can only ever picture him in his nurse coat, jacket, thing. He's too much of a mother."
"That's not a bad thing," Kookie put his hand on Tae's shoulder, "If we didn't have moms, we'd be completely...stupid, for lack of better words."
"You can't be stupid," Tae rolled his eyes at the thought of Jung Kook failing a test, "You're golden."
"Yeah. Right," Jung lightly laughed, "I still make mistakes, but they help me learn."
"That's good. At least I know you're not a robot," Tae chuckled.
"Well, you're an alien," Kookie moved closer to Tae and snuggled into him, "My alien."
Tae played with the younger's hair, "I can't wait until tomorrow. I'm so gonna show you off to Yoon Gi."
Jung Kook laughed, "Not much to show."
"Hey," Tae put his fingertips on Kookie's chin and made him look up, "I can show him a lot, but you just have to consent."
"Tae!," Jung Kook turned bright red and looked down again, "Why?!"
"Because," he went back to messing with his love's hair, "You're adorable."
