Jung Kook walked up on to the porch and, only then, did he notice the door was slightly open.
"I told you to get out!," Tae's voice erupted out to Jung Kook's ears.
His brain went straight to the worst thing possible. Tae's dad was back.
Kookie rushed inside and dropped the bag next to the door.
There was some relief as he saw Yoon Gi instead of Tae Hyung's father, but he was still worried. Why was Tae yelling at him?
"Jung Kook," Tae stepped around Yoon Gi and put his hands on the younger's shoulders, "Go back to my room and close the door, okay?"
"Wh-Tae what's going on? Wh-"
"Kookie, just," Tae reached down and picked up the bag, handing it back to him, "let me handle this. I know it's confusing so, just go and lay down."
"Tae, will you stop treating me like a kid?," Jung became angry, "I know I'm younger than you, but I'm not stupid!"
"I know, I know. But, please. Just let me do this....I need to. No one else," his voice dropped to a whisper as he spoke.
Jung Kook looked over Tae's shoulder and saw Yoon Gi leaning against the kitchen counter, watching them with a look of jealousy.
"He still loves you, doesn't he?," Jung looked back to Tae, who just nodded.
"Please, Kookie. I'm trying to take control of my life now."
With those words, Jung Kook couldn't fight him anymore. Tae needed to take control. Maybe he'd be happier and less scared that way.
"Okay," Jung nodded and moved around him. He didn't even glance back at Yoon Gi as he went down the hall.
He was just going to go into Tae's room, lay down, and let him handle everything.
"It's over, Yoon Gi! Just go home!," Tae shouted once again.
It'd been half an hour since Jung arrived and it was going on an hour since he left his house. His old house? The place where...his mom was.
Kookie groaned and rolled to his side while simultaneously pulling Tae's pillow over his head. Maybe he could block out the words that spilled from Yoon Gi's mouth.
He was trying to focus on his own thoughts, but all Min-hyung was trying to do was convince Tae Hyung to take him back.
Kookie didn't want that. He wanted to keep Tae and he selfishly wanted Yoon Gi to go home so Tae could lay in here with him and they could talk.
Kookie wanted to talk about them. He was curious to know if Tae saw them together after they graduated.
"Tae, he's a kid! He can't give you what I can!," Yoon Gi's painful words struck Jung Kook's heart.
"Don't you dare talk about Kookie! He's the only reason I'm still alive! You don't have the right!," Tae Hyung defended him, but it didn't take away all of the sting.
Maybe Min-hyung was right. Jung Kook was a kid and his dreams of being an idol left little room for Tae. He couldn't offer his all when half of himself was focused on his future.
"Why are you even in love with him? Jimin told me what happened with you two. Don't you find it strange that he just magically fell in love with you one day?!," Yoon Gi made Kookie cry with those words.
"Get out!," Tae Hyung roared, "Just fucking leave!," his voice was heard above the sounds of a struggle.
He was physically kicking Yoon Gi out of the house...again. When the door slammed shut, the lock clicked and a few loud bangs were heard after.
Then it was silent.
Jung Kook closed his eyes as Tae's footsteps finally began to move toward his room.
The bedroom door opened slowly and it never shut.
Tae stood there, looking at Jung Kook, who was curled up, covered up, and shaking.
"Kookie...are you crying?"
"No," he quietly responded, trying to hide the fact that it was a lie.
Tae lightly smiled and moved over to the bed. He sat down and put his hand on Jung's back, as if telling him to roll over.
Kookie did just that and pulled the pillow off his head. He let Tae pull him into his lap and then he put his arms around his hyung.
"You're really strong Kookie, but sometimes it's okay to cry," Tae lightly stroked the younger's hair, "Yoon Gi has no idea what he's talking about. He's upset, so don't listen to him."
"But he's right," Jung sniffed, "he can take better care of you."
"In what way?"
Jung Kook exhaled and opened his eyes, "He's older. He has more experience with the world. Plus he's almost famous."
"Kookie, how is money better than love? Why would I trade your love for his almost money?," Tae smiled and pressed his lips against the top of the younger's head, waiting for an answer.
"I don't know," Jung shrugged then brought his arms back around to let them rest in his own lap.
"I wouldn't," Tae spoke immediately after Jung was settled, "What I feel with you is different from what I felt with him."
"How did he make you feel?"
Tae lifted his head off Jung's and the younger looked up, "Like every day was some kind of party."
"And me?"
"With you...I can't really explain it. It's warm and fuzzy...so summer. And it's just so...smooth, like ice...that's winter.
Then there are the cool breezes that I feel when you breathe, laugh, or even just speak...that has to be autumn and spring."
"So what does all that mean?," Jung Kook suddenly became interested in the collar of Tae's shirt.
"It means that you make everyday something extraordinary. Think about it. It always just one season, but being next to you makes it everything. So, I've concluded, you're my everything."
That made Jung Kook freeze. He was Tae's everything? Really?
Kookie let his arms snake around Tae's neck and he let his forehead rest against his hyung's shoulder.
"Then what is this place?," Kookie asked, hiding the smirk on his face.
"I told you already, silly," Tae laughed, "This is ours," it went dead silent for a few seconds, then Tae took a deep breath, "And...if you want it...I'm yours."
Kookie looked up, his smile evident, "I'd like that. But, only as long as you'll let me be yours."
"It sounds like a fair trade," Tae nodded, "Deal."
"Seal it," Jung Kook cutely demanded.
Tae smiled and leaned in, lightly placing his lips on the younger's.
