Jung Kook was afraid to go back to the bedroom. He didn't want to want to wake up Tae Hyung.
Tae needed all the rest he could get. Maybe he'd be more alert after a good nights sleep.
When Jimin told Jung Kook to do this, the younger didn't think it'd be so hard.
He waited until after his hyung's birthday, but Jimin said he shouldn't wait any longer than that.
Now, as Jung Kook started to get cold, he moved himself to the hallway.
He sat in front of the heating vent and stared at the door across from him.
Tae was in there...hopefully sleeping.
What have you done, Jung Kook? Tae obviously didn't want to talk about his past. Why bring it up? Because Ji Min said he needed to? That's not enough.
Someone coughing made Kookie jump from his thoughts.
"Kookie!," Tae's voice called for him and he scrambled to his feet.
He launched into the room, heart pounding and eyes watering at the thought of Tae being sick.
"What's wrong?," Jung made his way to the side of the bed where Tae was sitting up, holding his stomach.
"I feel sick," he mumbled.
"Sick how? Does your head hurt, your stomach?"
"My stomach," Tae nodded.
Jung Kook pulled the blankets off Tae's legs then helped him out of bed.
He walked with his hyung to the bathroom and sat next to him in the floor beneath the window.
Jung Kook kept his hand on Tae's shoulder, trying to comfort him.
Suddenly Tae moved and vomited into the toilet bowl.
Kookie scrunched up his nose, but kept his hand on his love's shoulder.
It only lasted a short twenty seconds, but it must've felt like twenty minutes to Tae.
He flushed then sat back against the wall.
"Do you want something to drink?," Kookie was already prepared to get up.
Tae sniffed and nodded, wiping the tears from his eyes.
Jung Kook went to see what they had and simultaneously called his mom.
She picked up almost immediately, "Hey, how are you guys? Are you warm?"
"Yeah, we're fine momma, but Tae has an upset stomach. What should I give him?"
"Well, nothing with acids in it, so juice is a no."
Kookie put the bottle of apple juice back on the shelf, "What about coke? Is that okay?"
"That should be fine. Are you sure you can handle it? I can come look after him if you want."
Jung smiled to himself, "If you want to see me you can just come over."
"Nah," she giggled, "I'm sure you'll manage to live without me."
"You're snowed in too, huh?," Jung made his way back towards the bathroom, where he could hear Tae Hyung vomiting again.
"Yeah, totally stuck," she laughed, "Make sure you let him rest. It sounds awful."
"It is," Kookie sighed, "Gotta go, momma."
"Alright, love you. Tell Tae Hyung I wish he gets better."
"Okay, love you too, bye," Jung hung up and sat next to his love again.
"Are they stuck inside too?," Tae leaned his head against the wall.
"Yeah," Kookie opened the soda can and handed it to Tae, "She said she hopes you get better soon."
"Me too," Tae Hyung smiled, "This sucks."
"It stinks too. We're all hoping it ends," Kookie ran his fingers through Tae's hair and lightly laughed.
Tae smiled a little brighter, "Different reasons though."
"Yeah," Jung brought his knees up and leaned forward.
After taking a drink, Tae turned to his love, "Kookie, why did you say that?"
"Say what?," the younger blinked a few times, trying to keep himself focused.
"That you'd do anything for me."
Jung Kook shrugged. That wasn't even remotely part of what Ji Min told the younger to bring up. It just came out of his mouth.
"Because it's true," he nodded, deciding that was the best, truthful answer.
"What about that wall breaking speech? Where did that come from?"
Kookie bit his lip and looked away, "Promise not to get angry?"
"Is it bad?"
"No," Jung shook his head.
"Then I promise," Tae took another sip of coke. It was already making his stomach feel better. Not cured, but better.
"Ji Min hyung was worried. He asked me to try and get you to talk about what your dad did. We know you haven't always told the truth or...at least, not the whole truth. I never wanted you to talk about it if you weren't comfortable though. But, hyung made a good argument, so I said I'd try."
"I shouldn't be surprised," Tae spun the can in a circle on the floor, "He's been trying for years to help me."
"Why won't you accept our help?," Jung Kook looked back to Tae.
"Because it's never bothered me. I seriously don't know why I broke down today, but I just felt like I needed to. So," Tae reached over and grabbed Kookie's hand, "Thanks for being here."
"Always," Jung tightened his grip on his hyung's hand, "I love you."
"I love you too, Jeon Jung Kook," Tae pulled the younger to his side, "so fucking much."
"Language," Kookie used his annoyed tone, before looking up and smiling.
"It was worth a small scolding," Tae grinned and took another drink.
After that talk, Tae started to gradually feel better over the rest of the day.
He was fine by the time they were getting ready for bed.
Jung Kook climbed into the bed, and covered himself up, tightly pulling the blankets to his body.
That didn't last long though. As soon as Tae got under the covers he grabbed Kookie and pulled the younger to him.
"Tae, it's cold," Kookie whined as he pulled the blankets back tight around him.
"I'll keep you warm. I promise," Tae kissed his love's forehead then let Kookie snuggle into him.
"You better not be lying," Jung mumbled cutely.
"I'd never lie to you. I hate keeping things from you," Tae closed his eyes as his comfort level rose and made him sleepy.
"Good," Jung yawned, "Good night, I love you."
"Love you too," Tae smiled then went to sleep almost at the exact same time as Jung Kook.
