"Purple? Really?," Tae Hyung looked at the box Jung Kook handed to him.
"What's wrong with it? I like it," Kookie put his arms around Tae's neck and stepped closer to him.
Basically no one else was in this store, so he wasn't worried about people seeing.
"Nothing's wrong with it. It's just that, your hair is black. I don't know if it will really show up."
"Well, I don't care if people notice it. As long as we know that's enough," Kookie smiled.
"You know," Tae put his right arm around Kookie's waist, "now that we here, I want to dye my hair too."
"What color?," Jung Kook sweetly asked as he slid his hand across Tae's chest.
"Uh......let's just bleach it," he looked to the shelf beside them.
"But Tae, I want your brown to stay. It looks good on you," Jung Kook pouted, "Besides, you bleached it a year ago."
"Yeah," he took that into account when he let his eyes wander over the colors, "So, maybe.....that one?," he pointed to a blue-ish color.
"Hm," Jung looked to the box, then to Tae and back. He was imagining his hyung with that...and it didn't look bad, "Yeah. It'll look better as it fades too."
"Okay, then I'll get that one. It has Kookie's approval," Tae grinned then stepped away to grab it.
"This is so messy," Tae Hyung laughed as he cleaned up the sink.
"Well, when you're finished, I'm sure you're hair will look great," Kookie put his arms around Tae's waist, mindful not to lean his head against his hyung's shirt.
Tae stood still and kept quiet for a while. He was smiling at what he saw in the mirror in front of them.
Jung Kook looked into the reflection of Tae Hyung's eyes and smiled back.
"Hey, Kookie," he took a deep breath and placed his hand over Jung's arm, "My dad....he's not going to get out of jail anytime soon-"
"Tae," Jung whispered his name in a sigh.
"But the government is giving me the house. Since I'm almost eighteen. I know it's a long shot, but...would you...want to move in with me?"
"Tae, I don't want you to go back there," Kookie shook his head and slightly squinted.
"I want to though. It was were mom raised me....so I want to be there, but only if you're there with me."
Jung sniffed then let his arms fall from Tae's waist. They faced each other and Kookie smiled, "I'll think about it."
"Okay," Tae Hyung started to lift his hand so the younger closed his eyes, "By the way, you're going to have a purple spot on your forehead."
"What?!," Jung Kook quickly opened his eyes and leaned on the sink to look in the mirror.
"Yeah, it's small though," Tae took a step back so Jung couldn't immediately hit him.
"Ugh, Tae, you gave me a heart attack," Kookie hung his head and the timer on his phone went off simultaneously.
"Sorry," the older boy moved to turn off the alarm, "But I'll make it up to you and help you get the dye out."
Kookie turned a light red shade then stood up straight, "I guess it's only fair."
"What? Really?," Tae smiled, "I was expecting you throw me out of the bathroom."
"No," Kookie shrugged, "Besides, you need to wash yours out too."
Tae Hyung grabbed the younger's waist and pulled his back to his chest, "Get the water started."
Jung dropped his head and sighed, "You don't always have to be so seductive," he stepped towards the shower and turned on the water.
When he turned around he saw Taehyung lay his phone back on the sink. Then his Bluetooth speaker started to play loud music.
"Tae," Jung crossed his arms.
"Hey, it's just in case. You never know what you'll feel like," he grinned and pulled off his shirt, carefully so he wouldn't get anything on it.
Kookie turned away and went to get towels from the closet.
Tae was tricking him, he knew that, so he'd just ignore the teasings.
"Hurry up Kookie," Tae Hyung called, already in the shower.
"I'm coming," Jung dropped the towels in the floor outside the shower.
He kept listening to the music as he slowly undressed. Then he noticed the small silent gap between songs. What if something did happen? What if his mom could hear them during that silent moment?
Stop, he thought, just get in and get out. No big deal. Besides, you love Tae Hyung.
He opened the door and stepped in, seeing the last bit of blue wash out of Tae's hair.
Kookie closed the door and stood away from his hyung. His heart was racing and he was sure his face was red.
"All of it's out, Tae," Jung lightly spoke.
The older boy smoothed his hair back and stepped away from the water, "Then come here," he reached out for Jung's arm, but the younger moved it away.
Tae's smile faded and Kookie looked down, "Sorry Tae. It's just weird...or nerve-wracking...or something-"
"Kookie, it's okay," Tae Hyung grinned, "I was just joking."
Jung gave him a look and he sighed.
"Alright I wasn't joking, but....we don't have to do anything. I mean, it's not like it's a requirement or something."
"Yeah, but," Jung Kook shrugged, "It's something you want...and I want you to be happy."
"It won't make me happy if you're not ready for it," Tae shook his head, "Now move over here," he grabbed the younger's shoulders and put him under the water, "And close your eyes."
Kookie slowly closed his eyes and exhaled. He let the water fall over him and he felt Tae's hands on his head, both of them.
So he really wouldn't try anything.
Jung Kook really wanted to say I love you, but if he did, he would've gotten hair dye in his mouth. That wouldn't have been good.
