"Hey Kookie," Tae crouched in the floor beside the younger's desk, "I was wondering if we could stop by my house on the way home?"
"Yeah, sure. Why?," even if he agreed, Jung Kook wanted to know the reason for having to walk extra today.
"Well, I need some stuff and....I want you to look at the place. Maybe it'll help you decide if you want to move."
A small smile appeared on the younger's face and he reached down to ruffle Tae's hair, "Okay."
"Mr. Kim, please take a seat," the school principal came into the room a minute before break was over.
Tae stood up and sat down in his seat beside Kookie.
Everyone's attention shifted from Tae to the principal and he started to speak.
"It's come to my attention that some students are sexually active in this school. So, starting tomorrow, everyone will have a Sex Education class added to their schedule."
Half the class felt indifferent to the news and a third if them were complaining already.
Tae and Jung Kook looked to each other, then Jimin, who had hung his head when the words sexually active were mentioned. At lunch, Jimin didn't run out of the room like normal. He just sat in the exact same position, not even noticeably breathing.
"Jiminnie," Tae called out to him, but he only closed his eyes.
"Tae," Kookie pat his hyung's arm, "Just let him be."
"Jung, no. He's our friend and I'm going to talk to him," Tae whispered back to him.
"Listen to Kookie," Jimin suddenly stood up and made his way towards the door, "Leave me alone for a little bit."
"Jimin, I just wanna talk to you," Tae Hyung grabbed his friend's shoulders and kept him from leaving.
"Talk about what?! Tae!," Jimin started to shout, "No matter what I say you won't understand!"
"Then help me to understand!," Tae shouted back.
Jung Kook stood back from this. He hadn't known Jimin as long as Tae Hyung had.
"Tae Hyung, it doesn't matter! Someone found out about me and Ho Seok. It's over! He won't like me anymore if he can't get something out of me."
Tae frowned and gripped his friend tighter, "If all he wants is a play thing, then you don't need to be with him."
"But that's not all he wants! It sounds that way, but...."
"But what," Tae Hyung raised his eyebrow, "Jimin, does he love you or not?"
"I don't....I don't know. We're both too stubborn to say it and I don't want to bring it up. If he doesn't love me I'd be heart broken."
Suddenly Jung Kook spoke up, "Tell him that you don't just want sex. It's not like it's a requirement or anything to keep your relationship."
Tae looked over to Jung Kook, and Jimin as well.
Tae gave him a small smile, but Jimin just walked pass the both of them into the hall.
Tae sighed, "Let's go eat, Kookie."As they sat in the lunch room, Tae suddenly broke their silence by slamming his hand on the table.
Kookie jumped and looked up, "Tae, what's wrong?"
"Jimin," he simply replied, "Sorry Kookie. I didn't mean to scare you."
"No, it's fine. What about hyung?," Jung Kook grabbed his bowl of soup, just in case Tae flipped the table or something.
"He doesn't know how to deal with these things, Jung. He's never known how."
Tae hung his head and let his hands fall into his lap.
Jung Kook put his bowl down and reached over to grab his hyung's forearm, "Why do you do this to yourself?"
"Do what?"
"It's not your fault," Jung shook his head and dropped his voice to a whisper, "You can't help someone who's too afraid of being hurt."
"What does that mean?," Tae Hyung turned his head to look at the younger with a confused expression.
"It means that Ho Seok is Jimin's safety blanket....metaphorically, so he won't let go."
"Kookie, I love you, but I don't care. All I want is to know if he's happy. If he's not....I'm his best friend and I need to help him."
"I know," Jung Kook nodded, "I understand why you're worried, but I can't understand why you blame yourself."
"Because I wasn't there to warn him. I didn't tell him that this could end badly. He doesn't think about those things he just believes that it will all work out with no problems."
"Maybe that's a good thing," Kookie forgot where they were and put his hand on Tae's cheek, "He refuses the bad stuff, so he's always our sunshine."
Tae Hyung lightly smiled then let his hand rest on the younger's knee, "Maybe it is a good thing.....but you realize that people are probably staring at us."
Kookie turned a bright red color and hung his head. He let his hand fall to Tae's shoulder then he exhaled, "You know what? I don't even care anymore."
Tae laughed and ruffled Kookie's hair, "Your fan club will care."
"I hate to be mean, but it's not like they can match you," Jung looked up and smiled.Jimin came back after lunch, but didn't talk to them for the rest of the day. When it was time to go home, Park met Ho Seok outside their classroom.
Tae Hyung seemed a little down, but Jung Kook grabbed his hand and gave him a small smile. It helped a little and Tae Hyung walked with him.
