After dinner that night, the two of them went back to Kookie's room.
Since their break from school just started, they both agreed to laying around and doing nothing. Eventually Tae Hyung fell asleep, leaving Kookie up by himself.
It was only eight, so he was no where near close to tired. He was just laying next to Tae, his head on his hyung's chest.
He traced the heart lightly with his index finger, and then his name. It made him smile. He actually loved the fact that Tae was showing proof he loved him.
"Jung?," his mother knocked on the door and Kookie hurriedly sat up. He grabbed a blanket and covered Tae's chest then put on a jacket to hide his arm. Only once that was done did he open the door.
"Hey, is Tae Hyung still here?," she smiled.
"Yeah, he's sleeping," Kookie smiled back as his mom reached out and started to fix his hair.
"Well, when he wakes up, take him home. His father keeps calling," she lightly frowned and started to walk away.
Jung Kook grabbed her arm though, making her stay in front of him. He stepped into the hall and closed the door, "Momma, I....Tae needs to live here."
"Live...why?," she furrowed her brow.
"His dad," Jung let go of her arm and tried to leave it at that, hoping she wouldn't pry.
His hopes were crushed though, "What about his dad?"
"He's been drinking since the divorce," Kookie crossed his arms.
"And?"
"And.....he beats hyung," Jung glanced up to see her eyes showing disbelief, "Momma, I've seen the bruises and cleaned the blood off his face. I know what's happening."
"Then why didn't you tell me or the police at that?!"
"Because his dad is on the police force, remember? He could find the case and make sure it never got....investigated or whatever, but the point is, it's useless."
"I want proof," she dropped down to a serious tone.
Kookie sighed and dropped his arms to his sides. He didn't want her to see the bruise, but if it meant she would let him stay, he'd have to.
"Okay, but don't freak out, please," Jung opened the door and led her into the room.
She left the door open after seeing Tae Hyung laying in bed, shirtless.
Kookie crouched beside the bed and lightly shook Tae, "Hyung roll over."
After a few seconds, he groaned slightly, "No."
"Tae, please," the younger whispered, "I just wanna look."
"It's unattractive," he mumbled, "No one can see it."
"Tae," Kookie breathed his name out, "Pretty please? It's for your own good."
Quietly, Tae Hyung rolled over, sliding his arms under the pillow as well.
"Oh my god," Jung's mother spoke before he could tell her to be quiet.
At the sound of her voice, Tae Hyung tensed up, and raised his head.
The mother stared at this child's back, wondering how any human could do that to a kid.
"This is almost healed," she pointed to him, crying now, "How long has that been there?"
"A while," Kookie responded as he sat on the bed next to Tae.
The older boy wrapped his arms around the younger's waist, laying his head on Jung's lap. He also moved to lay on his side so that she could no longer see the bruise. It was ugly.
"I don't care where your father works, I'm calling the police," she stormed out of the room, tears staining her cheeks.
"Kookie?," Tae Hyung looked up, "He's gonna take me back now."
"No," Jung Kook grabbed his hand, "I won't let him do anything to you anymore."
"He won't let me stay with you," Tae Hyung's voice cracked, so Jung knew he was about to cry.
"Tae, don't worry," Kookie smiled down at the hyung who he loved so dearly, "He can't touch you now."
"I have to go back," Tae started to get up and was almost off the bed, but Kookie lunged forward and put his arms around his hyung's waist.
"No, Tae. Please!," Kookie pulled his hyung and they fell back to sit once again, only this time Tae was positioned between Kookie's legs, "You can't go back!"
"I have to," Tae calmly said and tried to get up once again.
Kookie was determined to make him stay though, so the older boy's attempts were pointless, "Hyung I love you so, so, so, much. I can't stand to see you frown. I sure as hell won't let you go back to a place where you're sure to be hurt."
"So you think he doesn't love me anymore?," Tae softly asked as he looked over his shoulder.
Kookie just sighed and lightly nodded, "He's missing out, though."
Tae gave a small laugh, then slouched over, "I wouldn't want me either."
"Tae," Kookie laid his forehead against his hyung's back, "Don't say that."
"But it's true," he sniffed.
Jung licked his lips then closed his eyes, "I don't know what you're going through. I can't even imagine how it feels. Seriously though, fuck your dad. He's horrible. I know you love him, like any child loves their parents, but you don't deserve this. You never have."
"Kookie, just stop," Tae sighed out quietly.
"And for what it's worth, I want you. I'd even say that I crave you. You can't leave me now. You already confessed so now you're just stuck with me," Jung Kook smiled to himself.
"Kookie," Tae started to softly move now. His hard, tense motions had left him, probably taking his energy with them, "Those words," he turned around to face the younger, "are worth all the money in the world and my weight in perfect diamonds"
Jung Kook threw his arms around his hyung's neck, gently pressing his lips against the soft flesh, "You mean the world to me Tae. I'm not going to let you go."
Tae Hyung stayed quiet for the next two minutes, then kissed Jung's cheek, "Okay, I'll stay."

Jung Kook's mom came back to the room a little while later. She was able to figure out what was going on between the two of them since they forgot about the heart on Tae's chest. She was a smart woman so it didn't take long for her to understand.
She really didn't seem to care either because she just went on telling them what the social worker said.
"So, can he stay?," Kookie grabbed Tae's hand.
"Yeah, he can stay," she nodded then stood up. His mother was almost out of the room when she turned back and asked, "You haven't done anything, have you?"
"Mom!," Jung Kook shouted and blushed. Tae just looked over and smiled at the younger.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Concerned mother leaving," she held up her hands as she exited, closing the door as well.
Kookie sighed and laid his head on Tae Hyung's shoulder, "Why did she have to bring that up?"
"Because she saw me shirtless and you looking guilty," Tae joked.
"Hush," he closed his eyes, "I can barely kiss you right. I don't think I can do anything more....advanced," Jung Kook started to laugh before he even finished.
"I'll teach you that too," Tae let his free hand come up to play with Jung's hair.
"Ugh, Tae," Kookie pouted and started to blush again.

Tae hadn't been sleeping well for the pass few nights, but tonight he was thankful for it.
He woke up immediately when he heard glass shattering.
Jung Kook was still wrapped up in his arms, so he was safe.
Then the sound of a lock clicking sounded in his ears.
He quickly sat up, suddenly forgetting that Kookie was comfortably sleeping.
"Tae?," the younger mumbled.
"Stay here, Kookie," Tae Hyung threw the covers off him and got up.
"What? Tae, what's happening?," Jung propped his body up on his arm as his hyung climbed out of bed.
"I don't know," he whispered while moving towards the door.
"Tae!," Kookie shouted in a whisper after a loud crash came from the hallway.
The older boy looked back and motioned for him to be quiet.
The one night we decide to leave the door open, Tae thought as he stepped out into the hallway.
He grabbed the baseball bat Kookie kept outside his door and slowly made his way down the hall.
As he rounded the corner to the living room, he lowered the bat, "Dad?"
"Tae Hyung," the drunk smiled at him. He took a step and stumbled, recreating the sound from earlier.
"What are you doing here?," Tae moved back from him.
"You're my son. I came to take you home," the drunken man managed to walk over and stand in front of the kid.
"You're drunk-"
"No, I'm not," he shook his head.
"Dad, you need to go home. You're not well," he put his hand on his shoulder lightly.
"At least let me look at you before you make me leave," his father knocked his hand away and looked his kid up and down.
He was smiling for a little bit, then that disappeared, "Oh, that's right. You're an insult to God."
"What?"
"That," he pointed to the heart on Tae's chest, "it's proof of your sin. Where is he? Where is that little shit?!"
Now his father was yelling and trying to get pass Tae into the hall.
"Stop!," Tae Hyung was able to push him back just enough that he could lift the baseball bat in his hand.
"Don't order me around!," the father grabbed the bat and yanked it from his son's hand, "It's his fault you're this way! I'm gonna kill him!"
Tae Hyung could hear Kookie and his parents come running from their bedrooms.
So much was happening and he was angered by his father's words.
"Tae, get away from him!," he heard Jung Kook shouting at him from the end of the hall.
Tae Hyung pushed his dad back again as he rushed toward Jung Kook. He'd found hidden strength and used it.
"Why are you protecting him?!," his father shouted, "He's warping your mind! Come home with me," he stepped closer, "We can get you help. You'll forget everything and never have to see this faggot ever ag-"
Tae threw a punch after registering his father's words. He hit the drunk, immediately knocking him out.
His father fell to the floor with a busted nose and lip.
Tae looked to his hand once he finally came back to reality and saw his knuckles covered in blood.
Jung Kook ran towards him and wrapped his arms around his hyung, "Tae!"
The older boy could feel Jung's tears on his skin.
Next, his parents rushed pass them towards the phone.
Tae Hyung turned around, facing the younger, "I-I'm fine."
Kookie placed his hands on either side of Tae Hyung's face, "Are you sure? Tae, look at me!"
The elder's eyes darted to the younger and he saw the tears trailing down his cheeks.
Tae brought his clean hand up from his side to wrap around his shoulders and pull him close. He kissed the top of his head as Jung cried into chest.
"I'm okay, Kookie. I'm not going anywhere," he whispered.

Tae sat on the front steps as the cops put his dad into the back of their car. The drunk had woken up earlier, but was in too much pain to move.
After that, Jung's dad walked back towards the house. He stopped in front of him and held out his hand.
Tae looked up to him and reached out his hand as well, shaking Kookie's dad's.
"You kept my family safe. Thank you," he smiled.
Tae just nodded and let him go back into the house. Then he looked across the street and saw the neighbors lined up on the sidewalk, just gossiping.
He stood up and went inside, locking the door back behind him; although, it didn't matter since the glass was broken.
