The next afternoon, Jung Kook walked the rest of the way home by himself. As Tae has said yesterday night, he was going to clean up the house that would soon be theirs.
Oh...yesterday night. Jung Kook blushed at the memory. Things got a little out of hand, but he still couldn't bring himself to go all the way. Tae surprisingly didn't seem to mind either.
Through five minutes of love bites and kisses, Kookie held in his moans too. He wanted to save those for Tae Hyung to hear later...also, he never wanted his mother to hear them.
"Hey, Jung Kook!," someone called to him and he paused in place. He looked up and saw no one, so he turned around. Min-hyung, or Yoon Gi, was jogging up to him.
"Hey, hyung. Long time, no see," Kookie smiled the best he could with the knowledge of Tae's past relationship beating inside his mind.
"Yeah, how've you been?," Yoon Gi smiled.
"Um....I'm great, actually," Jung nodded, "How've you been doing?"
Min looked forward and cleared his throat, "Well, I'm a trainee at a...medium-sized company. They're letting me write my own stuff, so I'm fantastic."
"That's awesome," Kookie could legitimately smile for this one. He was jealous now, too. Min-hyung got to be a rapper and he was stuck in school.
"You know, your English teacher has actually been a trainee for a while. And the nurse is deciding whether he wants to do music or modeling."
"Seriously?," Jung's jaw dropped, "At the same company you're in?"
"Yeah, all three of us," Yoon Gi nodded, "It's strange how things come together that way, isn't it?"
"Yeah, extremely," Kookie let his gaze fall to the sidewalk, "So, what are you doing here then? Wouldn't you rather be in Seoul?"
"Nah, not really. Ilsan's where my mom is," he smiled, "Plus I'm on break."
"Oh, right. I forgot you went to school with us," Kookie lightly laughed.
"Rude," Yoon Gi playfully scoffed, "I thought we were friends."
"We are," Jung reached over and grabbed his hyung's forearm, "Please don't strike me down, oh-powerful Min-hyung."
"I'll show mercy this time," he replied with a laugh, "But only if you get Tae Hyung and Ji Min to come with you and have lunch with me."
"When?," Kookie let go of his arm.
"My last day here is Thursday, so tomorrow," Yoon Gi suggested, "Tomorrow is your half day, right?"
"Yeah. I can do tomorrow...maybe. Can Ji Min bring his friend?," Jung thought of Jimin leaving school with Ho Seok...again today.
"Yeah, of course. The more the merrier," Min agreed.
"Then I'll text him and let him know," Jung smiled.
"Thanks. See ya tomorrow," Yoon Gi waved as he stopped walking alongside the younger and fell back to run in the opposite direction.
Jung looked back to the ground and continued on his way home.
Aw, c'mon! Now it's too quiet! Tae, I'm lonely! Come rescue me!"Ow!," Tae pulled his hand back once he felt the sting of a cut.
Great. Now I have another. At least Kookie will take care of me.
Tae smiled at that thought and put his finger in his mouth, tasting the nasty alcohol from all the bottles he'd been picking up.
"Gross," he said to himself as he stood up with glass pieces in his hand. He couldn't understand why his dad liked the taste of beer so much. He could barely stand the smell of it.
I'll never let Kookie near this stuff. It's bad for his health and I don't want him to end up like my father. I won't become that either...for him.
The doorbell rang and Tae smiled. Jung Kook probably came since he was bored.
Tae Hyung threw the glass away and wiped his hands on the dish towel before he rushed towards the door.
"Kookie, you can just come in," he spoke loudly as he opened the door.
Then Tae froze when he saw Yoon Gi, "Not Jung Kook. Sorry."
"Um...no. It's fine. I just thought he'd be bored. Uh...do you need something?"
"Well, I wanted to talk to you. And I'm not busy, so I figured that I could help you clean," he pointed to the room behind Tae, where the sofa was still out of place, "Besides, the last time was actually fun."
Tae felt his smile drop as he remembered that day. It was the day they broke up.
"You know what?," Tae stepped to the side, "The living room is a complete wreck. I could use the extra hands."
Yoon Gi smiled then stepped inside.I wonder what Tae's up to. Well, I know he's cleaning, but maybe he took a break. Maybe he's relaxing in his room. He could use some down time.
Jung Kook rolled over, on to his stomach, and pulled his phone from underneath his pillow.
He wanted to text his....boyfriend, but he didn't want to bother him at the same time.
They'd been together, practically all the time, ever since he came over that weekend. God, that seemed like it was so long ago. In actuality it had only been a few months.
What ever happened to those letters? They seemed to disappear after Tae started living with him.
The last place he remembered having one was in the floor when he threw it down and woke Tae up.
Maybe they were under the bed?
Kookie moved so that he hung off the side of the bed and he pulled the cover up so he could look underneath.
He saw an envelope and figured that must be it, so he grabbed it.
Only when he sat up, did he realize how wrong he was...and how hurt he felt.
Inside this envelope were polaroid photos of Tae and Yoon Gi.
