53. Lesson Learned

Meek- what happened baby? Did somebody do something to you?

Nicki- no

Meek- then what happened?

He sat down on the bed and pulled me down on his lap.

Nicki- Draya's b-boyfriend c-c-ame

Meek- stop and calm down first

I took a few breaths and got myself together.

Nicki- I went to go visit Lindsey today and Draya popped up over there with bruises all over her and then her boyfriend showed up and beat her again in front of me, Lindsey and her daughter. She had to be rushed to the hospital Meek. She was bleeding everywhere.

Meek- damn, is she ok?

Nicki- I don't know, she's in a coma right now. Lindsey stayed up there with her and her daughter. It just made me realize how lucky we are to have each other and we shouldn't be fighting over something so small.

Meek- I agree. And I apologize for not being there as much as you want me too but don't say I don't do nothing with them because I do.

Nicki- I know but when I have to get up at 4 in the morning with them while you get to sleep it makes me mad. I wanna sleep in too but I can't and if I can't then you shouldn't either. I just need you to be there more.

Meek- ok, whatever will keep us from arguing I'll do.

Nicki- you promise?

Meek- I promise

Nicki- ok, I love you

Meek- I love you too

Nicki- I'm sorry..

Meek- me too

It was almost 1 am and I could barely keep my eyes open. I fell asleep on top of Meek with all 4 of us in the same bed.

Nicki- is she ok?

Lindsey- the doctor said she should make a full recovery but she still hasn't came out of the coma. This is just sad Nicki.

Nicki- I know, I just could get that image of him kicking and punching her out of my head. I even dreamt about it.

Lindsey- I  know, I talked to a few police officers and gave them a description of that bastard. I hope they catch him.

Nicki- I know. How is Asiah doing?

Lindsey- I don't think she realizes that it's Draya laying up there because she keeps asking where her mommy is. He beat her so bad that her own daughter doesn't even recognize her. I try and keep her out for as long as I can tho.

Nicki- well I'll be up there a little later to check on you guys. Do you have work today?

Lindsey- no, I took off for the next few days.

Nicki- ok, well I'll see you in a little bit

Lindsey- ok

Meek- what she say?

Nicki- she said she's still in a coma and she's unrecognizable but she's going to be ok.
