Hey guys :) ive decided I'm gonna try and upload my story pieces every 2-3 days (or occasionally smaller pieces when I want to upload quicker)

Today you get your first glimpse of a new important character :) so I hope y'all are as excited as I am about this..

----------------chapter 2 starts here---------------

I woke up in the bed that I had woken up so many times before. But still it felt strange.. Wait no, that didn't matter. Flipsyde was over and I had 3 months of fun ahead of me.

"Marcus honey! You up?" I heard my mom call.. "I made your favorite- waffles!"

"Waffles!" I shouted, running down the stairs- after three months I could be picky about what I eat again!!

My mother watched in awe as I ran, my hands outstretched and... Hugged my plate of waffles..

"There was a time when that hug was for me" she joked- unable to hold back a chuckle.

Yep that's my mom.. We're always joking around with each other.

About my family- it's me, my mom Sara, my uncle Dave and my brother Christopher..

My dad passed away when I was five- killed on a raid while stealing to keep us alive. Since then, my uncle stepped in to help us out financially, and even fueling the frustration dad's usually do- like making my career choices and threatening to not let me play my video games if I failed my tests..

My mom doesn't exactly love the fact that he's in the police- he might not come home one night, or even the fact that he desperately wants me to join- apparently it was my father's last wish.. But he does truly love us, and that's what matters...

-----------------------------------------------------------------

It all started late that night- after a day so fun that it should have been illegal- three hours of school, followed by bowling, basketball with friends and finally a movie.. I was so tired my legs felt like jelly.. I jumped onto the bed, switched off the lights and just lay there thinking about the whole day, and enjoying the peace of the night..

As I was about to drift off, I heard a light tap.. Nothing much, probably just a bird on the window.. But then again it might not have been.. I forced myself back into an alert state, and listened carefully.. I heard a light footstep, and immediately knew something was wrong.. Unless my mom somehow made it 15 feet across the room without me knowing, whoever was in here definitely came from the window..

I was facing towards the wall, with my gun (obviously everyone had a gun to protect themselves.. What do you think it was? The 2020's??) being across the room (on the side I had my back to) in a small desk.. Keeping it right next to me would have been way too obvious.. But now those 10 feet seemed like 10 miles..

I turned in my bed- trying to mimic a person tossing around in his sleep.. This was risky, but it was the only way to get to that side of the bed without completely alerting who had broken in.. Peeping from in between my almost closed eyelids, I saw the intruder turn and fix their gaze on me- trying to discern if I was actually asleep or if I was alerted to their presence..

After 5 minutes or so of me being frozen in place, the intruder- finally satisfied that I was asleep, turned around and took another step towards the center of my room..

As  the intruder silently made his way forward, I slowly lowered myself to the floor and began to crawl over to that desk- my only hope here

My heart thumping, I slowly made the first foot, the second, the third- just hoping that the intruder wouldn't hear me.. I was too afraid to even turn back and look as I slowly, but steadily made my way ahead..

Seconds turned to hours as I closed in on that last foot to the desk.. I quickly stood up and opened the drawer with my left hand, as I grabbed the gun and cocked it with my right hand, swiveling in place as I did so, shouting the words "hands up!"

The figure slowly raised its hands- no weapon in them.. I sighed in relief..

I stepped backwards, fumbling for the light switch as I ordered the intruder to turn around.. As the lights came on, it revealed that the intruder was a girl- not a very old one at that.. Probably around my age.. She looked at my gun and her eyes widened in fear..

I pondered over what to do, keep her here and call for the police? Or should I let her go?

I looked into her eyes again.. That same fear. Not the eyes of a skilled thief, or a murderer, but that of a young girl frightened- nearly to death if I may say..

And then I made a decision- one which would change my life forever..

"Go," I said, lowering the gun..

She gave me a look of gratitude before she broke into a run- straight for my window..

She couldn't possibly be thinking of jumping- we were 2 floors above ground level!!

And then she jumped.

I rushed to the window to make sure she didn't hurt herself, but I could find no trace of her.. The nearest tree was about 10 feet away and 3 feet down.. She couldn't possibly have made that jump... Or could she? I'd have to ask her how when I next saw her

But I never saw her.. Until

------------- End of chapter 2-------------

So how does it look? I personally love how the mystery girl disappeared like that :)

And the part where she invoked that doubt in him- to let her go.. Do you guys think it was just her nature? Or did she play him like a violin?

Comment and follow if you like it :)

Just comment if you don't :)
