Hey guys :) updating a few hours early since I won't be here tonight :)

I better get 20 thank you notes for breaking the suspense early :p

Jk guys hope you enjoy :)

------------ chapter 7 begins here------------

I looked down from atop the wall. Though it was dark, the streetlights spread a faint greenish-yellow light- almost like that of a firefly. Hundreds  of them spread as far as I could see- it was beautiful... Though nothing less was expected from the rich side.

There weren't any trees in sight, but there were some fairly thick bushes- those would provide a good hiding spot while I was on the ground. Looking around one last time to check for a better spot, I decided to climb down here.

Climbing down the wall wasnt anywhere near as hard as getting up.. Piece of cake.. Anyone could do it!

Don't tell me you believed that! And if anyone ever tells you climbing down a wall is easy, just roll your eyes and walk away.

What a lot of people don't know is that when you're climbing down, the footholds are much farther from your face meaning a higher chance of slipping and having to hang  on for dear life. Also, while climbing, if you put too much force in, gravity will just correct you. If you allow yourself to descend too quick, gravity will just make it harder- pulling you down and stretching your muscles.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't harder than climbing up. Just that it isn't any easier than climbing up. If Christopher ever asks, you guys need to take my side on this!!

As I neared the bottom five feet, I jumped off and landed in the bush. I looked around- nobody seemed to have heard it.

I sat wondering which house I should target. Considering it was about dinnertime, I wanted a higher floor- maybe two floors up,  with the lights out in the room I would enter.

As I scouted around, one house caught my eye. A three storey house with a tree overlooking a window. There was no light coming out of the window and it was two floors up. Undoubtedly this was the house I was looking for.

As I tensed up my leg muscles to make a break for the tree, I heard a slight rustle. I froze and looked in the direction of the sound. Two men in police uniforms were walking in my direction. Luckily they didnt seem to have noticed me- I was just about to run straight through their line of sight!!

I waited for them to pass, and just as they turned a corner, I ran across the gap to reach the tree.. I stretched my muscles and warmed my hands- I had some climbing to do.

After the glorious process of climbing the tree- similar to the glorious process of climbing the wall, I finally rested (out of breath of course) atop the branch overlooking the window. It wasn't a big gap- maybe a foot and a half- it would be pretty easy to get into the house.

I peeked inside- the lights were out with nearly no movement. It was definitely too early for someone to go to sleep, so I calmed myself and stretched my hand towards the windowsill.

----------------------------------------------------

Once inside the room, I looked around. The room had many glow in the dark stars- emitting a faint pink light which made the whole room glow with a pinkish hue- probably a girl's room- which was good- if we came face to face, I'd probably be able to overpower her and run. A thorough sweep of the room revealed that there was nobody here.

I slowly made my way towards the center of the house- my eyes slowly adjusting to the light of the grand chandelier hanging from the ceiling. I had to make sure that nobody would interrupt me while I was raiding.

As I peeked over a  banister and down a  spiral staircase, I saw a family- a dad, a mom and two boys eating dinner.

And that's when I saw her.. It was her!! that girl from my room!!

She looked so different.. Her black hair was no longer tied up in a ponytail- it was long and wavy- about neck length- bouncing up and down as she walked up to her dad. I couldn't see her eyes from this angle, but with her beautiful dress,  that kind of hair and a face like that, I was surprised i had been able to say something at all the last time..

I forced myself to snap out of it! This was not the time!! Christopher needed me! And in spite of what I did for her, she might not give me the same option if she caught me raiding..

I slowly tiptoed back into her room and started gathering anything of value- a spare phone I found (no I wasnt heartless enough to take the phone she uses), a laptop, a wad of cash lying around, a couple of video game consoles, an iPad, some small gadgets and her wallet.

That should be enough- I thought as I picked up my bag to put it on.

At that very moment, I heard the cocking of a pistol- and the words "hands up"

I cursed under my breath.  I was so close to getting away too! This was definitely her.. I'd never heard her speak, but I could tell it was her voice.. But the real question was- would she recognize me?

"DAD!! Come here quick!!" The voice shouted.

My heart plunged. Having to take on one person was one thing, taking on two was a whole other ball game. The odds of me making it back we're getting smaller and smaller.

"Turn around-slowly" the voice said harshly.

I slowly started to turn, watching her reaction as she did so.

Her jaw dropped as I turned.. "You?" She uttered as she lowered her gun.

I nodded.

"Wh-" she started to say as she was cut off by footsteps. She glanced towards the door, and charged at me-the force knocking my backpack out of my hand and me out of the window.

"Nice to see you too" I thought as I fell the twenty-odd feet into a bush and blacked out.

---------------------------------

When I regained my senses, I saw a paper airplane fly out the window, do a couple of loops only to finally hit me on the nose.

On opening up, it revealed a message.. Meet me under the bridge tomorrow at 5:45 pm

I didn't know what this was about, but if I could possibly convince her, maybe it would help Christopher...

Still, I knew I had failed in the raid today- if only I was able to hold onto the bag, just maybe i would have had enough to save him.. Knowing that today's failure could be the difference between Christopher's life and death, I started the long sad journey back home.

------------ end of chapter 7------------

I know it ended on a sad note, but I personally found it super adorable that she knocks him out of the window to save him xD xD xD
