Under the bridge

Hey guys :) before the start of chapter 15, I'd like to thank a lot of people :)

----------------start of chapter 15---------------

As I climbed down the wall on the rich side, I was excited. I really wanted to find out more about this girl Isa.. 

As I made my way to the bridge, I raised my level of alertness. I didn't want to get startled like last time.. On reaching the bridge, I peeked through the vines.. 

And what I saw made my heart sink..

It was Isa.. But she wasn't alone. And by not alone, I mean with a guy. And when I say with a guy, I mean kissing the guy..

I was heartbroken.. I had known there was no way that a girl like her could ever like a guy like me.. With a smile which could light up Tartarus itself, her beautiful hair and most important of all, that innocence in her eyes.. Her big beautiful brown eyes..

But still, something in me snapped. A faint glimmer of hope- extinguished..

I couldn't stay there.. As i stepped back, I tripped over a rock- falling to the ground with a thud. There was no way they couldn't have heard that.. The vines slowly started moving- and I prepared myself for what was to come..

I woke up- completely out of breath. I wasn't sure to be relieved that it was just a dream, or not.. I mean yes she was gorgeous. But I didn't even know her.. Then again, I could just stare into those eyes for an eternity..

I paused.. I shouldn't be thinking like this about her.. If there was any quality I should be describing about her, it was her nature, her playful remarks and her ability to make jumps worthy of a superhero movie while raiding.

I stopped as soon as I realized I was thinking about her again.. This time I wouldn't think about her- no matter what. 

I looked down at my phone as an alarm beeped. "Meet Isa at 3:45 pm"

I cursed as thoughts of Isa flooded back into my mind.. This was gonna be a long day..

This time I took a different route to the wall. I knew that the old route would just remind me of what happened in the dream. The new route passed by a set of relatively high buildings- The apartment complexes- which provided me with shade from the afternoon sun. 

There were four apartment complexes- collectively called the shadow.. That was because that's exactly how they looked- inside and outside. On the outside they were covered by a black mold that seemed to suck the happiness out of your day..

On the inside? I've seen a picture of a guy who went inside.. Trust me when I say, you don't want to go in there..

As I neared the wall, I performed my routine checks before heading on over the wall.

I walked up to the bridge and peeked through the vines. 

Nobody there. I breathed a sigh of relief.. 

I entered the area under the bush and made myself comfortable. I looked at my watch. 3:15. I'd have a  while to wait before she arrived.. I knew I was awkward with starting conversations, so I started thinking about what to say to her when she came.. 

Of course I'd have to ask her about how she knew I'd come, why she gave me the cash, and more importantly.. I wanted to desperately know if we'd meet again..

I know this is a weird question to ask someone, but I didn't know if I'd even see her again.. Did we even qualify as friends? If not, could we be friends? Even if she wanted to be friends, we were on opposite sides.. She was rich, I was poor.. Even if she did.. Could we maintain it?

Another place, another time.

I stared back at the man in front of me.. His words were clear. His demands were outrageous.. His plans were insane.. It was the wrong thing to do.. It would amount to murder.. It went against every single one of my inner values..

But finally I gave in.. I had no choice anymore.. I had to comply..

 After everything we've been through, I couldn't let him kill her.. I had to do it..

How's it look guys? I was initially planning to introduce that last bit a few chapters later, but I figured you guys deserve it :)
