Hey guys! I'm super sorry but it looks like I might not be able to put up that extra chapter today :( my flight got preponed by several hours and I'm scrambling to get things done. If I cant put it up today, I'll make it up to you guys when I come back :)

------------ chapter 10 starts here------------

As I ran back, I was the happiest I'd felt in a whole time. The usual pain of the wall climb was just another old friend. The slow sunset looked more beautiful than ever and the birds seemed to be flying around in beautiful patterns.

As I jogged the way back, I saw the doughnut shop where I had my fifth birthday party (one of the few places to celebrate on the poor side) and little squirrels peeking out from one of the trees. It was beautiful! I knew that I was home free and I was loving every minute of it!

As I turned the corner, I caught a glimpse of my uncle and my mom- in front of the house- dejected. It was fairly obvious that they'd failed in their attempt to collect the money over the day- forcing them down to their one last option.

Then my mom saw me. She looked furious at me! As I approached, I actually started to get nervous- she looked on the verge of resorting to violence. I knew it was because I put my life on the line for Christopher again. I couldn't blame her for it.

I slowly approached her- bag in front of me to act as a shield from whatever storm was coming. Her look turned to one of curiosity and surprise as she saw me hold my bag in front of me. A glimmer of hopes showing  in her eyes, she asked me "did you?-"

She didn't bother finishing her sentence. As soon as I nodded, she burst into tears and hugged me.

It felt awkward having my breath squeezed out by the death grip of donkey kong, but it's not a very common gesture from her, so I savoured the moment nonetheless.

As Dave went to the hospital to pay Christopher's bills, I told my mom what happened. The real thing? No way! I disn't have a death wish!

For all you guys out there, never let any parent find out you had been spending time with a girl. Because if the girl's parent finds out, you get brutally murdered. If your parents find out? You get brutally murdered. Any other parent finds out? They tell both parents and you get brutally murdered anyways.

So obviously, I altered the story a bit- made it two raids, a last minute escape and just introduced isa as a person who let me go. Mom didn't have to know the full truth, but if I needed mom to ever trust isa, nothing was as good for her resume as "she saved my life"

After the story, I had a slow, long dinner. I'm a food person, and the fact that the last two days had such intense physical activity wasn't helping. The food wasn't anywhere as good as on the rich side, but it didn't matter- I was starving!

After dinner, I lay down on my bed to finally take that well deserved rest.. I finally let it soak in. I'd saved christopher!

Soon the adrenaline rush Id been having - practically all day- wore off, letting me slowly drift off into sleep.

----------------------------

The next morning I woke up around 10:00. Wow I'd slept a good 15 hours!

As I got up from my bed, I saw a note on the nightstand. It read- "going to check on christopher. Will be back at 10:00. Sorry I couldn't take you, but they're only allowing one person in."

I looked back at the clock- just to check that it was in fact 10:00.She'd be here soon. I decided to freshen up so I could hear about christopher as soon as she came back.

Just as I came back out of the bathroom, I heard a door close.  She was back!

As soon as she saw me- she offered to make breakfast, but I told her I'd make toast and eggs. After all she probably needed the rest..

As I started working on breakfast, she started telling me the details. The doctors only let one visitor in for christopher- her. This was in an attempt to reduce overcrowding of the hospital during these bad times. Her retinal scan was taken- so only she would be allowed to enter Christopher's room. Other than the doctors at least.

I felt kinda disappointed, I was really looking forward to seeing Christopher again.. And it would still be a while before he was discharged.

At this point I handed mom the eggs and toast. I watched intently as she grabbed the plate (wow! I didn't expect her to be that hungry!!) and jammed a piece of egg into her mouth. I then watched in awe- as it shot out- at least 10 times faster than it went in and stuck to the wall opposite her.

I was stunned.. I knew my cooking was bad.. But that bad?

She looked at me. "I'm sorry sweetie. I know you worked hard for this, but sometime, I'll teach you how to cook"

I laughed. Even though it was insulting to my ego, that response was still hilarious..

She then told me to go take a bath while she prepared breakfast.

I headed off to my room. I'm not telling you what happened after that- because what happens in the shower- stays in the shower.

--------------------

After breakfast, I had some time to spare, so I decided to call up my friend jake. It's been ages since we spoke.

Jake was very hyperactive as a child. As he grew up, it just got worse. He played literally every sport from tennis to soccer, water polo to horse riding. But that wasn't the surprising part.. The surprising part was that he had a history with video games rivalling that of his sports. And that's what drew me to him. This was a man who played almost every game- from "ocarina of time", to the newest "need for speed"

"Hey what's up?" I heard the familiar voice on the other end of the line.

I took a deep sigh, before starting the story.. I knew he was close to Christopher- almost as close as I was, and i wanted to break it to him slowly.

"Christopher's hurt" I replied

The response I got was a barrage of questions- ranging from "what happened?" To "is he all right"

As I explained the story (reassuring him multiple times that christopher would be fine) he seemed to calm down. I continued telling him the various incidents that followed and about how everything was fixed now. I finally ended with how I couldn't meet christopher and the fact that I was heartbroken over it.

"What if I told you there was a way to meet christopher?"

"I'd say you're lying" I replied. He couldn't be telling the truth.. Could he?

"I'm not. There is a way for you to meet him. I can't guarantee it'll be legal though"

Right then, I knew it was far from legal. Probably further from legal than the raids were. This was jake the crazy guy! The guy who jumped into the snake pit in the zoo for fifteen bucks..

Whatever this was, it'd be crazy, dangerous, and illegal..

"Let's do it" I replied.

-------------end of chapter 10--------------

How's it look guys? Super long chapter- just for you guys. I'll be away for the next few days so stay alive till I come back :) I'll make it up to y'all :)
