What Is Love?

A stranger walked up to me one day asking me a question "what is love my dear?"

I said love is your soulmate
But I wish I could tell him this:
"Love is the mother holding her baby to sleep.

Love is when you wake up and all you can think of is that person you never thought would be on your mind.

Love is when a mother takes care of her child when they're sick.
Love is when your best friend punches the kid that called you a bitch.

Love is when someone puts you before everything else to make sure you're okay.

Love is when they listen to what you have to say.

Love is accepting your differences and having faith in them anyways.

Love can be the unconditional care you have for someone.
Love doesn't even have to be a person.

Love can be an object that you hold dearly.

A necklace your mom gave to you,
A promise ring your boyfriend gave to you, to marry him someday,
A bracelet that shares your bond with a friend.

Love is never one thing, everything may vary. Every heart holds something different dear to them.

Love is the hope of your soul that you can survive another day.

Love is gone but you can always find it somehow.

You can find it on a plate, like food.
You can find it in school, like a friend.
You can find it on you, like an object of resemblance.

Love is everywhere if you just look closer.
