Trigger Warning

You sit at your desk
Knowing its time to go
Filled with regret
As you write your suicide note.
'Maybe its not too late'
'Maybe I can start over'
Thoughts filling your head
Of a life you could discover.
But sometimes that's not enough
Because you remember how your dad beat you
And how your mother watched and said nothing,
And you remember the times your sister's were the reason you have bruises,
And you remember friends that betrayed you
And secrets that were left unspoken
And when you write 'I'm sorry' tears start to spill
Because it hurts more and more,
The longer you live.
Your words like shards of glass poking at your skin,
Scared of what everyone will think
Because even after you die,
It still matters what people think.
As you dry your cheeks and think of the easiest way to leave
you pull out a gun you stole
And you put it between your lips,
The coldness of the metal feels so good,
'What a peaceful way to go'
You think as you pull the trigger....
Trigger warning
Trigger warning
Trigger warning
The sound of the gun echoing in the empty house
Blood splashing everywhere.
Trigger warning
Trigger warning
Trigger warning
As the neighbors rush to your house after calling 911,
Breaking the door and entering
As they walk to your room and step in your blood,
The crimson red that will forever haunt their dreams every night,
From the sight that unfolds in front of them.
Trigger warning
Trigger warning
Trigger warning
Warning for your parents as they hear the news,
Warning for your friends as they realize how much they've done you wrong,
Warning for the kids in class and all their hateful words,
Trigger for the sound of the gun in your mouth,
Trigger for the gun against your sister's head as she says hello to the angel awaiting for her.
Warning for yet another scene unfolding in other people's sight,
Warning for the apologizes waiting to be said
But never reach you in time.
Trigger warning that never stops them from reading a suicide note followed by another.
