Drowning In Sorrow- Poetry

Please Darling

Putting on a smile
Thinking they will care,
"I guess I was wrong, they never even blinked an eye."
You said as you cried to sleep.

You never knew anything can hurt this bad,
To the point where you cut to make yourself feel better.
You say one more cut,
But you know that's not how it goes.

1 cut turns to 2
2 cuts turn to 4
4 turn to 8
And 8 turn to 16
Never stopping to breath.

On and on and you say,
"Just one more"
Even though you don't...
Listen to what you have to say.

Darling, please stop
This is not how its supposed to go
Don't say goodbye,
This is just a new start.

I know its not my place to play God,
To tell you if you should live or not.
But listen to what I have to say.
I want you to stay.
I want you to stop hurting I want you to know
I care.

So please darling, look at me once
And you will know I would never lie to you.
