"My nephew is coming over for the night." Alex says, tapping on his phone as he walks into the living room where I'm sitting. I glance over at him and furrow my eyebrows.

"You have siblings?" I don't know that much about Alex, other than he's English and he really keeps to himself unless it's business. He looks up at me from his phone and nods his head.

"I have a younger brother, yes. He's only eighteen. He has a son." I nod my head. Clearly, he isn't that interested in talking about his brother. I wonder if he feels threatened by his younger brother and him already having a kid. Who knows.

"Blake is only four and a half for please be warned that he's very rowdy sometimes." I let a smile grow on my face. I don't think he wanted me to, but I do anyways. He let's out a exaggerated breath and looks back down at his phone.

"I'm sure that you two will get along great. Just don't ask him about his mum, please." Alex adds. I furrow my eyebrows and start to ask him what happened to her but someone knocks on the door.

Alex answers the door and greets a man that looks a lot like him and a little boy almost identical to his father. The black hair blue eyes trait is popular in his family. Alex and his brother exchange very few words and then his brother leaves. Why he left so abruptly, I don't know.

"This is Blake," Alex utters. I have a bigger feelings Alex doesn't like his brother now after his conversation with him. His eyes are a shade darker. The little boy grins and when he does I notice that he looks a lot like Alex when he smiles. I grin, and hold my hand out to shake his hand.

Blake doesn't even look at my hand, instead he puts a hand flat against my stomach and looks up into my eyes. "Did you accidentally swallow a water melon seed?" I crack a smile and roll my eyes. More like forced to.

"Yep." I let out a little giggle. Alex rolls his eyes and rubs my stomach gently. He kisses my forehead. "I'm going to go get some paper work done, yeah?" He says. I let out a breath and nod my head. I love kids. It doesn't bother me one bit that he's leaving me to take care of Blake. I rub the wetness from my forehead as he rounds the corner.

"Are you hungry?" I ask. Blake shakes his head no and continues to just looks at me. His eyebrows are furrowed.

"Are you sad?" He asks. I'm taken back by what he had just asked me. I simply blink. Maybe I just heard him wrong.

"I'm not sad." I tell him. The truth is, I'm as sad as sad can get. Probably a little more than that if that's even possible. I couldn't say that to a child as young as him though. That goes for any child. I refuse to let them see me at my lowest. I choose to be stronger for kids, so that they grow up to be stronger than I am.

"Yes you are." Blake says, he takes a seat on the couch and kicks his feet around.

"Do you want to watch spongebob?" I offer. Blake doesn't look at me but glances at the television.

"Do you like it here?" He wonders out loud. I furrow my eyebrows. Is this kid really the age Alex told me he is?

I choose not to answer his question. Instead, I flip through the channels on the tv until I come across a cartoon that should catch his interest. "I don't. Daddy is always mean to me." He utters.

My heart sinks hearing those words. "How is he mean to you?" I croak out the words. I hope that he isn't telling me what I think that he is.

"He hitted me last night."  Blake mumbles. His eyes connect with the tv. My heart rate is going faster than it was before. Does Alex know about this?

"Can you show me where he hit you?" I ask. I feel like I have to do something about it. He's only four years old! This shouldn't be happening!

Blake looks at me and let's out a breath. He stands to his feet and points to his lower back. Not his bottom, but his back. I get angry. I carefully lift his shirt and my eyes spy a large hand shaped welp. I understand that kids can get irritating but this is just ridiculous. My lips part, and I fall silent.

I don't say anything else about it. "Do you want some cake? There's some cake in the fridge?" I offer. Blake smiles widley, and takes a seat back on the couch. I smile back, "I'll be right back with some cake, okay? Stay right here."

The time passes by rather quickly. Blake and I sit in silence watching spongebob for awhile, we'd play around on commercial so that I'd keep him entertained. Eventually Alex comes into the living room and let's out a breath as he stretches.

"Come on Blake, let's get you to bed." Alex mumbles. I glance over and notice that Blake is forcing himself to stay awake. He gives out a whine in protest and looks back at the TV.

Alex sighs, picks the boy up in his arms and holds him close. "How about we out on paw patrol in your bedroom?" Alex offers Blake. Blake tiredly nods his head.

There are several rooms in the house but I haven't dared to look inside of them. I respect that fact that this is Alex's home -even though he doesn't respect my body- I tend to stay away from places he hasn't showed me.

They disappear up the stairs. The footsteps get quieter as they get to the second floor. I rest my head on my fist and look at the table. I've already cleaned up our mess from eating cake, and Blake kept making messes with the pillows that I've gotten around to cleaning up. The living room is nearly spotless other than some papers on the table.

I furrow my eyebrows and look at the handwriting scribbled on the paper.

Alexi, Peyton

I put the paper back where I found it and look at the time on the clock hanging on the wall. It's already ten at night. It doesn't bother me that the day went by fast. They all can until I go home. My heart weighs heavy as millions of words run through my head.

"You too, mama." Alex utters softly, picking me up and holding me against his chest. I let out a breath and hang onto his neck in fear that he will drop me. He wont, but if he did it would be a complete accident. I squeeze my eyes shut while he climbs the stairs. He carefully lays my body on the bed and cracks the door behind him.

"What'd you do all day?" I ask curiously. Alex purses his lips and tugs his shirt off his body. "I was working." He says. "I had a business meeting, then a pack meeting." He adds.

"So, you just decided that I'd watch your nephew today? You didn't even ask me, and might I mention he wanted to hang out with his uncle." I mumble. Alex pushes his hands through his hair.

"I thought that you wouldn't care. You always tell me that you like kids." He huffs. I roll my eyes. I like kids, yes.

"Did you know that his dad hit him?" I say. I don't say his name because I don't know if he's still awake. I can't let Blake hear this sensitive subject. Alex's hard eyes go soft. He knows I'm talking about more than just a spanking.

"He did?" His voice cracks. Am I about to see Alex at his weakest point? I nod my head slowly. Alex's eyes look from the door to me. He looks angry now.

"I'm going to kill my brother." He growls lowly. I blink and shake my head furiously. Ryan killed his brother, and as much as lucifer did, Ryan always regrets what he did.

"Don't." I mutter. Alex looks at me and simply blinks. He isn't taking my comment into consideration.

He let's out a sigh, and simply crawls into bed next to me. "Why shouldn't I?" He asks, facing me. Alex presses a hand against my stomach and I feel a warmness spread. The baby gets so happy at the contact. I let out a breath and put a hand over his. My eyes close briefly.

"You should do that because as much as you dislike him you'll miss him. Trust me when I say I know." I say. I could feel Ryan's regret and distaste for himself after he killed his brother, and Lucas' mate.

"Why does he look so much like you?" I ask, my eyes starting to close. Alex rubs my side and I'm nearly asleep. He sighs.

"I'll tell you tomorrow" he utters. Eventually, lying there is all it takes to sweep me into the darkness.

I apologize for the late update!! I've been very busy with my school work 😩! I really need to start studying my Spanish more and bring my grade up; I might not update as often as I usually do. Once again I apologize.
