"Chelsea isn't going to be here." Alex utters lowly. He sits in the plastic chair and rubs my hand between his two larger ones. He looks caught up in his thoughts.I furrow my eyebrows. "What?" Chelsea has never come to a doctor's visit. I wouldn't expect her to come to this one either.
"No, I mean she isn't going to be in Alexi's life at all, Taylor. She isn't going to be there for anything anymore." He's upset. I simply blink. To be honest, I didn't believe her when she said that she would be.
"What'd she do?" I ask, sitting up lightly in the bed. Alex shakes his head and gives me a soft smile. He's forcing it because he doesn't want to take his anger out on me.
"The question is, what didn't she do. She's been sleeping with one of her models, and ran off to Mexico for the week with him. You know what makes me sick? She wouldn't even touch me, and I'm her mate. Sick." He scoffs. I chew on my lip.
The room falls silent. I don't know what to say to him. He's angry, and usually it's best not to say anything when such a powerful wolf is mad. I cannot tell if he's heart broken over the fact that she had cheated on him, but I can tell that he's pissed.
"Alright," the doctor walks in with a huge grin on her face. Alex's head snaps to her and he gives her a wide smile.
"I've got some good news," she grins. I pipe up at what she has to say. Alex gives my hand a squeeze and makes eye contact with me. "You two will most likely be able to meet the little guy in two weeks!" I grin. Two weeks. "If he doesn't come then, though. I'd like to induce you if he stays in there a day longer than nine months. Are you alright with that?" She asks.
I nod my head. She doesn't like them staying in longer than nine months. I remember her stressing that the day that I first came to this doctors office.
"Yeah, that's fine." I say. My voice is soft. I try to think happy thoughts. I want to leave, but I really do not want to leave Alex alone with Alexi. Can I trust him with such a small baby?
"Alright, ready to see your baby again?" She grins. I smile, and nod my head. I absolutely love the ultrasound. It's very interesting. I just hate the cool gel.
I glance over at Alex and he looks completely happy. Like he wasn't upset about Chelsea at all when it comes to Alexi.
I'm silent the entire car ride home. I cannot believe it. I'm so close to getting home, and back to Ryan. This close to seeing my family again. I'm beyond excited to see them. Yet, I don't think I'm ready to just up and leave. I've gotten used to how things are here.
I doubt myself. Will Ryan even remember me? Of course he will. Will he have found someone else? I'm afraid. What if I do go home, and find him with someone else. Would all of my sleepless nights, and tears for him go to waste?
I think it's because I feel guilty for what I've done to Ryan. I keep telling myself that he found someone else, so he won't have to put up with me anymore. It was always jus us until Alex. I'd never been with anyone else, nor did I even want to be. I still only want Ryan.
Alex pulls into a Chinese resturant. I let out a slow breath, and Alex silently turns to me and helps me escape my seat belt. "Thank you." I utter, opening my door and climbing out of the car. Alex has been as quiet as I have. I don't want to push him to see what's wrong. I know there's something bothering him. I can't decide if it's the baby or Chelsea, but I know it's something important. He tugs the entrance door open and holds it open for me to walk through.
I brush past him and his hands press against my lower back. "Tell me what you want mama, I'll let you go sit and get off your feet." He breaths close to my ear. I glance at him and tell him what I want.
I find a seat close by a window. The restaurant plays recent hip hop music, and people's conversations fill my ears.
I rest my chin in my hands and watch the cars drive past. I'll never get used to people driving on the left side of the road here. I watch a car drive by. I sigh. I shift in my seat. The booths aren't made for pregnant women. I have to sit awkwardly to fit.
"You eat the grossest foods around, mama." Alex chuckles. I shoot my head towards him and watch him slide a tray of food my way. Sesame chicken isn't gross?
"You're just really picky." I roll my eyes. Alex rolls his eyes back at me and takes a seat across from me.
"You're absolutely right about that." He laughs. I can't help but smile. He has a loud laugh, and people stare.
"Alexi'll probably end up like you." I smile. I cannot help but being up the baby. He's almost here. I don't know why I'm getting so excited. It's not like I'll ever get to have him as my own.
"Probably," he grins, "but maybe he'll get the dare devil trait from you." Always trying something new. I smile. I won't be around long enough to know.
"Are you going to be able to take care of Alexi on your own?" I wonder out loud. Alex is always busy with his work. I always wonder if hell have time for Alexi in his life.
Alex takes a sip of his drink and shakes his head. "I'll be just fine, mama. If I need any extra help Jewel is always around. Please don't stress. I can assure you that Alexi will be raised in good hands." I'm relieve to hear that. I do to want Alexi growing up thinking that he doesn't have anyone.
"I trust you." I give him a smile. "It's a mom thing, don't take it personal when I ask about how you're going to raise him." I laugh. Alex smirks.
"It's okay, mama." He shakes his head and takes a bite of his food. "God, I cannot wait to meet him." Alex can only grin. I smile back. I wish I could be as excited as he is to meet the baby. He doesn't have to leave him behind like I do.
This chapter isn't great. My apologies.
