"This has to be the best thing I've seen all week." Jewel grins, holding the ultrasound picture in her hands. I smile. Everyone is so happy that there's a baby on the way. I'm not looking forward to it. I have to just leave him here. I trust Alex with him, but it's still my child and how could I just leave him like that? That pangs my mind every time someone says that they can't wait to meet the little guy. There's also the fact that actually having a baby when it's time- hurts.

"Goodness! Little Alex is growing up." Jewel jokes, looking at Alex. He's towering over the two of us and his arms are crossed. There's nothing little about this guy. If Alexi takes any traits from Alex, that's the reason why my stomach is bigger than my last pregnancy. Alex rolls his eyes at Jewel.

"I'm a year younger than you, Jewel" Alex says. He doesn't joke around with her very much. I elbow Alex in his ribs and he let's out a low growl. "You're the little one." He grins, ruffling up Jewel's hair. They share a laugh and I smirk. She raises an eyebrow and looks at me.

I've gotten to like her more since she let me call Ryan. She let's me on occasion, but not as often as I want to speak to him.

"You're just plain out tiny, mama." Alex laughs. He pokes my forehead with his index finger and only laughs more. I roll my eyes. I only get teased about it all the time.

"Have you ever thought that you're just abnormally big!" I say, I pout my bottom lip out. Alex let's his mouth form a smile, and he ruffles my hair.

"I know." He winks. My eyes go wide. I look towards Jewel and she's snickering in laughter.

"B-I- but I didn't mean it like that!!" I say. My cheeks are heating up and I'm completely embarassed. I should have worded that differently. I groan and cross my arms over my chest to force myself to stay serious.

Alex laughs and sloppily throws his arms around me and hugs me. "I know." He chuckles into my hair. I huff and pull away from him.

"That was totally uncalled for.." I say, I take a seat in the nearest chair because my feet are killing me. Problem number ten thousand of being pregnant.

"Okay, sorry mama. Do you need anything?" He asks, giving me a once over. I shake my head. I don't need anything.

"I mean, if you're feeling up to it we could go get some ice cream later?" I ask. Alex grins.

"I thought you were going to say that." I don't ask for it every day, but I ask for it a lot. If I could I would survive on icecream.

"As soon as you're done with dinner, Jewel, you're welcome to eat with us then take the rest of the week off, okay?" Alex says. He stands to his feet and announces that he's going to finish up some paper work and will be down in a little while.

"Wow." Jewel utters lowly. I catch her words and look at her curiously. He chops an onion to go into the soup that she's making.

"What?" I ask.

"It's just, I've been working for Alex for at least four years now and never once have I seen him this happy. Nor even laugh this much." Jewel explains. A smile is on her face as she works on the food.

Wow. That is something to hear. Alex never really laughed? He wasn't happy? I furrow my eyebrows in thought.

"I'll miss this, when you leave." Jewel says. I blink quietly.

"Miss what?" I wonder out loud. I've still got a few more months to go, and I can't wait until the day comes that I get home to Ryan. He slips into my mind so often, and it's hard to fight the depression. I don't fight it when I'm alone, though.

Alex sort of distracts me. He's got a good way of distracting anyone. Mindless conversation about little things. One conversation we had was about hats. Who talks about hats for an hour? Alex.

"This. Alex is just going to go back to his normal serious self again when you leave, I'm sure of it. Plus, I'll miss our little arguments. You put up a pretty good fight." She grins. I roll my eyes and swat my hand at the air.

"Arguing is my specialty." I grin. Jewel let's out a laugh and shakes her head. "At least you agree with me on that." She says. I can only smile wider.

Jewel focuses back on the soup she's preparing. She stirs the liquid with a wooden spoon and turns back to me. "Dinners ready." She smiles. I smile back. She cooks really good. At first I couldn't tell because they had shoved a tube down my throat.

She pours some hot liquid into a bowl for me, and carefully pushes it my direction. It smells delicious. "Thank you so much." I grin. Jewel waves me off.

"Just eat up," she smiles, "my pleasure" she adds. Jewel is almost always so sincere. Maybe she knows I can get an attitude back, but maybe she just likes me. I sort of have gotten used to her. I don't mind having her around. It's not like she's here all the time anyways.

I yawn, and stand to my feet. "I'll be right back." I have to pee, and plus Alex is caught up in working so I have to go get him. Jewel is only half wolf, so she cannot connect to the mind link when she wants to.

Alex's office is on the first floor, so after I get out of the bathroom that's where I head. I've only been in here a handful of times.

I call his name as I step into the office. He turns to me from the computer screen and rubs his eyes tiredly. "Yea, mama?"

I look at the screen, then back to Alex. "Is that her?" I ask. Alex turns towards the screen and let's out a breath.

"Yeah." He rubs his forehead. "Do you need something?" He asks. Clearly I've disrupted what ever he was doing.

"Come and eat." I say, I rest my hands against my stomach and let out a sigh. Alex stretches in his dark leather chair and nods his head.

"Okay, mama. But come here for a minute." He opens his arms and continues to sit in the chair. I roll my eyes and hesitate to go to him. But I do.

Alex pulls me into his lap and let's out a breath. He rests his head against the back of my neck and takes in a deep breath. "What did you girls say about me?" He chuckles, placing a hand on my stomach. I roll my eyes.

"Why do you think we were talking about you?" I ask. Alex's hand rests on my thigh and he chuckles lightly. "I heard Jewel say my name halfway to this room." He tells me.

My mouth forms an o. Of course he did. He's still a werewolf unlike myself. I know that I am, and that my wolf is keeping me strong enough to carry such a powerful baby, but she has yet to give me a sign that she's still there. I almost caught her when I was on the phone with Ryan last, but other than that, nothing.

"Can you let me go?" I ask, trying to get out of his grip. Alex shakes his head against it and kisses my neck. I inhale, and crane my neck to the side to give him better access. I didn't mean to do it on purpose, my hormones are acting up and Alex really knows what he's doing.

"I wished you were mine." He whispers under his breath. It's so low that I almost don't catch what he had said. I heard him though.
