Key literary term here: irony
Ryan's pov:I arrive in England. The airport is busy due to the fact that a holiday is coming up. Lucas had found someone that lived here that had some valuable information about Taylor's where abouts. I'm exceptionally thankful that Lucas has gotten this information out of someone that I would have just killed looking at. I'm no good with my anger.
I walk towards the airport exit. I want to continue my search, but it's late, and I've got to get some sleep. "Wait." I out my hand out to stop Lucas. A smell has hit me. It's too familiar. I can't quite put my finger on it. I haven't witnessed it in so long. I furrow my eyebrows.
I left North in the hands of my father. The two of them have a connection that I cannot explain. My dad has loved her since he first saw her in the hospital. They're inseparable now, almost. I threatened to kill him if he let something happen to hurt while I was gone.
"What's wrong?" Lucas wonders, shooting his eyes around the airport. I follow suit in his actions. I don't know. It might be because I haven't been anywhere but on a plane for the past hours.
"Nothing, never mind." I sigh. Lucas pushes the door open and were exposed to the fresh air. I take in a deep breath and let it out slowly. Being on that plane for so long only raised my stress level. By this rate, my hair will start falling out before I turn twenty five.
I push my fingers through my hair. I've never really been outside of the United States, so this entire place was new to me. How ever, my delta, Marcus was an expert with directions.
"Let's just get to the hotel, yeah? I've been up for hours and I think I'm starting to hallucinate." I grunt. Lucas and Marcus both agree that feast before this meeting would be the best idea. My wolf is restless. He keeps trying to talk me into getting to Taylor as quick as I can. I cannot risk being weak and having her life taken because I cannot protect her.
She's alive. I know that because I can still feel the little mate connection that is left. The bond is nearly gone, only holding on by a few strings. Yet, both my wolf and I refuse to give up. I know that she's out there, and I know I'll have her home soon. I just have to keep trying.
The taxi ride isn't quiet. Lucas and Marcus are talking, and making little jokes about nothing in particular. I simply lean against the filthy door and let out a sigh. I can't understand why they are so happy. Especially at a time like this.
"What do you call a smart blonde?" Marcus asks Lucas. I clench my jaw. I do not want to hear another laugh from them.
"I don't know, what?" Lucas cracks a smile. I narrow my eyes and look at the two of them.
"Will you guys shut the fuck up!" I growl. They both stop mid-sentence. The car goes completely silent and I let out a soft breath. "Thank you." I'm tired. All I want to do is go to sleep. I want Taylor next to me when I do fall asleep, but, I'll have her in only a few hours. We stop in front of the hotel, I grab my luggage and am quick to get inside. I'm a bottle of nerves, and I just need to lock myself in a room for awhile.
"Sorry, the hotel is booked for the next week." The lady at the front desk says. She isn't too gentle about it, either. I narrow my eyes at her, and grab the edge of the desk.
"I need a room." I snap. I'm not playing games. She looks at me and let's out an annoyed sigh. She is werewolf, so the fact that in tearing the desk apart isn't scaring her.
"The hotel is booked, sir. Easter is coming up and people are going to see their families. Sorry." She says. Her voice is mono tone. I can feel my anger boiling.
"I don't think you understand who you're talking to. I'm on a tight leash as it is, and I'm not afraid to snap someone's neck to get what I want," I pause and look at her name tag, "Ivey, you've got to the count of three to get me a room or I'll go into each of your rooms and tear this hotel apart. Got it?" I lean forward and let out a furious growl.
"The hotel is booked." She snaps back. "One," I growl. Lucas and Marcus are standing behind me, ready to hold me back. I wouldn't even have to find the alpha, he'd come straight to me.
"Two." I snap. Her fingers instantly start typing. I ease up on here a little bit. I'll give her a few moments to search the computer. She glances up at me and sighs.
"I have one open suite. I can give you a discount, but you're going to have to pay for the damage to the desk, too." She says. I let out a breath and nod my head.
"That's fine." I mumble, paying with my card and getting the key. Not even here an hour and people are being difficult. As soon as we get up to the room I take a bigger room and lock the door behind me.
I lay on the bed, trying to figure out what to say to Taylor. Of course, eventually I'm going to have to tell her that I did sleep with someone when she was gone. Most of all, I'm going to tell her how much I missed her, and never let her go.
My eyes grow heavy. A cloud of nothing covers my eyes, and eventually I'm lost in nothing but darkness.
