~Sadies POV~
As I open my front door, the realization hits me, that not to long ago, my father was arrested and Lars reunited with his parents. All in one day.
As I step inside and close the door behind me, my mother yells,
"Is that you, Sadie?"
"Yeah ma! Where are you?" I start to hear her stomping and then the basement door opens wide, and she pops her head out.
"Come here." I walk to the door and she opens it fully, and extends her arm out, "Go on ahead." I look at her confused, but I go anyway, and the steps creak softly with each step.
"TA-DA!" She exclaims as I make it to the bottom, and I smile softly.
As me and Daren rolls about on the floor, trying to get a good punch, I'm able to pin him down for a second,
"You're dead to me! You were never there and you came back, still the piece of trash, and a father who never cared!" He shoves me off him with such force, I get a bit of reality, that I'm actually fighting my father. Quickly, my legs run down the hall and to the stairs.
"Come back here!" He yells, but I don't listen as I sprint up the stairs and to my room and I burst through the door, but he makes it in with me. Our tussle continues there-
My room was almost destroyed during me and Daren's battle, and I was planning to fix it up myself, but my mom got to it instead. She reset up my bed down in the small basement room and put all what was left of my clothes in the tiny closet, and she plugged in the old TV too. And I also spot the endless pile of stuff animals my mom gave me over the years.
"Mom...you didn't-"
"No, I had to Sadie..." She engulfs me in a bear hug, and I give into it, hugging her back. As she lets me go, she rubs her old knee and rubs the top of my head,
"Get some sleep kiddo, you have work tomorrow." I nod in agreement, and she stomps up the stairs, and closes the door shut. As I listen to her big footsteps going back up the stairs, I let out a sigh and get into bed, too tired to change.
As I start to drift off, my mind starts to think of Lars.
The Next Day...
I quickly munch on an apple and I fix up my 'Big Doughnut' shirt and I stare at the clock, and also glancing out the kitchen window, waiting for the sun to come up.
I hope today is going to be perfect...
Nothing will make me have to stand up and speak out
It will be just...fine...
As the clock buzzes softly, I turn it off and throw my apple core in the trash, and wash my face. I haven't been to work in awhile, so it's good to get back to my schedule. As I walk to the front door, I put on my coat and open the door slowly, and step out; shutting it tight. I start to walk to work and my mind drifts off.
I wonder how Ronaldo is doing, and also Jenny...
Did I restock the doughnuts last time I was at work?
I wonder how Lars's parents are settling in.
After a few minutes of walking, I start to see the 'Big Doughnut' up ahead, and I smile softly. Softly, I say to myself,
"Home, sweet doughnut, home." But as I get closer, I see two familiar figures standing outside the door, waiting ever so patiently.
"Huh...?" I continue walking to them.
