~LarsPOV~ 

 "I'm gonna kill him..." I mumble as I shoot up from my seat, accidentally slamming my healing hand on the counter in anger. I growl and grip it. Sadie stands up. 

 "Lars, calm do-" 

 "I'm gonna kill him..."I say again, feeling myself getting angrier. 

 "I'm gonna kill this son of a-" 

 "Lars!" Sadie says, interrupting me. I look at her, and she rolls her sleeves back down, and I sigh softly. 

"Sorry..." 

 "It's fine; but Lars, it's fine ok. Seriously. I'm doing fine." She hangs her head slightly, and picks up her coat and goes to hang it up. 

 Then it hits me. 

 "What we talked about yesterday...it was directed to you and your dad...wasn't it?" As she hangs it up, she sighs and rubs her forehead. 

 "Yeah...but I'm handling it, ok? Don't worry about me." I sit back down in my chair. 

 "But it's not Sadie." She turns to me. 

 "It is fine, ok?! He didn't mean it....he was being uh, too rough and playful." 

Before I could object, the'ding' goes off from the door and Sadie and I look at the next costumers, and I feel my anger rise higher. 

 "Hi honey!" Sadie's mom says, as she walks in, along with Sadie's dad. My teeth start to grind in pure hatred and I grip the counter, trying not to flip out. Daren looks at me, and a vein in his neck starts to throb. 

 "Hi mom" Sadie says as she quickly starts to go back behind the counter with me, and she holds my free hand underneath the counter. The two of them walk closer to us, and Sadies mom is all up on Daren, her arms wrapped around his and her hands holds his. 

 "I'd like one chocolate doughnut please." Sadie grabs one and I look Daren straight in the eyes, and he does too, and you can clearly feel the tension in the room. 

 "Uh..." Sadie's mom says, and Daren suddenly straightens up. 

 "Come on Barbra, let's go." Sadie's mom nods and grabs her doughnut, and gives Sadie her lunch bag, and they start to go, but Daren stops, and says before they leave. 

 "See you tonight Sadie." And they both leave. 

 ~SadiesPOV~ 

 I let go of Lars hand, and he looks at me with fury. 

 "What the heck Sadie!" I look at him, 

 "What?" 

 "You haven't told your mom yet about this?" I shake my head. 

 "I said I can handle this Lars! Get off my back!" He groans angrily, 

 "First my birthday, now this." I raise an eyebrow. 

 "Wait, your birthday?" He blinks surprised. 

 "Yeah uh...it was yesterday." I gasp. 

 "Why didn't you tell me!?" Quickly, I grab his hand and I grab a slip of paper and start to write. 

 "What are you doing?" Lars asks, clearly confused. 

 "We; are going out." As I finish writing, I turn the lights off and head out the door, not before putting the sticky note on the inside of the door. Before we read, Lars reads it aloud.

 "Closed early for personal reasons." Lars looks at me with a small smile. 

 "Larsadie reasons?" He asks, and I giggle softly, tugging him along with me, 

 "Come on, let's celebrate." As we walk around, I giggle again. 

 "I can't believe you forgot your birthday." Lars rolls his eyes, 

 "Well sorry, I was busy yesterday." I smile softly, feeling a blush start to appear on my face. As we start to head near 'Fish Stew Pizza', I walk in a quickly order a pizza. After a few minutes, I walk back outside and see Lars waiting for me. 

 "Follow me" I say, and I start to jog to the board walk, and Lars follows close behind. 

  I hope what I'm doing is gonna make up for yesterday. 

 I can't believe I forgot his birthday. 

As I see the board walk up ahead, my bruise starts to hurt again. 

  Ouch. 

I bite my bottom lip hard, 

  how hard did he punch me? 

As I sit down on a bench, Lars sits close beside me. Opening the pizza, Lars takes a slice, and so do I. 

"Happy birthday to me..." Lars says softly, but not at all happy.
