"A glass for you" said Connie handing paige the wine glass ready for her to fill up.
"Connie just give me the whole flipping bottle"
The two females burst out laughing as co nie poured the wine.
"So how did you and Jacob meet? I didn't think he was gonna be your sort of type other wise I would have introduced him to you years ago!" Said paige with a grin.
"What do mean my type?" Said Connie hitting her best friends arm slightly "I have a type now"
"Oh come on, Connie Masters Queen of cardiothrasics and now the Emergency Department always had a type, but you know Jacobs cocky... And can be to cocky"
"On many different levels!" Said Connie with a smirk.
"Oi that's my brother your on about!!" Said paige laughing.
The two best friends had been sat there for a while before grace walked in and over to the fridge
"You alright darling" asked Connie taking a sip of wine.
"Yeah its like getting blood out of a stone though" said grace with a chuckle.
"What do you mean?" Asked paige.
"Jacob, I mean I have to explain every single no angels scene"
"I know your pain Gracie" laughed paige.
"Anyway what you looking for?" Asked Connie as grace had her head in the freezer.
"Ice cream"
"Oh OK you found some? There should be Ben and Jerry's in there I brought phish food the other day"
"FOUND IT" grace shouted raising up the ice cream like it wass the most precious thing in the world. She then grabbed 2 spoons and headed back to Jacob leaving the freezer open.
Connie got up shaking her head at her daughter then remembered what else she brought. She bent down and pick up the other Ben and Jerry's and held it up to paige so she could see.
"Fancy some cookie dough" she smirked.
"Oh you know me! Always and forever!!" Paige laughed.
"And its always been the same with pasta!" Connie shut the freezer with her foot then grabbed a couple of spoons out of the draw and returned back to her seat at the the island with paige.
The two girls had been sat there for another hour just catching up on the gears they hadn't been together.
"So there's gotta be a special man in your life come on tell me!" Said Connie giving her a nudge with her elbow.
"Well there was kinda..."
"Oh my god who" said Connie with a mouth full of ice cream in her mouth.
"I was engaged"
Connie nearly choked "what do me " was" "
"I caught him sleeping with another girl in out bed!!!"
"What a bastard.... I tell you what you go get him and I will start digging the hole in my back garden!"
They both then started giggling.
"But honestly... He is the one that stuffed up... And quite honestly I am so glad he did!!! Because I am bloody loving the single life! It's brilliant, cos I can do what the bloody hell I want!!" Smiled paige proudly!
"Good on you! Right its getting late we better start getting ready for bed! I'm gonna take the day off tomorrow so me you grace and Jacob can do something"
"Can you do that? Just take a day off"
"Paige mate its my department! It's fine I will just get micheal to cover my shift and me and Jane Grayson would love him to dok a double shift for a change"
"Wait micgheal as in your ex or micheal Spence?? And since when was Grayson back in the picture I thought she pops her clogs ages ago!"
"When I said micheal I ment Spence althoiught technically they are both my ex's!" Connie laughed.
"Very true!"
"And Grayson's only been back in the picture for a week as Hanssen resigned... And God hasn't life been easier with out him!"
"I bet! Right any lets tidy up then we can head to bed so we can at least sober up a little"
They both tidyed upo the kitchen bepfre going into grace and Jacob.
"Right me and Mrs are going to bed and I suggest you to do as well as I have suggested we all do some ethinbg tomorrow!" Said connie
"See this is why I love you! You always have the most brilliant ideas" said Jacob getting up and kissing Connie.
Paige said good night to everyone then Connie amnd Jacob said goodnight to Grace.
Connie and Jacob quickly tidyed up the rest of the house then went up to bed themselves
