Connie had been home for 4 days now and with grace arriving back home from zoes in the next hour she was planning to go out for the day with grace Jacob Zoe max and of course charlie.
There was a knock at the door at about 10 o clock and Connie ran to greet her daughter. She had missed her the time she was in hospital but Zoe and grace came up to see her everyday.
"Hello beautiful! Did you have a good time at auntie zoes?"
"Yeah mum it was brilliant....I got to watch max make pancakes and he put one of the ceiling again and Zoe wasn't impressed and I watch CSI new York and no angels so she let me catch up on all my favourite shows and..."
"Ok grace calm down" said Connie laughing. "Why don't you go and tell Jacob all about it his in the living room catching up on no angels"
"What?! Had he never seen them"
"Nope"
Grace ran into the living room while Connie went outside to help Zoe with bags and max as they were all meeting at Connie's house for their day out.
"Hey Connie how are feeling" said max giving her a hug
"I'm fine thanks I think it's more shock then anything" said Connie with a smile Zoe and max went into Connie's house with graces stuff.
About half an hour later the door bell rang. They were all sat laughing at the TV as no angels was on, Connie jumped upo to go answer it but max said
" don't worry I will go get it. It's probably Charlie ain't it?!"
"Aw cheers max" said Connie as she sat back down.
A couple of minutes max reappeared "err Connie there's a police officer who wants to talk to you he's stood outside" Connie looked and Jacob and Jacob back at Connie.
"I'll erm be back in a minute" she said and headed to the front door.
"Hello Mrs beauchump?"
"Yes that's me" she said with a slight smile. It was a female officer. They both heard laughter coming from the living room. "Sorry I have friends round.. What can I do for you?"
"I hate being the one that gives the terrible news... Cal one of your colleagues at the hospital has escaped from prison... He was last seen in Edinburgh in Scotland but that was 2 days ago... We have know Idea where he is now... We thought we had better let you know so you your friends and family can keep your eyes peeled and just make sure your all safe" said the police officer and then she gave a speechless Connie a piece of card. "Look if there is anything I can do for you don't hesitate to call me OK?"
Connie nodded and manged with great difficulty a "thank you" the police officer smiled the turn round and head for her car. Connie shut the door and just stared at it.
A few minutes after hearing the door close Zoe went out to see if Connie was OK. She found her just looking at the door not moving.
"Connie are you ok?" Said Zoe touching her shoulder. Connie flinched away and Zoe knew something was up.
Connie looked at Zoe and said.
"I need to show you something come up the stairs with me" the two females headed up the stairs with Zoe very confused.
Connie opened her bedroom round and went in with Zoe following and the both sat on the bed.
"There's one thing about me Zoe that I haven't told anyone but Jacob. You know a few months back I was with cal we what I didn't realise straight away was that he was controlsive" she said tears starting to form in her eyes. "And when I did realsie and try to refuse he would whip me" Connie stood up and pulled up her T-shirt so Zoe could see the permant marks he had made. Tears started to form in zoes eyes knowing that her best friend had been domestically abused" and the worst part is he would whip me in front of grace. When he tried to murder me the other night the police officer told me he had been arrested. And the amount off relif was unbelievable. That was the same police officer at the door. Cal has escaped from prison Zoe and she came to warn me. I do t know what to do" she said back down on the bed. Both off them crying now. They cradeled each other until Zoe went down the stairs to get Jacob.
"Jacob Connie wants you shes upstairs... It's not good"
Jacob went running up the stairs.
"Babe have you been crying?" Said max jumping upo to cuddle Zoe.
"Mum told you didn't she?" Said grace quietly.
Zoe nodded and went over to Grace, crouched down and gave her a hug then grace started to cry. Max was so confused but to his delight the door bell rang. So he went and answered it.
Charlie walked into the living room with max behind him!
"Uncle charlie!!" Said grace while sniffing.
"Hey Gracie what's all the tears for?" Said Charlie picking her up then wiping her eyes. He looked over at Zoe then knew exactly what had happened.
"It's about cal isn't it?" He said "is she upstairs?" Zoe nodded.Charlie and grace went out of the room to go and see Connie while Zoe explained to max about everything.
Charlie knocked on the door. "Connie?"
"Come on in charlie" said Jacob. Charlie found Connie crying into Jacobs chest and his arms round her shoulders.
Connie looked up at Charlie
"You can't bottle it up! We are here to help you! Inhabve said it before and I will say it again you and Zoe are like my own I will protect you both and grace and Jacob and max"
"I know" said Connie. The tears had finally stopped falling and ashe was trying to stay strong for her daughter.
She looked from Charlie to Grace. Grace looked her straight in the eye for only a moment then ran over to Connie and gave her a hug and didn't let go.
"He's gone and will never hurt us again! You have nothing to worry about OK?" Connie kissed graves heads then rocked her back and forth in her arms
Once the tears we most definitely gone they all went down the stairs to try and get on with the day.
They had all decided to go ice skating and although the girls had been lots of times the boys kept falling on their arses which cracked uip the girls big time. They all were smiling and laughing away with not a care in the world...just how life should be!!!
Again this chapter was longer then I intended!! I will be writing up some happy chapters with a bit of comodey hopefully!! Hope you are all enjoying the fanfic so far xxx
