It was a gray, overcast day. Things were fine at the Tower and everyone was enjoying some breakfast. You were walking around the main room, making sure everyone had watermelon slices and purified water. Everyone was sitting near the small fire in the middle of the room.

"Hey (y/n), have some watermelon with us." Adam said, standing to offer you his seat on a crate. He was your second in command, your best gunman.

"I'm fine Adam, thank you." You smiled, and kept pacing around. You didn't know why, but you had an odd feeling about what today would bring. You took another sip from your bottle of water, and began chatting with Barney about mutant goats and how to bring apples back. Small conversations arose among everyone, until a bell sounded from the floor below. Everyone stopped talking and looked at you. You rose off your crate to your feet, and glanced at Adam.

That bell signaled that someone was at the door outside. Adam grabbed a gun and you grabbed your (Weapon of Choice). You two walked down the stairs and went up to the large sheet of metal that was used as the door.

"Who's there??" You asked, though positive raiders would not be waiting so patiently. There were some noises like groaning and shuffling, then a reply.

"Please, open up. My wife needs medical help." A male voice spoke urgently. You looked to Adam and motioned for him to help push the door open. Soon, the door was open and you took a look at the couple standing out there. The handsome man with ginger hair was supporting a blonde woman. They each had cuts across their arms and weren't wearing much armor, just casual outfits. The woman's right leg was bloody and almost definitely broken. She was shaking and sobbing, trying hard not to look at her own leg for fear of fainting.

Adam helped the woman limp into the medical office, where you helped everyone with any sort of medical issues. You closed the door and walked into the medical room.

"What happened here?" You asked as they laid her down on a cot.

"We heard over the radio there were settlements this way, into the city. So we ventured out as far as we could but we ran into some super mutants. We tried running but my wife got her leg caught. We just barely made it out of there." He explained. You turned to Adam and smiled.

"You may go back to the others now." You told him. The man watched on slightly confused as Adam obeyed you. You turned back to the woman on the cot and began grabbing your cleaning materials. Once you got everything you began working on her leg.

"My name is Max. This is my wife, Tiffany." The man said. You glanced up and found yourself not wanting to look away from his deep eyes. Nodding once, you turned back to the leg and continued stitching up the gash.

"I'm (y/n), but everyone calls me General. I lead everyone here." You explained.

"How many live in this 4 story tower, general?" He asked. Your chest stung a bit and a fluttery feeling exploded inside your stomach when you heard him call you general. It was a weird feeling you didn't recognize but you brushed it off.

"Six of us, plus myself of course. You'll get to meet them later." You replied. "The man earlier was Adam. He's my best gunman, and he has a wife and son living here." You said. Normally you would be apprehensive about telling him so much about your group, but his wife would have died if you had not helped her. So it seemed to be a safe situation. Maybe they will stay....did you want them to stay? Did you want Max to stay?

You finished wrapping gauze around the woman's leg and washed your hands. It was a rough job, but you had confidence in the stitches. You stood up and grabbed a stimpack to finish the job, stabbing it just above her knee into her thigh. By now, Tiffany had calmed herself and was staring at Max. Max was stroking her hair and staring into her eyes sweetly. Something about that scene made you feel angry and slightly jealous. So you decided to disturb the couple.

"*Ahem* Max, would you like to follow me and meet the others? Your wife should rest for a while." You said. He nodded and left a kiss on Tiffany's head. He followed you upstairs where everyone was sitting still and conversing. You cleared your throat and everyone turned their attention to you. "Everyone, this is Max. His wife Tiffany is in the medical office, healing her leg. Please make Max feel welcome." You said.

Max awkwardly shuffled around and shook hands with Barney, Adam, Alesa, Ross, Corey, and said hi to baby Mason. You walked over to your desk and began shuffling papers around. In the midst of your organization, you heard Adam talking to Max.

                                                   "Welcome to the Tower..."
