The people of Tempine's Bluff were so happy to hear that you and your group finished the job. It was pretty dark when you got to their community so they offered to let you stay the night. You and Alesa roomed with a girl named Sherri. She was so excited to have a "Girls night" as she called it. You three sat on your beds in the cabin she lived in, and she was talking about guys and romance. You zoned out, playing with the hem of your pants when your name was called.

"Hey, I asked if you have a man in your life?" Sherri repeated. You cleared your throat and looked to the ceiling.

"Not really." You muttered.

"You and Max seem pretty close." Alesa teased. You gasped and raised a hand to your blushing face.

"Ooh the redhead? He's cute." Sherri chided, giggling. ((They're both cute though right??)) The conversation was cut short when a knock sounded on the door. Sherri went to open it and let Adam into the room.

"Hey girls, the guys and I were going to the diner for some drinks. Wanna come?" He asked. Sherri bounced up and down in excitement.

"Give us 10 minutes!" She squealed, ushering Adam out. Sherri turned around and pulled out 3 dresses from her dresser. She had this red dress that caught your eye. ((Pictured up above)) She noticed you eyeing it and told you to put it on. You were hesitant, because dresses weren't really your thing.

Let's be honest, you were a military general. You definitely preferred pants. But for tonight, you would wear the dress. It fit you perfectly, hugging your body at the waist where the gold belt sat. You walked out to show the girls and they jumped up excitedly and squealed about how great you looked. Alesa chose the blue dress and Sherri had a green one. You three grabbed some matching shoes and (hesitantly) you let Alesa (lightly) do your makeup. Soon, you three were ready to go to the diner. It was probably about 11pm when you got there and ordered the drinks. Sipping on Nuka-Cola you three began chatting about random things when the guys walked in. Red, Ross, Barney, Adam and Max all wore nice dress shirts and ties.

They walked over and sat at a table with you. You smiled at everyone, deciding you should relax for tonight. You can enjoy yourself for once instead of fighting. A jukebox in the corner played some old, upbeat tune as you all exchanged stories. Laughing, smiling, and shedding some tears. After a moment a slow song came on the jukebox, and Adam grabbed Alesa's hand. Ross asked Sherri if she wanted to dance and bashfully she agreed. You made eye contact with Max and he looked away awkwardly.

Of course he wasn't going to ask you to dance...he was probably still upset about his wife's death. It was probably the dress too. Maybe he didn't like it..

"Hey...may I...have this dance?" Max asked. He was standing in front of you, his hand outstretched. He had a glint of hope in his eyes.

((Play song now for best results!!))

You stood up, placing your hand in his.

"Why yes. Yes you may." You smiled. He grinned so big you thought his cheeks would crack, and it sure was contagious. You looked down and walked with him over to the dance floor. He wrapped his arms around your waist and you wrapped your arms around his neck. He rested his head on your shoulder and you did the same as you swayed together.

Something about the way, you look tonight...

"You look beautiful." He whispered. Your cheeks flushed and you smiled. It felt wonderful being held in his arms like this. You never wanted to leave.

"Thanks. You look nice.." You replied. He chuckled and you felt the vibrations in your chest.

The rest of the dance was silent, just a peaceful silence you didn't want to break. The both of you were caught up in the moment, swaying together in sync. It was perfect.

However, the perfect moment had to end as did the song. You both pulled away hesitantly and you missed the warmth his body provided. He took your hands and led you back to the table. You both sat next to each other and he let go of your hands. You talked for a while about the trip back to the tower and everything. The rest of the people came back to sit at the table after dancing through a second song. You all talked a little more, drank a little more, then walked back to the cabins you were staying the night in.

Max walked you back to the cabin, holding your hand the whole way. It was such a sweet gesture. You both arrived at the cabin all too soon, and you almost tripped on the way there. Thankfully Max had caught you in his strong arms. You weren't drunk, or tipsy even. You just weren't used to walking in those damn heels.

Once at the door, Max took your hand in his and stared into your eyes while he placed a gentle kiss on your knuckles. Your face probably turned into a tomato at his action.

"I had a wonderful night (y/n). I hope we can do this again." He smiled.

You took a deep breath, trying very hard to trust your voice.

"Me too Max. I had...fun...for once. There wasn't even any blood spilled." You joked. He laughed at the morbid joke. He leaned in slowly....to give you a hug, half expecting you to reject him. But you welcomed the embrace. ((Ha, you thought you'd get a kiss?? Silly reader-chan.))

"Goodnight." He bid you.

"Goodnight." You sighed, watching him leave. Little did you know, two girls were leaning against the door, listening to your whole conversation.

You opened the door to go in, and Alesa and Sherri were staring at you with wide eyes.

"What?" You asked, confused as to why they were staring at you like that.

"Oh...uhh.." Sherri stuttered.

"You like him, a lot. Don't you?" Alesa grinned. Soon, Sherri also had the same childlike grin on her face. Your cheeks flushed, if they weren't already dark.

"Guys, what does it matter." You sighed, shaking your head.

"You let him call you by your name..." Alesa pointed out. She was right. You let him be informal with you. Great, now she'll tell Adam. Adam just loved to tease you about anything he could.

"Goodnight guys." You said. You evaded the question and changed into something comfortable. You quickly got under the sheets and turned your back to them.

"Alright, no more questions. Goodnight!" Alesa chuckled. Sherri and Alesa moved around the room for a few minutes before finding their beds and turning off the light.

In the morning at about 9am, you and your roommates woke up and went to breakfast at the diner. The guys were already there, eating some scrambled eggs and other foods from the buffet.

"Hey! The town wanted to give us a thank you breakfast!" Adam cheered, shoving more eggs into his mouth. Everyone was happily eating all the food they could.

"That's really nice of them." You smiled. After a great big breakfast, you all gathered up the supplies. The town thanked you once more and sent you on your way. You all made the journey back to Diamond City, and retrieved Mason. Jasmine didn't make you pay anything and said she enjoyed his company. Finally, it was back home to the tower. Boy, you couldn't wait to get back to your own bed..
