(( Happy Saturday! Hope you all are having a good day/ weekend! I'm thinking that chapter 32 will be the final one. Mainly because I like that number, unless I finish the plot sooner. Anyway, enjoy!))

You woke up both nervous and excited for the day ahead. You wanted to meet with the settlement that your dad stayed with. He said for a few years after leaving the vualt, he just wandered. Eventually he found a group of people willing to take him in and feed him.

He ensured you they were very pleasant people. Which calmed your nerves somewhat. Within only two hours, the three of you were packed and ready to go.

"How long will you be gone?" Adam asked.

"Only a few days. Take care of baby (d/n)." You replied.

"Of course." He smiled. You hugged everyone, and soon you three were off.

Walking and walking for what seemed like hours. You decided to take a quick break next to a building. As you talked and drank some water, the sky grew dark. But it wasn't night time yet. You glanced at Max and his expression grew worried. Soon, a loud crack of thunder sounded and the sky opened up, pouring rain down.

"To the diner!" Your dad shouted, pointing at a diner across the street. You all ran across the street under the shelter of the diner. Finally out of the radiation storm, you guys sat down at a booth (that didn't have a creepy skeleton in it, haha).

"We should wait for it to pass." Max suggested. In the meantime, Max found a checkerboard and you three played checkers for the next 30 mins or so. Then luckily the storm died down. With just a gentle rain coming down outside, you three decided to continue the journey to the settlement.

After walking another few miles, you reached a bridge. It was in pretty bad shape with a lot of holes and cracks. As you started across, Max held tightly to your hand in fear you would fall. You made it about halfway across the bridge when you came to a large crack, separating the two sides of bridge. (It's about 2 or 3 feet across) Your father was the first to jump the gap, landing fine on the other side.

Max decides to jump so he could be there to grab your hand after you jumped. You took a couple steps back, and got a little running start then jumped. When your foot came down, it wasn't on flat concrete. The wet rock was slippery, and your footing slipped. Your hands shot out, trying to grab anything you could. Instead of falling any further, a hand grabbed yours. You looked up to see Max holding on desperately to your hand.

"Hang on, we'll get you up." He coaxed. Just as he said that, the rain began pouring down harder. This made it harder for Max to pull you up. Each time he lifted his hand, yours slipped out of his grip.

The last thing you saw before plunging into the waters below, was your fathers' and Max's terrified faces. The water was cold, but not freezing. However it certainly wasn't purified.

You saw a rush of bubbles as someone else entered the water. A dark figure swam closer and darkness shrouded your vision.
