You turned to watch them for a couple minutes until they noticed your eyes. You walked over to Max once introductions were over.
"Max, did you want to stay here with us at the Tower?" You asked.
"I think I would be honored, general." He smiled.
"Good. I think you will make a fine soldier." You smiled back, and began to walk away.
"I'm sorry, soldier?" He asked, trying to clarify. You turned back to face him, folding your hands behind your back formerly.
"Yes, everyone who lives here can fight well. It's a needed skill these days. If you choose to live here, you will train with Adam and I." You explained.
"Oh that's fine I guess.." He replied uncertainly.
"Also, I'm sorry but if you do stay here, you cannot have a child unless given consent." You added. His eyebrows furrowed and his eyes clearly showed confusion. Without letting him ask, you answered his unspoken question.
"This world is no world for children. Alesa was already pregnant when I found them." You replied. His face softened somewhat. It seemed like he understood.
Later you went to check on Tiffany. She was feeling much better so you helped her stand and gave her an old pair of crutches to use. She was grateful and you knew the stairs would be a challenge for her, so with Adam's help you set up a room for them on the first floor. After the cots were set up, you explained that if they heard any noises they should lock the door and not go anywhere.
For the rest of the day, the rest of the team met Tiffany. You heard a bit of the conversation Tiffany and Alesa were having, "It will be nice having another girl here. The general is nice, but she's stern." She said. You ignored the comment and started a talking with Ross.
"What do you think of Max and Tiffany?" He asked.
"They are nice people, not so sure they will make good soldiers however." You admitted.
"Yeah, maybe you're right." He nodded. "We will need to venture out again to find supplies."
You sighed, "I suppose you're right, tomorrow we will gather weapons and head out. You, me, and Adam will go West." He agreed and went to check over his pistols. Soon, everyone was eating then went to bed for the night. You fell asleep quickly, exhausted from the day's activities.
Your cheeks touched, one hand intertwined with his.
His arm was wrapped around your back in such a caring, protective manner.
Everything seemed perfect. His beautiful eyes were looking into your (e/c) eyes.
Time slowed, you broke eye contact for a moment to look at the gorgeous sunset.
Sitting atop the tower gave a perfect view. You each had a beer sitting next to you, both forgotten a while ago.
"(Y/n)...." He whispered, turning your head to look into your eyes again. "I love you.." He muttered, pulling you in for a kiss. Once you parted, you smiled.
"I love you too....Max."
"GENERAL!!"
A loud voice screeched, ripping you from your dream. You sat upright and your head whipped side to side, trying to observe any dangers. You looked over to see a smug Adam had woke you up."Sunrise?" You asked. Adam nodded with a little smirk, moving away from your cot to let you get up. In minutes you three were at the door, packed and ready for the trip ahead. Everyone was there, wishing you guys luck on the journey. Adam kissed Alesa and little mason. That made you think about the dream you had last night. It was strange. Were you really attracted to Max? He had a wife though...
You shook it from your thoughts, and began walking off with Adam and Ross in tow.
Until next time.....
