"Well if it's what you want." Adam shrugged.

"It's what's best." Max nodded.

"I have the perfect vase you can use." Alesa offered. She went to grab it and handed it to Max. He smiled and thanked her. So the decision was made, you would cremate Tiffany's body after saying some words. The rest of the day you grabbed chairs and some other important materials and Max, Adam, and Ross helped you set up everything on the roof of a next door building.

You guys made many trips and when everything was set up, you went back to the tower and Barney was helping Alesa make the big dinner in Tiffany's honor.

"Hey, dinner's almost ready guys!" Alesa announced. You walked over to baby Mason and Max sat down with you. You both played with Mason until dinner was ready. You all sat at some tables put together and ate in silence.

Max seemed to act more friendly around you after the incident and conversation. Of course, he expected you to banish him but you let him stay, after he threatened to shoot you. But you both agreed that interaction would be kept secret. The others would most certainly trust Max much less.

Once dinner was over, you all cleaned up and you grabbed a bag with lots of tissue boxes. There was sure to be tears tonight. You gathered everyone together by the door and took a head count, then led everyone down the street to the 2 story building. Max carried Tiffany the whole way. She was dressed in a nice sequin dress and Alesa put a little makeup on her pale face.

Once on the roof, everyone sat around the pit. Max placed Tiffany in the pit and kissed her knuckles before joining the rest of you sitting down. You stood in front of everyone, and cleared your throat.

"Thank you everyone for being here. We are here to honor Tiffany's life on this Earth. She was taken away from us too early by an evil so great." You said. A few nodded in agreement. "An evil we can only hope will be extinguished in the future." You sighed. "Max, would you like to speak now?" He agreed. You sat down and he took your spot.

"She was a really great person. Always offered a shoulder to cry on if you needed it, she could always tell if someone was upset or anxious. She was a great listener. I admired her so much for being the best she could be everyday." Max sniffed and wiped at his eyes.

"She will stay in my heart forever." He mumbled, then he bowed his head and sat next to you.

"Let's all have a moment of silence." You added. You sat and stared ahead at Tiffany laying on the wood structure you built earlier that day. You remembered the first day you met Max and Tiffany. You remembered stitching up the wound in her leg and helping her walk again. Then you remembered teaching her about the creatures and people of the commonwealth and beyond.

The institution, you told them about briefly but you didn't think it would be a big deal. Unfortunately, now you knew quite a bit about them and their evil operations. However, you had no idea where their HQ was located. Not like you'd want to go back anyway.

About 4 mins passed and Adam cleared his throat. You stood and grabbed the bag of flares and passed one out to everyone, lastly giving one to Max.

"Would you like to go first, Max?" You asked. He stared at the flare and you grabbed some matches.

"Yeah, I'm ready." He said, holding out his flare for you to light. You lit it, then lit the other flares. You all stood around the pit waiting for Max to make a move. Max took a deep breath, stepped forward, and tossed the flare at the base of the wood pile.

By now it was dark out and somewhat chilly. As the rest of the group threw the flares into the pile, the flames crept up towards her body. Finally, you threw your flare into the pit also. You all sat in front of the fire, not talking about much. Finally, the flames died down and nothing but ashes and charred branches were left in the pit. You safely extinguished the last flickers of flames, and Max collected some ashes into his vase.

After everyone was done paying their respects, you all went back to the tower. Sitting down for a while, you decided to open a bottle of wine. Some people went to bed, deciding not to partake. Adam, you, Max, and Barney stayed up and grabbed a glass of wine.

"To Tiffany." You smiled, raising your glass towards the center of the circle you all formed.

"To Tiffany." The guys repeated, clinking glasses and toasting to her. ((My family and I do this after going to a funeral, except with soda and not wine.)) Silently you all took sips from your glasses and made small conversation about Tiffany or other things. That night, you drifted off to sleep peacefully for the first night in a while.
