10. Yummy Scoops

Right now, I was making lunch. I was making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I was craving so many things, I couldn't pick one, so why not all? Its that time of the month, girls, you know how I feel, and when Aunt Flow comes, there is non-stop cravings.

I finished putting the jelly on and put the pieces of bread together to form the sandwich. Then I ate the sandwich in less than a minute.

Man, I'm craving ice cream nowwww......ughhhh!

I'm gonna ask  Zoe and see if she wants to go get some.I sent her a text..

Heyyy wanna go get ice cream at Yummy Scoops?

She texted back right away.

Hell yeah!! I have some gooood news too!!"

Okay, meet you there in 10

Kk. She replied.

I put on something cute, black ripped jeans, a peach tank top an a black cardigan. I didn't put on any makeup and just let my hair down. I got in my car and headed to Yummy Scoops.

I saw Zoe sitting at one of the tables by the window. She saw me and waved her hand saying, "Hurry!"

I went through the door and went over to her. She already got her ice cream. How dare she!! "You butthole! I'm going to get my ice cream be right back."

"Okay!"

I got in line and when it was my turn to order, I told her, "Two scoops of mint chocolate chip in a cone please." She smiled and took my money and put it in the cash register.

I went back to Zoe and sat down across from her.

"Zoe, what's the exciting news?"

"Well..."

I yelled, "Spit it out!"

"Jayden and I are going on a date!!"

Omg yessss! "Oh my gosh! Really? When?"

She smiled probably thinking about it, "Tonight. We are going to the carnival." Awwww. I love carnivals! I wish I could tag along.

"Lucky."

She said, "How are things between you and Zane?" What? How would she know that there's something between us? Is there something between us?

"What are you talking about?"

"Honey, it's pretty obvious that you guys like each other. Ever since you broke up with Tommy 3 weeks ago you have been hanging out with him so much!" My face heated up.

"See you are even blushing."

"Zoe, calm down. We kissed a couple days ago but it was nothing and he said it was a mistake. So we are just friends."

Zoe sighed, "He will come around, he acts so different around you than anybody else, anybody can tell. Did it feel like a mistake to you?" Of course not.

"I mean, it was kind of the best kiss I have ever had. But no, it didn't feel like a mistake to me. He doesn't feel the same and sure, I'm sad but things happen like this all the time. You just have to move on," I told her.

"Fight for him. He wouldn't kiss you if he didn't have the tiniest bit of feelings."

"I doubt it Zoe, can we talk about something else?"

She sighed, "Yeah. Have you seen Derek's new shoes?"

We talked more about different stuff for another hour or so.

I was now home, in my bed, watching Family Guy. Man I love that show. It one of the only ones that makes me laugh. I'm kind of sad right now. I feel like I should be outside or like doing something productive.

Ding Dong...

I ran downstairs and opened the door, "Oh, hey Zane."

He smiled, "Hey Cupcake."

"What are you doing here? I don't help you with math on the weekends."

"I know, I just thought you might have missed me," he smirked, "oh and I have to talk to you about the kiss-"

I cut him off, "I know Zane, it was a mistake, we don't need to talk about it."

"No, that's what I came to tell you, I don't think it was a mistake. I mean we are friends and stuff but it just happened. Like I don't want anything weird between us because we kissed. We are young and stuff, lets just not worry about it. What I'm saying really, is, lets not forget it but move forward in our friendship."

Oh. I guess its better than saying he doesn't have feeling or stuff like that to me. "Okay I'm glad there's nothing weird between us."

"Yeah, so are you busy tonight?"

"Nope," I said popping the 'p',"why?"

"Wanna go to the carnival? As friends of course. I know you love carnivals so I thought it would be fun."

I smiled, "Yes I would love to go to the carnival!! Jayden is taking Zoe to the carnival and I thought I wouldn't be able to go because if I went with them, I would be the third wheel and it wouldn't really be much of a date for them. I got all sad because I wasn't gonna go so thank you for inviting me!"

He said, "No problem, I have to go but I will get you at 7."

"Okay sounds good."

This is weird. It feels like a date but it isn't. I wish it was though. Do I like him? Of course Shay! Don't deny it! We have been hanging out for 3 weeks. It isn't too soon is it?

-----Zane's POV-----

I changed my mind about the date thing. I mean I was going to ask her to the carnival as a date but last night, I thought that we should just grow our friendship first. I don't want her knowing that I think I have feelings for her.

As I walked in the parking lot towards the grocery store, I heard someone's voice.

"Yeah she was so stupid, I mean of course I cheated on her. She wouldn't give me anything so I got it from someone else."

I looked around the corner, I saw Tommy with his friends. I bet you he is talking about Shailene. He's such a jerk.

I kept listening, "She isn't even a virgin, she wanted to wait until we were dating longer. What kind of bullcrap is that? Shay is a useless piece of shit."

Oh hell no, he did not just say that. Before I could decide, I walked towards him.

"What the hell is your problem? Shay didn't do anything to you, and if anything, your the useless piece of shit that cheated on her with a bimbo that almost every guy in the school has been in. Katelyn has an STD you know. I heard her talking about it on the phone with her mom the other day in the hallway. So you better get checked unless you want your dick to fall off."

"Yeah Shay did do shit, she wouldn't have sex even though we were dating. Katelyn doesn't have an STD either. I wish we weren't cousins because I would so punch you right now."

I teased him, "So what is stopping you?"

And with that, he said, "Good point," and he threw a punch. Obviously I caught it. I twisted his arm and said, "Don't talk about Shay like that again." I spit out.

I let go of his arm and walked into the store. That piece of horse shit thinks he can say those things about Shailene when she didn't do anything wrong? What the hell is wrong with him.

Man, I'm so mad. I don't know why I'm reacting like this. I've never acted that protective of any other girl. I must have some sort of feelings for her. Ughhh...
