chapter 15

"Lightningpaw come and sit with us" Snowfeather said. Lightningpaw walked towards them. They were sitting on some warm rocks. Lightningpaw layed down next to Snowfeather in the shade.

"Flamekit seems to like you" Sunsky grinned

"hey! At least I'm not thinking about being mates with a kit!" purred Lightningpaw. Snowfeather growled playfully.

"I just thought he is cute. You think Flamekit is cute" Snowfeather shot back.

"yes I do but I think all of ALL of them are cute" Lightningpaw said calmly. Snowfeather just looked at her paws.

"so Sunsky do you know when Treepaw will be a warrior?" Lightningpaw asked.

"well so I think. I saw him while I was hunting. He is now full grown so by next gathering he will a warrior." Sunsky said. Lightningpaw wondered how long it will be until she was a warrior.

"so when will I be a warrior?" asked Lightningpaw. Sunsky let a long sigh.

"well i really dont know. Once i have taught you everything i know really." Lightningpaw looked around. why cant Hawkfrost just teach me every thing?! Lightningpaw got up and streched all four limbs. She heard her belly growl with hunger. She trotted over to the fresh kill pile and, picked out a plumb mouse and ate it all in swift bites. She then sat up and drew her paw over her muzzle. Lightningpaw unseathed her claw.

"WOW!" Lightningpaw looked up to see Riverkit bound over to her ,"your claws are so long! I have never seen claws so long!" Lightningpaw looked at her long, curved, shiny black, claws.

"Wow they are long. I never really took much notice with my long fur." Lightningpaw smiled down at her. Riverkit unseathed her claws and started to attack a leaf.

"I cant wait until im a apprentice like you. You must really bring fear to your foes!" She stated. Lightningpaw remebered the battle with Streamclan. When she kept digging her claws into Nightpaws pelt. She felt like she could not stop bringing her pain.

"OW!" Lightningpaw saw that she was digging her claws into Riverkits pelt.

"Sorry" Lightningpaw mumbled.

"SHADESTAR!" A cat shouted from the dawn patrol. Shadestar ran out of his den.

"Shadedstar! The- The river has split!" Thistlehawk panted Shadowmoon close behind. Have thay got bees in their brain?! The river cant split!

"Mama! The river has split!" Riverkit ran into the nursery.

"Dont tell lies" Troutpool said. LIghtningpaw turned her attention back to Shadestar.

"What do you mean?" Shadestar said while thrashing his tail. His green gaze burned into Thistlehawk. He flinched.

"The river goes on the outside of the border lines of Darkclan territory and Meadowclan. Only Streamclan is untouched." Shadowmoon spat at Steamclans name. Shadestar jumped down from the high log.

"Show me" He growled. Lightningpaw looked at Sunsky who dipped her head.Lightningpaws eyes turned into slits. She stalked out of the camp. Her claws unseathed. She walked next to Shadestar.

"I will claw Streamclan ear to tail" Lightningpaw hissed.

"This is no battle....... sadly" Shadestar growled. Lightningpaw wanted to claw those toad eating fox hearts. The whole way there she kept her claws unseathed and her eyes slits. She could feel the earth break away at her claws. She turned to sunsky who was the same. Lightningpaw looked ahead again. Gasps filled the Darkclan croward. Lightninpaw bunched up her muscels and leaped in front of the darkclan cats. the river has split! Lightningpaw gritted her teeth. Her claws dug deeper into the sand. She let out a yowl. The other cats did the same. Lightningpaw looked into Streamclan teritoy. She saw a bush move. Lightningpaw tasted the air.Nightpaw!

Nightpaws POV

Nightpaw ran though the stream. She heard a Darkclan patrol. She hid in a elder bush. Nightpaw could not wait to see the look on their faces. Nightpaw pricked her ears. Then she saw a group of Darkclan cats. oh look its the great Shadestar of Darkclan! Nightpaw sneered. Gasps filled the patrol of cats. Then at the back of the group a cat bucnched up its muscels and jumped to the front of the cats. Lightningpaw. wow she can jump! The young she cat let out a yowl of anger. Her long claws dug deep into the sand. Nightpaw felt icy claw rake down her spine. She looked at the side of the pelt. A long deep scar was there what lightningpaw left. Nightpaw closed her eyes hard. She opened her eyes and drew them away from her pelt and back to lightningpaw.She narrowed her grey eyes into slits. Nightpaws paw got caught on a long twisted branch. Mouse dung! Panic struck Nightpaw. Her eyes wide, her heart beating fast. She looked over at Lightningpaw. mouse dung she heard me! Lightningpaws head shot up in her direction. Nightpaws heart started to beat faster. Lightningpaws eye where slits her claws going deeper into the sand......

Lightningpaws POV

Lightninpaw dug her claws deeper into the golden sand. What are you waiting for? Go and get her! A voice hissed in her ear. She looked over shoulder at the ground. Her eyes still narrowed. She pelted towards Nightpaw. Nightpaw let out a screech of terror. Nightpaw burst out of the bush and ran along the stream. Lightningpaw hard on her heels.

"Lightningpaw came back!" A voice called after her. Lightningpaw did not notice. Nightpaw looked over her shoulder and her eyes widened at how close Lightningpaw was. She let out a small screech. Lightningpaws were still narrowed and in slits. Lightningpaw got closer with every heart beat. She could see Nightpaw getting slower.just like chasing prey. Lightningpaw grinned. She looked up to see a low branch. Lightningpaw leaped up into the tree. She silently and swiftly chased her though the trees. Nightpaw looked back. Her eyes full of terror what brang Lightningpaw glee. Nightpaw was panting hard. Lightningpaw sat in the tree. The sun was slowly setting. Nightpaw heard a twig snap. She started to run again. Lightningpaw looked back to see a mouse nibling on a seed. oh this is going to be fun! Lightningpaw jumped down from the tree. Mist filled the forest. Lightningpaw ran after her. Nightpaw looked back to see glowing blue eyes charging after her. Nightpaw ran faster. Lightningpaw jumped up into the trees once more. Nightpaw looked back and let out a wail of confusion and terror. But she still ran. Soon they were out of Streamclans teritory and was soon in a foggy, misty, dark forest. Owls screeched. Nightpaw stopped. Lightningpaw could sence her heart beating out of her chest. Nightpaw kept facing every direction. Her fur bristling. She looked up to see lightningpaws glowing blue eyes. She slowly unseathed her long back curved claws. Lightningpaw then jumped to another tree. She was sly like a shadow. Nightpaw jumped of her fur when she heard an owl screech. She dropped down her rear end was up and her front half was falt on the ground. Lightningpaw clawed the tree. Nightpaw looked over to where lightningpaw was. She then jumped to another tree. now i will kill her. Lightningpaw jumped down from the tree and sat down faceing the ground. And slowly slid her claws out. LIghtningpaw slowly looked up and grinned showing pearl,long sharp, white, fangs. Lightningpaw leaped at Nightpaw. She pinned her down like a piece of prey. Slowly letting her claws dig into her pelt. She looked down and smiled at the apprentice yowl in pain. Suddenly something crashed into her. She rolled onto her back and dug her claws into the earth to stop her self rolling.

"Are you-" Lightninpaw ran and dug her claws into the other cats pelt. She bit him on his shoulder. Nightpaw stood stiil in shock. Lightningpaw pinned the cat down. Greydawn! She did the same to him as she did Nightpaw.She slowly silde her claws out into his back and smiled down at him.

"Run! RUN!" he shouted to Nightpaw. He yowled out in pain. Nightpaw looked at Greydawn then to Lightningpaw. She started to run.

"Stay away from me and my family" Lightningpaw hissed in his ear. She removed her claws from his back and walked back to Darkclan. She looked over shoulder to see Greydawn lay still. Well done.... the voice echoed around her.

Lightningpaw walked into the Darkclan camp. Cats were whispering.

"Lightninpaw!" The cats stopped whispering and stood there in scilence. Lightninpaw grinned to her self and went to her den. The felxed her claws and drifted off into a deep sleep with no dreams and a sly grin on her face.
