Chapter 34

"Lightningfrost wake up!" A voice hissed. She opened her eyes to see Snowfeather standing over her.

"I'm up" lightningfrost groaned.

"Shadestar has called a meeting!" Snowfeather said rushing out of the den. Lightningfrost quickly gave herself a groom and walked out of the den. All of the cats were gathered beneath the high log. She sat next to Smokestorm and Snowfeather.

"Good you finally awake" Smokestorm whispered. She shot him a threatening glance. Shadestar sat patiently for his clan the settle. The murmurs slowly died down.

"As you all know the gathering is tonight," cats began to talk "I shall announce now what cats are going Redfoot, Troutpool, Smokestorm, Flamespark, Riverlight, Lightningfrost and Sunsky" Shadestar announced. Snowfeather looked sad that she wouldn't be going with Smokestorm. I wonder if he has feelings for her? Thought lightningfrost. Smokestorm got up and bounded towards his litter mates. Lightningfrost decided to go for walk. She got up and walked over to the tunnel. She saw Sunsky talking to Greydawn. Both warriors seemed to have gotten closer with each passing day. Lightningfrost let out a sigh.

She walked through the forest, it was peaceful, the birds were singing and the trees were gently swaying. She came to a tall, thick tree. She bunched her muscles and began to climb the slowly rotting wood of the tree. She laid down a thick branch. It all seemed peaceful in the forest but images of Rabbitjump kept flashing in her mind. She didn't regret killing him. He knew what she was capable of and he had never liked her. She sighed and watched a bird feed her chicks. In the distance she could see a StreamClan hunting patrol. She notices Adderfang, Lakepool and Frogleap.

"Psssstttt" a voice whispered. Lightningfrost looked down the see Nighthawk.

"What are you doing here?!" She whispered back.

"I came to talk to you about something." Nighthawk replied.

"But won't the patrol notice you are missing?" Lightningfrost said looking back to the Streamclan patrol.

"No, they think I am in the nursery" Nighthawk said. Lightningfrost beckoned her up the tree with a flick of her tail. The Streamclan warrior slowly climbed the tree. Streamclan cats might be able to swim but they can't climb trees, Lightningfrost thought to her self. Soon Nighthawk was laying down in front of her.

"Your expecting kits?" Lightningfrost said tilting her head.

"No, Sandyshore is" she replied.

"What is it you wanted to tell me?" Lightningfrost said changed the subject. Nighthawk looked hesitant.

"You know the crack between the territory, what the river now runs though? I made that" she mumbled. Lightningfrost froze

"Peace will come with night" Lightningfrost said under her breath.

"What did u say?" Nighthawk said moving closer.

"A lightning bolt will be born and bring fire. The lightning bolt will strike and bring death. Lightning and fire will battle.Peace will come with night. But be warned the lightning bolt holds the power of Starclan and the clans in its paws. If this fate is for filled then the clans hold in the balance" lightningfrost said louder.

"Night will bring peace, I brought peace to the territorys" Nighthawk happily exclaimed. But Lightningfrost was still troubled, she had to battle with fire.

"Nighthawk, do you understand any other parts of the prophecy?"

"No sorry, all I know is that you and fire have to battle" she said. Lightningfrost noticed a streamclan patrol, they seemed worried.

"You clan is wondering were you are"

"Mouse dung!" She said.

"Help me get down from this tree" Nighthawk said standing up and digging her claws into the bark. Lightningfrost pushed her. Nighthawk fell into a pile of leaves. Lightningfrost grinned down at her. The StreamClan warrior looked up and grinned and ran into some bushes. Once the patrol had gone Nighthawk ran into her territory. Lightningfrost stood up and stretched her legs and decided to go back to camp

"Its time we set off to the gathering!" Shadestar announced. Lightningfrost finished her rabbit with Flamespark and walked over to Shadestar.

"Honeystar is up to something" Lightningfrost growled. Shadestar narrowed his eyes.

"I don't trust her, she need to know that we are the most feared clan in the forest. Meadowclan are worried about them, they should be worried about us" shadestar grinned.

"But we helped Meadowclan" Flamespark said walking up to them. Both shadestar and Lightningfrost narrowed their eyes at him.

"Its only so we could hunt on their territory and get to know are way around their territory" shadestar informed. Flamespark grinned. Who knew the young tom had a dark side? Lightningfrost thought. Once all the cat were there, Shadestar flicked his tail for them to follow.

Soom they came the the cave that led into the large clearing. Judging by the noise Streamclan and Meadowclan were already there. The Darkclan cats stalked into the clearing. They kept to the shadows. Lightningfrost looked around and sat next to Nighthawk who was talking to Treewish.

"I love the way you make an entrance " nighthawk grinned. Treewish burried his muzzle in Lightningfrosts fur, she did the same back.

"I have not seen you in a long time" he said. Lightningfrost nodded her head. Shadestar raised her tail. Lightningfrost could hear Beesting talking to Silverwing. Lightningfrost turned around and gave them and icy glare. They flinched. She turned back to give her full attention Shadestar.

"Flowerstar, you can start" he said. Flowerstar stepped forward. Lightningfrost noticed a hint of silver on Flowerstars muzzle. She was getting old.

"I would sadly like to announce that Rabbitjump was found dead this sunrise, we think he was killed by a fox" she rasped. Gasps filled the clearing. Lightningfrost narrowed her eyes.

"However prey is running well and we have three new warriors Beesting, Silverwing and Firesoul" Flowerstar finished as she stepped back

"Rabbitjump should be with us!" Silver wing shouted.

"Silverwing! Rabbitjump! Beesting! Firesoul!" That cats chanted. Honeystar then stepped forward.

"Prey is running well in StreamClan. I'm proud to say that Sandyshore is expecting her second litter of kits" she smiled.

"Sandyshore! Sandyshore!" The streamclan cats chanted. Shadestar then stepped forward.

"We also have three new warriors Riverlight, Smokestorm and Flamespark," no cat dared to interrupt shadestar, "prey is also running well". Shadestar finished.

"Smokestorm! Riverlight! Flamespark!" Every cat chanted.

"The gathering is over!" Honeystar said. Cats began to talk

"Wait!" Every cat turned their head to Firesoul.

"Is there something wrong?" Honeystar said

"I know who killed Rabbitjump!" Cats gasped

"It was Lightningfrost" every cat turned to look at her. She just sat there calmly. Firesoul growled at pounced on her. He landed on top of her. She raked her claws down the side of his face. He yowled in pain, she then dug her claws into his neck until her got off her.

"Someone break them up!" A worried voice said

"No! The moon is still bright" Redfoot said. Lightningfrost pinned Firesoul to the ground and whispered in his ear.

"Run away and never come back, if you do I will kill you and if you tell anyone I will hunt you down" she said in a silky voice. His eyes were wide. She grinned at him.
