Chapter 18

"Shall we jump on her?" a whisper echoed around the den

"Dont be so moused brained! She is one of the strongest cats in the clan!" A little voice hissed

"Darkclan cats really do have bee's in their brains!" a voice mumbled

"She took on three cats single pawed!" A little voice mewed. Lightningpaw smiled to her self.

"so are we going to wake her up or, just wait until she claws our fur off for being in her den?"

"Its not her den, and she will claw our pelts off we wake her up!" A voice hissed.

"What do you know? Your just weak old Meadowclan cat!" Then there was a small yowl, lightningpaw slowly put her head up to see all seven kits in a fight. Lightningpaw got up and moved into the shadow in the den. Lightning[aw grinned and let her long, black, curved claws slide out. She narrowed her eyes into slits.

"They are right" She said. The kits stopped, They stared at her wide eyed,"i did take on a streamclan cat"

"Wow" Beekit said. His eyes wide. Silverkit rolled her sea-blue eyes.

"Can you tell us the story now?" Smokekit asked

"Once I have had something to eat and, I have spoken to Sunsky" Lightningpaw said while licking the tip of her tail. Riverkit and Silverkit looked at each other and ran out of the apperentice den. Rabbitkit looked at Lightningpaw and narrowed his eyes. Lightningpaw caught his gaze. He turned away. Lightningpaw looked at for a bit longer before turning to Beekit and Flamekit fighting. Then Silverkit came the den with a mouse in her jaws.

"There" She panted, "now all you have to do is talk to Sunsky" the small kit looked pleased that she dragged the mouse here all on her own.

"Thnkyou Silverkit. Come on lets go out side" Lightningpaw said while picking up the mouse. With a flick of her long furred, black tail the kits followed. The bright sun light blinded her. She walked over to a willow tree on the edge of camp. She sat under it. The kits ran over to her and sat in front of her, watching every move she made. She ate the mouse in quick bites. She heard paw steps run towards her. She looked to see Riverkit with Sunsky.

"Here she is" Riverkit panted.

"Sunsky is it okay if I tell the kits about the battle with Streamclan?" Sunsky had a grin on her face

"If only you dont tell them about the deadly moves we used" She and grin on her face.

"Dont worry. I wont" Lightningpaw said. At that moment Snowfeather came and sat next to Lightningpaw.

"Your telling battle storys wow your turning into an elder!" Snowfeather teased. Lightningpaw. Then Shadestar walked towards them.

"Lightningpaw can you come with me please" Shadestar said.

"Aw but Lightningpaw was going to tell us about the battle with Streamclan!" Flamekit protested

"Dont worry I will tell the story" Snowfeather said.

"Whos the elder now!" Lightningpaw called to her. Snowfeather twiched her whiskers in reply.

"Lightningpaw can you go with Flowerstar and help her clear out her camp" Shadestar asked

"Sure" Lightningpaw walked over to Flowerstar.

"Thankyou for helping me" Flowerstar said. Lightningpaw flicked her tail. She followed the meadowclan out of the camp.

"So have you found a good place to set up your new camp?" Lightningpaw asked trying not to sound to rude. Flowerstar let out a small sigh.

"well we have but it needs to be cleared out" They came to the meadowclan border what smelled stale from, where they have not renewed the markers. The two females walked though the small running stream. They were now in Meadowclan territory. The grass was taller then Flowerstar. The sweet scent of flowers wafted around them. Bees buzzed around her ears. Soon they were out of the tall grass and the grass was flat. There was no trees in sight. There where some hills and the wind caught her fur. The ground was warmer then it was in the forest. Flowerstar flicked her tail for Lightningpaw to follow. Flowerstar ran swiftly over the short grass. Lightningpaw ran after her. They came to a halt. There was a small dip in the earth. Bramble thickets covered the floor.

"right so where do we start?" Lightningpaw asked

"well we can take them bramble thickets out and put them to side and, we can use them again" Flowerstar said while trying to pull one of the thickets out. Lightningpaw ran over to help her. She bit down on a thin branch. She pulled, slowly the branch slithered out from the tangle of other branches. Once the branch was lose she dragged it u from the ditch. Then she saw Treewish.

"Treewish! Help me and Flowerstar!" She called to the brown tabby. He had a burnt branch in his mouth. He put it down and ran over to her.

"So what do you want help with?"

"Well get these branches and put them up here so we can use them again" Lightningpaw instructed. She went back down into the ditched with Treewish and her side. 

"Good another cat to help. The more that help the sooner we can set up camp" Flowerstar said while dargging a long branch out of the ditch.

   They soon got half of the bramble thicket out of the ditch and were, heading back to Darkclan camp.

"I cant wait to just go to sleep" Treewish grunted. Lightningpaw grinned. I cant wait to. Soon they were in the cool clearing of the camp. Lightningpaw helped her self to a  plump rabbit.

"Hey Treewish want to share this with me?" Lightningpaw asked him. The young warrior ran towards her.

"Yes please i cant remember the last time I had a rabbit!" Treewish said while taking a bite of rabbit. Lightningpaw chuckled and started to eat the rabbit. She turned to see the kits fighting.

"Im going to be Shadestar" Smokekit said

"I will be honeystar" Silverkit said

"Im Lightningpaw" Riverkit said

"You cant be her she is a apprentice! Not a warrior" Rabbitkit said while licking his paw

"But she was at the battle" Riverkit retorted. She pounced on Rabbitkit. He squeaked under her weight. Lightningpaw ran up to them.

"Come its getting late" she said while breaking the two kits up.

"But we are not tried!" Silverkit yawned.

"I dont care come one" the kits slowly walked in to the nursery.

"You would make a good mother" Treewish said while walking up to her and, licking the blood from his jaws.

" Kits are to much work." Lightningpaw said with a grin. Treewish smiled and licked her shoulder.

"Lets get some rest, we need it" He said while walking over to the apprentice den with, Lightningpaw close behind. She stepped in the cool den and curled up in her nest.

She woke up to find her self near a river. She could smell prey and see small fish leaping out of the river.

"Hello Lightningpaw" Bluestar walked towards her with a big white tom.

"Hello Bluestar and, who is this?" Lightningpaw asked. He smelled like he came from a damp forest.

"I am Soulstar, the leader of Darkclan before Shadestar" He had a deep voice. His amber eyes seemed like a deep pools of gold.

"Why am I here? And why are you with Bluestar? She is not a clan cat from here." Lightningpaw was full of questions. Then a black tom came and sat next to Soulstar. Oh great more cats!

"I am Darkstar, the first leader of Darkclan. Me and Soulstar are here to tell you a prophecy." Darkstar shot a glance at Bluestar who, lashed her tail and walked off. Darkstar cleared his throat. Then suddenly she was in a thick silver mist. She could not even see her whiskers. The sky was grey, the ground was covered in a velvet mist. A voice echoed around her

" A lightning bolt will be born and bring fire. The lightning bolt will strike and bring death.Lightning and fire will battle. Peace will come with night. But be warned the lightning bolt holds the power of starclan and the clans in its paws. If this fate if for filled the clans hold in the balance...."
