Chapter 23

"What was that all about?" Snowfeather asked her deep brown eyes seemed to burn into Lightningfrost. They were padding though the forest back to DarkClan.

"Nothing you need to worry about" She replied calmly. Snowfeather just narrowed her eyes and continued to walk back to camp. Shadowmoon stopped and looked at Smokepaw

"What can you smell?" She asked her apprentice. Smokepaw opened his jaws to taste the air. The rest of the patrol stopped and turned to look at him. His eyes widened.

"Fox. Its stale though" He said worryingly. Shadowmoon smiled at him.

"Well done" she said.

"We better get back and inform Shadestar." Lightningfrost said.

Once they were back at the camp Riverpaw told Shadestar about the fox.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the high log for a clan meeting!" He bellowed. Thistkehawk came out of the warriors den and sat next to Shadestar. Redfoot came out of his den and sat with Greydawn and Flamepaw. Sunsky trotted over to Lightningfrost who was sitting with Shadowmoon, Smokepaw, Snowfeather and Riverpaw.

"I thought you were going battle training?" Hissed Snowfeather to Shadowmoon.

"I did not want to take the chance with the fox about." She replied. Shadestar raised his black tail for silence.

"I have been told that there has been a fox lurking in our territory. I would like to make sure that we take more care around our territory and have more patrols" cats started to murmur

"Why should we take more care in our own territory?!" A cat shouted. Lightningfrost flicked her ear. Shadestars green eyes narrowed. His fur bristled.

" Are you questioning my judgment?!" He hissed. Cats started to be quiet. "I would also like to say that Troutpool will take her place as deputy. Thistlehawk you have served me and the clan well since Troutpool has had her kits so I thankyou for that" Shadestar dipped his head to the grey and white warrior. Thistlehawk just dipped his head and jumped down from the high log and sat next to Shadowmoon. Shadowmoon licked his ear.

"That is all" Shadestar finished jumped down from the high log and went to his cave den. Lightningfrost got up and went to the fresh kill pile and took a squirrel. She settled down and started to eat the fresh kill. Riverpaw bounded up to her

"Can I practise some battle moves with you?" She asked. Lightningfrost licked the blood from her jaws and stood up.

"I'm going to rest, maybe tomorrow" she yawned. Riverpaw looked upset but dipped her head and ran over to her brothers. Lightningfrost walked over to the warriors den and layed in her nest.

Lightningfrost woke up. Moon light filled the warrior den. Slowly she jumped over the sleeping warriors. She crawled out of the den. Sunsky was on guard. Lightningfrost went over to the entrance

"Were are you going?" Sunkey asked.

"I want to take a walk or is that breaking the warrior code?" Lightningfrost challenged . Sunsky grinned. Lightningfrost walk though the forest until Sunsky could no longer see her. Then she burst into a sprint down to the Streamclan border. Nighthawk was already there. Her tail was wrapped around her paws.

"What did you want?" Lightningfrost said walking towards her. Nighthawk turned to look at her.

"You know when we were apprentices and you asked if I have been having any strange dreams? I have" Nighthawk said. Nighthawk told her about the prophecy. Lightningfrost took it all in. Lightningfrost trusted the Streamclan warrior and told her about her power. That she is all clan blood.

Unknown cats POV

He stood there taking in what the warriors were saying. They could not see him as he hid in a bush listening in on there conversation that Lightningfrost was all clan blood. His eyes widened. His fur stood up on end. She was brought here to destroy the clans! The chilling thought sent shivers down his spine...

Lightningfrosts POV

"So we are on the same side?" Nighthawk said.

"Yes I guess we are" lightningfrost replied

"So we know that we are apart of the prophecy but what does it mean?" Nighthawk questioned. Lightningfrost shook her head.

"I don't know" she answered. The she cats stood there in silence.

"Well I better get back. Let's hope Starclan send us more signs" Nighthawk said looking over her shoulder as she walked away. Lightningfrost flicked her tail in fair well and headed back to camp
