Chapter 26

A paw nudged Lightningfrost awake. She blinked her eyes open to find that she was still at the sky-rock. Stumbling to her paws her eyes widened when she remembered Strongpaw.

"We have to go" Redfoot said. He jaws parted in a yawn. Lightningfrost looked around wildly for her brother. Lose and pain stabbed at her heart. All she wanted to do was see her brother. She had to get away. Darkclan just seemed to be filled with lies and secrets. She broke into a run. Redfoot called her back but, she kept running. She ran blindly though the forest. The snow tried to slow her down but she powered though. The land seemed frozen. Ice hung from the trees. Cooled wind ruffled her fur. Its felt like icy claws on her nose. Then a StarClan appered in front of her. She ran pasted him and stopped

"I can't live with the lies and secrets!" She yowled looking up at the night sky

"Your destiny is not over Lightningfrost, nor has it begun" she turned around to see Bluestar.

"I just want to be with my brother!" She wailed. Strongpaw was the only cat that felt close to her. She has spent many moons alone as a kit, but the whole time her brother was alone in StarClan.

"There will time when you can see him more" the she cat said then she faded. Lightningfrost ran again. Soon she came to the Darkclan border that lead into unknown territory. She hesitated.

"The past is behind me" she whispered. She put her paw over the border. She unslid her claws and closed her eyes as hard as could. She remembered what she hurt Nighthawk and Greydawn. How she lied to her clan about her mixed clan blood."Let's it go" she growled. She ran over the border. The trees thinned out to show small hills. Snow began to pour out of the grey sky.

"The cold never bothered me anyway" she said with a grin. She continued to walk over the unknown territory. The hills seemed to get taller. As she got to the top she saw the forest and how small it was.

"You have to go back" a voice echoed around her.

"I can't. I can't stay there!" She growled. She wanted to go back but she knew that she couldn't stay. The glowing snow lit up the ground. Anger built up inside her.

"You can't tell them about your blood" the voice said in a whisper

"I know! I have held it back for so long!" She wailed. However even being away from the territory she felt free.

"You don't understand! A cat knows of your power!"
