Chapter 24

Two moons have pasted since Lightningfrost had met up with Nighthawk. The clan was doing well. Lightningfrost woke to a cold leaf-bare morning. She slowly go out of her nest and stretched all four limbs. As she walked out of the warrior den snow filled the clearing. Flamepaw and Smokepaw were tossing lumps of snow at each other.

"If any of that hits me I will claw your ears off" Lightningfrost said while grinning, walking past the apprentices with out giving them a single glance. Sunsky and Snowfeather were sharing tounges by the willow tree. As Lightningfrost bounding towards them, Sunsky glanced at her.

"This cold weather is doing nothing for my old bones" she muttered.

"You far from old Sunsky, your just a little out of shape" Snowfeather said with a meow of laughter. Sunsky cuffed her lightly around the ear.

"This snow does nothing for my pelt. It weighs me down and sticks to my fur" Lightningfrost said giving her white bellie a few licks.

"At least your fur is long and thick so you don't get to cold as quick" Sunsky retorted. Lightningfrost glanced at her with an icy stare

"In green-leaf I can't do as many patrols because my fur is too thick, I get a lot hotter quicker then you do" Lightningfrost said calmly. Snowfeather stood up and shook her pelt.

"Well while you two argue on who has the better pelt, I'm going to find Troutpool to set up a hunting patrol" Snowfeather said while trotting off.

"She seems to be in a good mood" huffed Sunsky while she rested her head on her paws. Her yellow eyes never left Snowfeather. Lightningfrost followed her gaze. Snowfeather had finished talking to Troutpool and was now off to find her apprentice.

"Well she is the best hunter in the clan now since the snow is here" Lightningfrost stated turning to Sunsky.

"Every cat knows Shadowmoon is the best hunter however, I can see your right as she blends in with the snow" Sunsky said. The two cats laid there in silence until Flamepaw tossed and ball of snow that hit Sunsky in the face. The ginger warrior stood up

"Mouse-brained apprentice!" She growled to Lightningfrost. Lightningfrost grinned as Sunsky jumped down from the rock and stalked over to the young cat. Lightningfrost turned to look at the forest. It was beautiful, snow covered the trees and the morning sun made the snow look like crystals, glittering in the sun light. Then something caught her eye. There was a cat. She could see though him and his pelt lit up like stars. Lightningfrost stood up ans walked towards the cat. However he turned away and bounded thought the forest. She charged after him. What seemed like a life time of running the tom finally stopped. He turned to look at her he eyes filled with worry. Lightningfrost opened her jaws to speak but the StarClan cat cut her off.

"It does not matter what my name is nor what clan I am from" he rasped. Lightningfrost closed her jaws and lashed her tail. "I am here to tell you that a cat knows of your power, and thinks that you were created to destroy the clans" he said. Lightningfrost beared her fangs and hissed at the cat.

"I would never do such a thing!" She spat. The tom shook his head

"These are troubled times young warrior." He said resting his tail on her shoulder.

" What shall I do?" She asked giving a sideways glance at the tom.

"Do what ever you think is right" he said and he began to fade.
