Chapter 28

They arrived at the DarkClan camp. Lightningfrost followed Snowfeather though the tunnel. Once they were in the clearing cats were gathering around Lightningfrost.

"Give her some space!" A voice yowled. Shadestar shouldered his way though the crowd. Shadowmoon was not far behind

"Where were you?!" Shadowmoon meowed.

"I chased a fox out of the territory, I lost track of were I was going and got lost. The snow covered up my scent" She lied. She looked around at her clan mates. They were all mumbling to one another. They seemed to be full of questions.

"We must call a meeting" Shadestar said. He turned around and bounded over to the high log. He bunched up his muscles and jumped on the slippery log, "let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the high log for a clan meeting!" He bellowed. Cats began to break away from Lightningfrost and began to gather under the high log

"I hope Shadestar give us our warrior names" Flamepaw murmured. Lightningfrost waited until her clan mates had sat down before joining them at the back. Riverpaw, Smokepaw and Flamepaw jumped up next to the high log.

"I would like to announce that Lightningfrost has returned after chasing a fox out of our territory" he narrowed his green eyes at her. He didn't seemed to believe her, you wouldn't understand, she thought

"Lightningfrost! Lightningfrost!" The clan cheered. She dipped her head. She looked around. The whole clan looked happy for her return. Her gaze rested on Greydawn. His blue eyes were narrowed but he dipped his head to her. She dipped her head back.

"I would also like to announce that Riverpaw, Flamepaw and Smokepaw have finished their apprentice training. Riverpaw step forward" Shadestar said. The silver tabby stepped forward. Her light blue eyes lit up as she stood next to her father.

"Snowfeather, has Riverpaw learnt the way of the warrior code?"

"She sure has" Snowfeather said. Her brown eyes rested proudly on Riverpaw.

"From now on you shall be known as Riverlight, for your loyalty and intelligence. May StarClan light your path" he said and rested his chin on her head. Riverlight licked his shoulder and stepped back.

"Smokepaw" Shadestar flicked his tail for his son to step forward. Smokepaw stepped forward

"Shadowmoon, has Smokepaw learnt the way of the warrior code?"

"Yes, he will make a fine warrior" Shadowmoon purred.

"Then from now on you shall be known as Smokestorm , for your strength and speed. May StarClan light your path" Shadestar said. Smokestorm smiled at Lightningfrost, she dipped her head. Shadestar rested his head on Smokestorm. He licked his shoulder in reply. Smokestorm stepped back and Flamepaw stepped forward

" Greydawn has Flamepaw learnt the way of the warrior code?"

"Yes" Greydawn said dipping his head

"Flamepaw you shall know be known as Flamespark for you skill and intelligence. May StarClan light your path" shadestar rested his chin on Flamesparks head. The tabby ginger warrior liked his shoulder.

"Riverlight! Smokestorm! Flamespark!" The clan chanted. The new warriors jumped down from the high log. Their clan mates congradulated the new warriors. Lightningfrost waited until her clan mates broke apart from the new warriors. She stood up and slowly walked over to them.

"Congratulations" she purred.

"Thankyou lightningfrost" Flamespark said.

"Lightning-" Riverlight began. Lightningfrost put her tail on the grey tabbys mouth.

"You can't speak until tomorrow" she reminded her. Riverlight grinned and she walked over to an open area to sit her vigil. Her litter mates followed her. Lightningfrost let out a yawn.

"You must be tired" said Redfoot walking towards her.

"I am a bit" she said.

"Go and rest" he said. Lightningfrost walked over to the warriors den and settled down in her nest.

Lightningfrost woke up to find her self in a familiar place. Tall dark pine trees block the sun light from seeping though. A thick, velvet mist covered the forest floor. The stench of crow food hit her black nose.

"Lightningfrost" a voice said, she spun around to see Hawkfrost. She bounded up to him and buried her muzzle in his fur. He wrapped his tail around hers. They sat there for a few heart beats, their muzzles in each others fur breathing in each others scent. Their tail wrapped around each others.

"I have not seen you in so long" she whispered. She looked into his ice blue eyes

"I have to tell you something" he said

"What is it?"

"I can no longer see you Lightningfrost, its not your destiny to be with me and we could never be proper mates" he growled. Her heart seemed to stop. The forest around her seemed to have froze. Tears started to build in her eyes. She dug her claws into the ground. The one cat she loved had told her it was over.

"I don't care-" she started

"Ah so this is Lightningfrost, the cat with all clan blood" a deep voice boomed. Hawkfrost and Lightningfrost turned around to see a huge dark brown tabby tom. Hawkfrost growled.

"Leave Tigerstar" he hissed. Tigerstar narrowed his eyes.

"Now, now Hawkfrost that's no way to speak to your father"Tigerstar said. Lightningfrost narrowed her eyes.

"Tigerstar just go" Hawkfrost said. Tigerstar walked over to them. Then all of a sudden he kicked Hawkfrost to one side. And jumped on Lightningfrost. He was to quick for her. He pinned her down and held his paw on her throat.

"So this is the she-cat you care so much about" he snarled. Tigerstar unseathed his claws and dug them into her neck. Hawkfrost yowled and jumped on Tigerstar. The two toms started to wrestle. Lightningfrost stagged to her paws but a grey tom with black legs, tail and muzzle ran towards her. His amber eyes wide. Strongpaw

"Go! GO!" Hawkfrost rasped. Strongpaw flicked his tail for her to follow. Lightningfrost and Strongpaw ran though the forest.

Soon they were in StarClan territory. Lightningfrost clasped to the floor. Blood dripped from her throat.

"I will go and get spottedleaf!" Strongpaw said. He dashed of and came back with a pretty she-cat. Lightningfrost blacked out.

A paw prodded her awake. It was Strongpaw.

"Hawkfrost!" Lightningfrost said jumping to her paws.

"He is ok, Lightningfrost I'm here to tell you something" Strongpaw said. Lightningfrost looked at him. Slowly she sat down.

"What is it?" She asked

"A once jumping rabbit with to much knowledge will be brought down by some lightning fast claws. Fire will see and burn with and anger but the moon will shine bright"Strongpaw whispered

"That makes no sense!" Lightningfrost said loudly.

"Shhhh! Keep your voice down!" He hissed. Lightningfrost narrowed her eyes.

"Why is it such a secret?" She hissed.

"No other StarClan cat knows of this prophecy and that's how its gonna stay" he said. Lightningfrost decided to push her litter mate anymore about the prophecy

"Its time you got back" he said. Then StarClan began to fade.
