Chapter Twenty-Four

Jacob's POV:

Sunday

I know Julianna is nervous about our family knowing about Sophia but I think they'll love her. Hell, I've only known her for 2 days & I love her like she's my own. I'm going to spoil her. I don't wanna spoil her rotten & turn her into a snob. I will have my moments where I have to put my foot down.

Her & Julianna teamed up on me using the puppy dog face. That shit works too. Yesterday we went to Toy's R' Us. I brought her over $200 worth of toys. Then we went to buy her some more clothes.

"Jacob, I think we should invite Ayden & Peyton over to meet Sophia.", Julianna said sitting next to me.

"If you want to then we can. They gonna find out eventually.", I told her.

"I'm about to text him to come over in about 2 hours. I'm going to shower. Can you make Sophie her lunch after you shower?", she asked standing up.

"Yeah. Daddy J got this.", I said standing up kissing her lips.

"Okay, Daddy.", she whispered seductively against my lips.

"Don't tease me. Go shower.", I said pointing upstairs.

"Yes, Daddy.", she said winking & going upstairs.

Damn, this girl is gonna be the death of me.

Julianna's POV:

Ayden & Peyton agreed to come over since I haven't seen them in like forever. I was cleaning the kitchen then I heard the door bell.

I opened the door & saw Ayden & Peyton standing there.

"Hey guys. Come in.", I said moving so they could come in.

"What was so important that you haven't talked to us in months?", Ayden asked rudely.

"Sorry. I was busy with school & work & stuff.", I said feeling bad. I didn't mean to neglect them.

"It's okay Julie.", Peyton said giving me a hug. Just then Sophia came running in.

"Mommy! Mommy! The monster's coming to get me!", she said hugging my leg, pointing in Jacobs direction.

"Mommy?!", Ayden & Peyton asked in unison.

"How long have we been gone for you to be a mommy?!", Ayden asked yelling.

"Mommy. That mean man is scaring me!", Sophia said crying. Jacob picked her up & went upstairs.

"Why is she calling you mommy, Julianna? Don't make me ask again.", Ayden asked.

"First of all, don't talk down on me. I'm a grown ass woman. Second of all, I'm going to adopt her.", I said trying to calm down.

"Why the hell are you adopting a child when you're a child yourself?", he asked.

"You know what, you can get the fuck out of my house if you disrespect me one more time. I don't have time for your bullshit. I wanted both of y'all to know, that's why I wanted y'all here.", I said. He is really pissing me off. I'm about to punch him in his shit.

"Man. What the fuck ever. Like I said before, why the fuck are you adopting her? You don't have time for a child?!", he yelled.

"BECAUSE I'M ALL SHE HAS! SHE HAS NOBODY!", I yelled in his face. He just stood there with a blank expression & walked into the kitchen, I didn't know I was crying until I felt Peyton wipe a tear from my face.

"Julie, are you sure you can handle taking care of a child?", Peyton asked softly.

"Yes, I can. She goes to work with me everyday. The only time I won't get to see her is when I'm at school & I'm thinking about taking my classes online.", I said.

"Well, can you tell me the real reason you're adopting her?", she asked me. I told her the whole story of why I wanted to do this & her jaw dropped. "What the fuck? What type of parent says that?", she asked.

"I don't know. Jake & I went to adopt her yesterday. They are coming to do home observations every now & then for a month."

"Well, I'm here for you if you need anything.", she said giving me a hug.

"Thank you for being so supportive.", I whispered.

"No problem. Now where is my little niece?", she asked smiling. I went upstairs & saw Jacob laying on the bed with her on his chest, both of them asleep. "Peyton, come here!", I whisper-yelled downstairs. She came upstairs & I pointed to the bed.

"Awe. He is gonna be a great Daddy.", she whispered.

"Yeah. He is.", a voice said. I turned around & saw Ayden standing there. "Julianna, I'm sorry for lashing out at out like that. I was wrong. Can you forgive me?", he asked.

"Yeah. I forgive you.", I said giving him a hug. I took a picture of them asleep & went downstairs with Ayden & Peyton.

We all watched TV for about 30 minutes until I heard Jacob come down with Sophia in his arms.

"Hey my babies. Have a good nap?", I asked.

"Yes.", they said in unison.

"Daddy, can I have a gwilled cheese, pwease?", Sophia asked Jacob.

"Sure thing, Princess.", he said kissing her forehead & going into the kitchen. Peyton waved at Sophia, she waved back then hid her face in her hands. Ayden just smiled & watched carefully.

"Hey cutie. I like your hair.", Peyton told her.

"Tank you. My mommy did it.", she said shyly.

"Well it's really really pretty. What's your name?", Peyton asked.

"Sophia. What's your name?", Sophia asked.

"I'm your Auntie Peyton. & that man over there is your Uncle Ayden.", Peyton said pointing at Ayden.

"Hey sweetie.", he said to her. Sophia climbed in my lap & hid her face in my chest.

"Sophie, don't you wanna say hi.", I said rubbing her back.

"No.", she said muffled.

"Why?"

'Because he mean & he scares me.", she whispered. Ayden looked hurt by her words because he yelled earlier & scared her.

"He's not scary. He's nice. He's my big brother. & Auntie Peyton is my sister. Just think of him as a big teddy bear. ", I said.

She sat up & carefully walked over where Ayden was. She stood in front of him & poked his face & giggled.

"Mommy, his face is soft like a teddy bear, too.", she said which made Ayden laugh.

"Oh really?", he said. She nodded her head & he picked her up & started tickling her.

"Uncle Aywen! Stop!", she said in between laughs.

"Uncle Ayden is sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I won't do it again.", he told her.

"Pinky Pwomise?", she asked sticking her pinky out.

"Pinky Promise.", he said wrapping his pinky around hers.

"Sophia, your grilled cheese is ready!", Jacob yelled from in the kitchen. She got up & ran in the kitchen.

"So when are you telling mama & daddy?", Peyton asked me.

"I honestly don't know. But I do know it'll be sometime tomorrow or this week.", I said.

Hopefully, they won't freak out like Ayden. That's the last thing I need right now.
