Chapter Twenty-Nine

Julianna's POV:

"Alright, kids! I'll see you later! Behave!", I told the kids as they walked out.

"Mommy, why are we still here?", Sophia asked.

"I have to help out one of my friends & you have to behave, okay?"

"I be good.", she said sitting down.

I went to my gym bag & got out my water bottle. I opened the top & then I heard a knock on the door.

"R dawg in the house!", I heard a deep voice say. I turned my head & saw Roshon.

"Hey, Roshon.", I said giving him a friendly hug.

"Wassup? How ya' been?", he asked pulling away from the hug.

"I'm good. You?"

"Good. Living life.", he said.

"Mommy, can I have some water?", Sophia asked me.

"Here you go.", I said, handing her my bottle of water.

"Tank you.", she said giving me my water bottle back.

"Your welcome, sweetie.", I leaned down, kissing her cheek.

"Who's this little cutie?", Roshon asked, kneeling down to her level.

"My name is Sophia. What's your name?", she asked nicely. She's finally getting over her shyness, I'm so proud of her.

"I'm Roshon. Do you like to dance?", he asked her.

"Yes. I wike ballet.", she said.

"That's cool. I like hip-hop. Do you wanna watch your Mommy & I dance?", he asked her. She started nodding her head really fast. She ran to the other side of the dance studio & sat in the chair.

"Alright. Let's get started.", I said tying my hair up in a ponytail.

About 2 hours later we finally finished.

"I didn't know you have a daughter.", Roshon said wiping sweat from his forehead.

"Yeah. I just became one.", I said.

"Just became one?", he asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"We're adopting her, Jacob & I.", I said.

"Hm, may I ask why?", he asked.

"Long story short her mom didn't want her so we're adopting her.", I said.

"Wow. That's really nice of y'all. If it makes you feel any better, you guys are gonna be wonderful parents.", he said smiling, showing his dimples.

"Aww, thank you. That means a lot.", I smiled.

"Your welcome. Well, I need to go so I can shower. I smell horrible.", he said making me laugh.

"Yeah. We should get going too. I'll see you later.", I said gathering up Sophia's things & mine.

We got home & I gave Sophia a bath & I showered. The house was a mess so I decided it was time for a little house cleaning. Well who am I kidding, I mean a big house cleaning. When I mean big I mean big! Washing walls, cleaning windows, mopping the floor, everything.

"Sophia, come here!", I yelled from downstairs. I was about to clean the dishes until I heard the doorbell ring. I looked through the peephole & saw Kendra, the social worker.

"Hey! Um, I didn't know you were coming.", I said opening the door.

"Yeah, well that's the thing. We're not supposed to tell you when we're coming. We just come by just in case if something happens then we'll be able to help the child or situation.", she explained.

"Oh yeah. I totally understand. Come in. Please excuse the mess, we were just cleaning the house.", I said opening the door more so she can come in.

"Don't mind me. Just continue what you were doing. Pretend I'm not here.", Kendra said, taking out a note pad.

"Did you call me, Mommy?", Sophia asked coming downstairs.

"Yes, sweetie. We're cleaning today & I need you to clean your room.", I said.

"I don't know how to.", Sophia said.

"Just put all your toys in the toy chest & put your dirty clothes in the dirty clothes hamper. I'll do the rest.", I explained to her.

"Okay, Mommy.", she said walking upstairs.

'And we dance all night to the best song ever! We knew every line. Now I can't remember!", Sophia & I sung to the music on my iHome.

I was washing the walls while she drying the small silverware like the spoons & forks. I didn't want her touching the knives. We finished everything, now the house looks spotless.

"Babe, I'm home!", Jacob said slamming the door.

"Daddy!", Sophia said running to him.

"Hey, Princess!", he said picking her up.

"I help Mommy clean today.", she said smiling.

"You did?", he said walking into the living room.

"Mhm.", she said laying her head on his chest.

He walked into the living room & saw Kendra.

"Hey. I didn't know you were here.", he said putting Sophia down.

"Yeah. We're not allowed to tell when we're coming. I've been here for like an hour. Well, I'll see you guys later.", Kendra said gathering up her things.

"I was just about to fix dinner. Your welcome to join us.", I said drying my hands.

"No, I should get going.", she said.

"Are you sure?", I asked.

"Yeah. My husband is probably at home worried sick. But thanks for asking. I'll see you guys another time.", she said walking towards the door. She closed the door & Jacob looked at me.

"So what's for dinner?", he asked with a smirk.
