Chapter Forty Three

I scan the room looking for my parents and my eyes meet my dads, he nods in approval and then my eyes meet Roberts. Tears pool my eyes, "Yes, Yes Yes Yes!" He picks me up, kisses me and spins me around. He places the diamond ring on my ring finger. It's beautiful!

The DJ announces, "I guess we have another wedding ladies and gentlemen!" The crowd cheers for us and I can't believe what just happened. Robert Downey Jr. is my fiancé.

Robert and I spend the rest of the night dancing in each others arms. My mom even joins Rob for a dance and as the night ends I sit with my parents. They express their happiness of my engagement and tell me that Rob had previously spoken to them, asking for my hand! How respectful! He's going to get some very much deserved nooky tonight *wink wink*.

The night comes to an end with some final words and thanks from the newly weds, a bunch of our friends all over Robert asking for pictures with him (even Serena's aunts were all over him!)

We eventually step outside and we're bombarded by paparazzi on our way to the car. We expected this since J told us halfway through the reception paparazzi were crowding the entrance to the hall. Thank goodness for the security team otherwise this annoyance we're dealing with now would've been dealt with inside.

They seem to notice my engagement ring and as we're walking down the walkway to the car, J and two other guys from his team guarding us, one of the paparazzi yells "Is that an engagement ring?" Another one, "Are we going to hear wedding bells soon for Iron Man?!" And I'm thinking Rob is going to blow them off or just give them a vague answer but as I step into the SUV, he turns around and says, "She is my future wife!" Oh my god.

He steps into the vehicle and we are off, I convinced Rob to just drive down to the penthouse, I miss long rides in a car, it's something from my childhood ill always remember, my dad and mom taking me on long trips in the car on the highway...

"Rob why'd you-"

"They're gonna figure it out, I mean the ring isn't exactly small, I didn't intend for it to be." He shines his smile at me and puts his hand on my lap.

"We're getting married..." I say it out loud to see if it'll fit in my head.

"Yes babe, we are."

"When?"

"Umm... Whenever we're ready... I mean if it were up to me we'd be married tonight." He's too cute.

"Well I want this wedding to be well thought out. I have to meet your parents Rob, I know you told them about me but I want to see them."

"Ok, I'll arrange that to happen next week, they know I've proposed to you."

"Everyone knew except me! Shit! And all the hints you dropped I didn't even pick up on one of them!"

"Well I was counting on it because you were so distracted with all Serena's wedding details..."

"Perfect timing."

"Expect nothing less from Iron Man. I always get what I want." I raise an eyebrow at him and we both laugh and talk through the ride home, mostly about the wedding, our wedding. I'm too excited.

We arrive to the penthouse and wait for Serena and Alex to get here. She still has no idea of the honeymoon plans!

I pack some of my stuff that I left out and Rob does the same. J is placing our bags in the SUV, as well as Serena and Alex's belongings.

"Rob where exactly are we going?"

"We're going to Paris." Wait. What?! He sees the expression on my face and laughs.

"Surprise! It's your engagement gift from me! Alex and I have you two fooled!"

"When are we telling Serena?"

"Alex will tell her when they arrive." We continue getting ready and I have no idea how this week could get any better. It can't. It's too perfect.

We hear the elevator ding and I know it means they're here. Rob buzzes them in and in come the newly weds! She's still in her wedding dress so I take her to our room.

"Do you have any idea where we're going Amber? Alex won't tell me anything he says Rob knows."

"I'm just as lost as you are girl. Maybe they'll tell us now. I'm gonna step outside finish getting dressed, all our stuff is packed away already so that's all you have to worry about. You can put the dress in the dress bag and in my closet."

"Thanks girl ill be out in a sec." I step outside and my man is no where to be seen. He's probably taking Alex somewhere to get the tux off.

"J could you give me a small glass of wine? Just a sip."

"Certainly miss Amber, or should I say future Mrs. Downey." I giggle.

"So you knew too!"

"I helped your fiancé pick out the ring, I hope you love it miss."

"I do, I really do. And for the wedding I want you to come as our guest, not working for us I'm sure Robert would love that."

"If that's ok with Mr. Downey I would be delighted. Thank you miss."

"Nope, thank you, for everything you do." He really does a lot for Rob and I and I'm really appreciative to him, he's like family.

"Here you go miss." He hands me the sip of wine and it tastes divine. Rob comes down the stairs and sees me.

"Drinking without me?"

"I just needed a sip babe."

"Ok well listen we need to get in the car. Alex is coming down and when Serena gets out he wants to surprise her."

"Ok let's go." I grab my carry on and we are off.
