Gone

Happy's POV~

Natsu was inconsolable. It had been a week since Sue died. When Natsu got back to the guild everyone was horrified.

Mirajane's POV~

Natsu, Sue, Happy, and Angel had been gone for two days now on the S-Class quest.

And when they finally got home after three days, everyone was relieved.

Natsu appeared through the front door, Happy lifelessly floating by his side. I ran up to him. "Hey Natsu! What's up?" I said. I looked into his eyes. They were sad and deathly. "What's wrong Natsu?" I asked. And then I realized Sue and Angel were nowhere to be found.

"Natsu. Where is Sue?" I asked worried. He only spoke one phrase, "Sh-she's gone." And with that he turned around and left.

Happy told us what happened, tears streaming down his face. Everyone in the guild was crying and depressed.

Natsu didn't appear for another week. And when he did come back he didn't talk, he didn't eat, and most of all he didn't smile.

It seemed as if his entire world had came crashing down and he found no reason to keep trying.

After a month a funeral was held at the church. It was a rainy, gloomy day. The strangest part of it was that Natsu didn't cry at all. He seemed exhausted and unable to keep going.

One day I went to check on him at his home. But he wasn't there. I was about to leave when I heard the faintest voice.

I walked around his house and into his back yard. Underneath an enormous Sakura tree was a grave.

I heard what Natsu was saying. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I couldn't keep a simple promise. Together forever."

Tears slipped down my face. Natsu was holding all this pain.

Natsu's POV~

I was sitting by Sue's grave once again. Suddenly I heard a voice.

Natsu, stop tearing yourself down. Do it for me. I'm fine. And we will see each other again. That is my promise.

It was Sue's. I could never mistake that voice. Something inside me lit a fire. 'We will see each other again.' Those words rang in my head. And I found the courage and energy that I thought I had lost.

"She's not gone."
