The Flames of Friendship (Natsu's Sister Fanfic)

The Storm of Flames

It was a beautiful, sunny morning in Magnolia when the  Fairy Tail boat was ready to take off toawrds Tenrou Island. Everyone gathered at the harbor to wish the examines good luck and a safe journey.

"Where's the master?" Inquired Sue. 

"I have no idea, I haven't seen him since he made the big speech in the guild hall. He is probably making last minute preparations." Said Erza.

"Brats!!!" Said a voice from the top of the boat. "It's time! Good Luck to you all!!!" It was Makarov.

The examines and their partners boarded the ship...

"I don't feel so good!" Said Sue as her face turned green.

"Me neither!" Said Natsu, hurling over the side of the ship. 

"Get a hold of yourselves losers!" Yelled Gray. 

"The sky doesn't look so good." Said Levy, peering at the cluster of dark gray clouds quickly advancing towards the boat. 

"Master, what should we do?!" Said Macao.

Everyone turned to see what he was going to say, just to see that he had disappeared from the mast  of the ship. 

"This must be part of the challenge!" Yelled Freed over the howling wind and rain. "He did say the test starts as soon as we get on the boat."

Lightning was coming from the dark clouds. 

"It must be Laxas." Said Freed as a lightning bolt struck the boat and caught fire to the sail.

Everyone began to pannick and run in different directions until Bisca spoke up, "Everyone! this is not a challenge we can do alone. To get through this alive we have to work together!"

"She's right! Natsu, Sue, get up! We need you!" Said Alzack. 

No response. 

"Now's not the time to sleep! GET UP!" Said Erza as she lifted both Natsu and Sue into the air and threw them into the raging storm of flames.

For a moment nothing happened, but all of a sudden the flames began to be sucked into the center of the storm. Through the thick cloud of smoke appeared Sue and Natsu, looking healthier than ever. 

"Thanks for the meal! I'm all fired up!!!" Yelled the two in unison.

Bright red-orange wings of fire sprouted out of Sue's back and she soared into the sky, straight toward the eye of the hurricane. 

"Come back! It's too dangerous!" Cried Levy. 

"She'll be fine." Assured Natsu.

Erza spoke up, " Well if we can't help her with the storm than we shall fix the boat! Freed and Levy set up times to prevent lightning from touching the boat!"

"Were on it!" They shouted.

 Erza continued, "EverGreen use your wings to bring Natsu to help Sue. 

"Fine, but I'm not doing it because you told me to." EverGreen said coolly as she grabbed Natsu and soared towards the eye.

"Gray and Droy make a shield to prevent the boat from flooding. Jet bring materials to everyone. Everyone else help rebuild the boat. We need help on the sail, cabin, and lower deck. Let's work together to get through this. We're not gonna let this little storm stop us. Let's go!!!" Ordered Erza.

 "Wow Erza is amazing!" Swooned Loke in admiration.

Back up at the storm, Sue and Natsu were doing everything to get to the eye of the storm, but the raging wint current prevent them from reaching it. A bolt of lighting hit struck EverGreen and Natsu back down to the ship.

Natsu looked up to see Sue had reached the eye of the hurricane. In the center of the storm was a sphere of lightning. 

"Roar of the Fire Dragon!!!" Yelled Sue as jets of fire spouted out of her mouth. She missed because the wind was throwing off her aim. She tried again, "Roar of the--"

A bolt of lightning nearly struck her. She stumbled back and the fire in her wings sputtered.

"Fire Dragon Roarrrrr!" She screamed with one final effort.

Her shot was good. She knocked the sphere out of the eye of the storm. Unfortunately the sphere began to plummet straight towards the boat. 

"Our runes won't be able to take that much lightning!" Said Levy. 

The sphere was  raced down towards the ship. Suddenly there was an enormous flash of light.

When the light diminished the sphere was gone, along with the storm; the only thing in the clear, blue sky was Sue floating in mid-air.

Natsu was trembling as he murmered, "No way. She ... ate it! She ate the lightning!"

"Won't it be okay? She eats fire all the time?" Asked Gray, with a hint of concern in his voice.

"No, you idiot! Fire Dragon slayers can only eat fire! I've never seen her eat lightning before, and I have no idea what toll it can take on her body!" Said a panicking Natsu.

Sue's wings flickered out and she went crashing into the calm ocean. 

"We have to get her out, she'll drown!" Said Bisca. "Natsu...."

She turned to Natsu, but he was gone. In the water, was not only one pink head, but two.

He brought her back on the boat. She was unconscious and breathing heavily. 

"Droy bring me the medicinal plants!" Order Erza. 

"Yes Madame!" Said Droy.

"EverGreen, Natsu, you should both take some two. Those burns from the lightning can't feel good." She said each handing them the medicine.

Somewhere from Tenro Island the guildmaster was staring into a servalince lacrima. 

"You did well brats, you did well." Whispered Makarov. "But, the challenges will be more difficult! Yes, much more difficult!"
