Eden had left hours ago, and I had moved back to the other equipment, figuring out how to combine the new stuff I had learned with the things I already knew. As I stood pondering out the new moves then practicing them, I felt someone's presence behind me. I turned, knowing it would be Nate since the gym had long since closed. As I turned the smell of pizza wafted over to me, enticing me further, I clapped eyes on him and saw the wolfish grin on his face as he waved the unmarked bag in front of my face. I gave him no warning before I pounced on him, trying to wrestle the bag out of his hands
"Joe!!" he shouted for backup as he struggled up the stairs, to Joe's office with me still on his back all the while I was cackling like a mad woman. We burst into the office, to find Joe chucking heartily at us fighting over pizza
"you two are like two children" she stated as he took the bag from Nate's hands freeing him to flip me off his back, and drop me onto the couch in the corner the pain in my back ebbed, but I tried to keep it out of my face as I hopped up and grabbed some pizza.

Conversation flowed easily between the two of us over dinner, and we were laughing and joking around like we usually did, until our attention turned to school, the boys were telling me about high school for them, though it was mostly complaints about the old battle-axe teachers they had. "So what did your dad say about you getting expelled" Nate asked me suddenly. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. With all eyes on me I could feel the tension in the room rising by the second
"oh, err the usual, think about your future, you should feel bad" I lied, adding in a shrug to make myself more believable, but I could tell that I wasn't fooling anyone "anyway, I should get back, you don't get better than Nate by not practicing" I rose abruptly, cleared away all the mess we had made, and scuttled out of the room shutting the door behind me before they could ask any more. As I was walking away, I heard Nate say
"she flinches every time she takes a hit to her back, and Eden said she is very wary of people touching her back for long" I scurried faster, so they didn't catch me eavesdropping on the conversation. I made it back to the matts I was stood at earlier, and began practicing again.
