I wake to the sound of explosions coming from afar. Throwing myself off the floor, I duck underneath my "window". Despite the dark light of the blood red moon, the large cliff that hold the Valley of the Dark Lords is flashing brightly enough to illuminate the whole canyon that our village rested in. I felt my heart pound as I watched the scene unfold. This is the end, I think to myself. Bracing myself against the cold stone, I squeezed my eyes closed, and unknowingly, I rendered myself unconscious.
Note: I will be changing POV sometimes, but I'll label it :)
Anakin's POV
We landed on Korriban in the dark. The Jedi Council had sent us here with a very specific purpose. We were to infiltrate the Sith Academy here. They were becoming a menacing threat, and our best option was to dismantle the problem from the inside. I knew we weren't here to kill anyone on our own, but I secretly hoped that some shallow Sith Apprentice would try and engage in a fight with me.
" Anakin," said Obi Wan, giving me a look of warning. I silently cursed myself for letting him read my thoughts. I know to be more careful than that.
"I apologize, Master Kenobi. The darkness in this place makes it so easy to become angry and vengeful." I looked at my hands, feeling foolish for letting the darkness enter me so easily. He came over to me and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"It's alright, Anakin. The war between the dark and the light is ever raging. We all need to use control. Even the greatest Jedi forget that sometimes."
His words always calm me. I was lucky to have him as a Master, his words or guidance and his gentle yet firm lessons of obedience taught me well. I gave him a small smile and together we exited the ship.
Suddenly, there was a loud explosion, and the ground in front of us blew into bits. Dusty stones rained on our heads as I frantically looked to Obi Wan for guidance.
"They set traps! We need to get away from here now!" As I turned back towards the ship, it exploded also. The blast sent me and Obi Wan flying backwards, towards the edge of the cliff. I tried to get up but I was pinned underneath a large part of the former shell of our aircraft. Dust filled my mouth and I coughed, struggling for air. Black spots floated at the edge of my vision. I could feel myself slipping. The last thing I felt before everything went dark was a hand on my shoulder and the feeling of my stomach dropping.
He just pulled us both over the cliff.
Obi Wan's POV
I threw Anakin's limp form over my shoulder as we slid down to the bottom of the canyon. It was dark, illuminated now with nothing but the dark red light from the moon. Hurrying through the shadows quietly, I duck and dodge in order to avoid being seen from above. "Well," I muttered. "This was not the plan."
I stopped to rest, my back against a large Boulder after I laid Anakin's unconscious body. I knew the best option right now was to meditate and explore surroundings. We needed a safe place to rest, and receive medical attention for Anakin. Expanding my mind, I breathed deeply, sensing the dead emptiness of the land surrounding.
Then suddenly, I felt it. The heat of life. It was near! I lifted Anakin back into my arms and ran. Dust flew up as my feet pounded hard against the rocky earth. My muscles began to sting as I dashed continuously in the dead of night, but I didn't stop until finally I saw it. A small grouping of huts, made of red stone and cloth roofed. It looked deserted, but I could still sense the life, hotter than ever. Running to the nearest hut, I approached just as a woman peered out. Her large brown eyes stared fearfully at me, and she was so overwhelmed with fear and anxiety that I instantly stopped and spoke softly.
"Please," I begged, looking at her with desperation. "My Padawan is injured. He needs medical attention. Can you help us?"
The look of fear on her fair features turned into shock. Rising to her feet, she gripped the wall and began to speak.
"Pa-pa-padawan?" Her voice shook as she stuttered the word out.
"Come in, quickly. I will help you."
